One aspect that really bothers me tho about his death is that it was very overshadowed by Glenn's death, and while I understand that Glenn was one of the og's and a long time fan favorite, I feel like killing them both off in the same episode and same manner did a disservice to Abraham, cause I feel a badass like that deserved to have his own episode dedicated to him and his eventual death. This guy was a massive bull and capable in combat and survival and his humor and way with words made him such a likable character. Again, a shame his death was so overshadowed.
Woulda absolutely loved to see Abraham in the All our War arc, you coulda seen his military history on full display and that woulda been fire. Too bad the writers didn't know how to write a good story anymore
5:00 "Obviously there are people out there whose favourite character is Abraham" that's me! I'm people! Don't get me wrong, I loved Glenn in the earlier seasons, but I genuinely can't remember what he did at Alexandria. Meanwhile, Abraham had taken charge of the wall construction crew, making him so much more valuable to the community as a whole. I hate how much his death was brushed aside on the show, and the actor saying he wasn't allowed to seek out new roles before season 7 premiered just adds insult to injury imo. His death was so impactful for me. Just as he would've been ready to die for his country, he was ready to die for his community without a moment's notice. The one consolation is that he died thinking he saved everyone. With his campy humour and his emotional depth combined, I think he's truly one of the most unique characters in the series. I think only Negan would be able to go bar-for-bar with one-liners.
Eugene wasn't a useless purpose for him. Without Eugene, the saviors bullets wouldn't have exploded. It took a bit but him keeping Eugene alive was Instrumental
The only way Abraham would have survived to All Out War (and perhaps even beyond that) was if he stayed at Alexandria and helped protect it against any Savior attacks, instead of going with Rick and the others to Hilltop. Putting him in the Negan line-up is certain death for him, since he was the most logical choice for Negan to take out and make an example of (the biggest dude, showing little to no fear, and staring at Negan so defiantly and threateningly, which made Negan feel intimidated deep down and he knew that he couldn't break Abraham into submission like he could with the others). If Abraham wasn't there, Negan would have chosen someone else who showed the least amount of fear (either Daryl or Michonne), or chosen someone truly at random, just like he did in the Comic Series. And with Abraham alive, he would have gotten Rick and the others to fight back against the Saviors sooner. I think he would play along with submitting to Negan's rule, but only for a short while, and then strike when the time is right. All Out War would start sooner and end sooner as well, and either Abraham dies fighting in All Out War, or manages to survive and gets to help the group deal with the Whisperers, the Reapers, and the Commonwealth. It would be so cool if Jesus survived as well. Abraham and Jesus could have become an extremely badass duo who fought alongside each other against the Saviors, Whisperers, Reapers, and Commonwealth (if one or both of them manage to last that long into the story anyway).
Dude has called the whole cast underrated 😂 I like the vids though I’ve watched them all and nice to drive to (appreciate the no swearing as my kid is in the car)
Hahahaha don’t you worry I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon either. But I’m glad you enjoy them I try and keep them family friendly so all ages can watch :)
Favorite character is so difficult. Glenn's relatability, season 4-5 Rick, Negan for so many reasons, Daryl when it's just him and Dog looking for Rick, gotta respect Carol, and yeah...
I wish Abraham lived way longer, it didn't make any sense killing him off at the line up, it should have been Glenn only since thats the death Negan pays the price for and its his most regrettable kill hes ever made, Also Abraham could have played a huge role in All Out War and the Whisper, Reaper and Commonwealth Arc's, He should have been a long term character maybe up to season 10 or 11
Thank you, YES!!!! Agreed 100% The fanbase rarely acknowledge that Abe did, in fact, "take one (or 6 or 7) for the team!" And even less of them are willing to admit that Daryl fucked up, I was legit bummed out the next day after the episode, at both Abe and Glen's deaths...but I seriously disliked Daryl for the next two seasons; not only for getting Glen killed, but for wasting Abraham's heroic sacrifice.
I don't think anyone can deny that Abraham is THE GOAT He is the one who got them to Washington...had it not been for him and his fearless belief that brave people could save the world. It was because of him that Alexandria was saved ..because without their group, Alexandria would have been destroyed by walkers.
Abraham has been my favorite character ever since he was introduced, I was absolutely devastated to see him die since I hadn’t been spoiled for his death 😭
As a person with sometimes extreme anger issues it's nice to see it represented well with Abraham's character. At first when we were introduced to him he was an aggressive charismatic leader for his group. By the end of his time on the screen he was a loving and compassionate man who cared about his friends fiercely .
Big man Abe was my second favourite from the main cast behind Shane. The depth of character you mention is very real, the one liners are great and I bet a fight between the Big Red Machine and officer friendly would have been exquisite! I pretty well checked out of the show after his death as the writers like to kill off the loose cannon bad ass characters that will argue and even go toe to toe with Rick such as Shane, Abe and Merle
Ngl even tho I think him and Rosita were really great, they could’ve done the breakup so much better because Sasha and Abraham both felt as though they had nothing really left to live for after certain points and they should’ve had dialogue that showcased their similarities that way and how they compliment one another instead of an abrupt end for Rosita and Abraham
He went out like a badass so I don’t regret his death scene. As sad as it was, it was the perfect way for his character to end. He had balls of steel and too much potential. Sometimes you have to leave the audience wanting more not less and they gave him a good season. Glenn on the other hand was done dirty season 6. He had no story arc and he was missing for a lot of the season due to his fake death. I wish they gave Glenn something subtle at least so when his death comes it feels like they actually utilised his character.
I was part of the season 7 exodus from TWD because they killed my favourite character... Abraham. I always enjoyed his character, though to be fair I'm just generally a fan of Micheal Cudlitz. He does great work in everything I've seen him in.
I love Abraham, as he was a unique and interesting character. He is someone who I would have wanted to have my back in a zombie situation. I was glad he was kept alive past his comic book death, as part of me was just waiting for it to happen, only for Denise to die in his spot. Sad we lost her but it gave me hope that he would stick around for a while longer. It was sad to see him killed off because I would have love to have seen what he could have done in the All out War arc, or better yet what he could have done with the Whisper arc. I would have love to have seen a fight with him and Beta, that could have been a good match up. Also it would have been interesting to see if him being alive would have changed things up with Sasha. Would she have died the same way, or would she have not taken that same risk and got caught?
I totally agree with the assessment that Abraham's death was just for cheap spectacle. I broke investment with this show after that episode and watched it only obligingly for a short time after. The sort of emotional manipulation that showrunners engage in can backfire badly, and this series is evidence of that. Should really just focus on writing a good story/adaptation over what they chose to do with the show.
While I agree on what you two have said about Abraham's death and especially how he was simply forgotten by just about all the group I disagree about Glenn not having more story (and I felt the same about his death in the comic). Glenn, like Carl should have become a leader in the show. He basically should have been the bridge between Rick and eventually Carl. In so many ways, Rick became Shane and at this point in the TV show he had taken on the negative qualities of Shane and had very little of his humanity and none of Glenn's compassion (which combined with his resourcefulness made TV Glenn more compelling than TV Rick IMO). I do think there was more for Abraham but I think Glenn's future could have been more interesting. He would have had time to deal with his part in the Savior massacre that led to Negan's violent retribution which honestly could have shown a different side to Glenn and forced him to grow and actually struggle with maintaining his humanity and learning to become a leader especially since... And here's where the purists get angry. Rick became the victim of Lucille. This makes more strategic and narrative sense considering he's the leader and if Negan truly wants to subjugate the Alexandrians, killing the leader is the best way to do so. This would've made for a far more interesting Savior war as say both Glenn and Abraham get to butt heads with how to deal with the Saviors. Abraham preferring a more scorched earth, take no prisoners way to war and Glenn both trying to defeat and outwit them while suffering from feelings of guilt for even taking part in the initial massacre and how it led to Rick's violent end and also struggling not to lose himself. There definitely was more to Glenn's and Abraham's story and it's a shame that we didn't have a show runner and writers with a bit more imagination.
I wonder how the fight would of went down with negan and Abraham if he gave him a fair fight hand to hand like he did with the guy who played Trevor in gta forgot his name in the walking dead it would be an interesting concept cause he showed no fear towards negan
This is why I hated that both he and Glenn died in the same episode. Glenn's death overshadowed Abe's which is fucked. Should've just killed on or the other, there was no reason to kill them both 🤦♂️
Theo can you do the heavenly virtues vs deadly sins in twd characters. To get you started, If you do this, tomi would be sloth since he hid being a medic
I havent watched the episode where he dies more than twice. So details are limited in my current recollection. But you mentioned Abraham drawing attention to himself in the lineup. How did he do that?
@theohuntt thanks for the response. I always liked Abraham because to me he was similar to the other boss characters; who never hesitated to handle things. I would have loved to see him & Sasha's relationship develop as well. And I actually didn't care as much that Glenn died because unpopular opinion; I found him and Maggie a bit annoying.
@shirayasha yes, I do remember him kneeling more upright. Rick was also kneeling that way; that gave me the impression they didn't want Negan to think they were intimidated - like the others, who were visibly shaken.
I don't think Abe's death was a cheap shot at all. As much as I like Abraham, i have to say that his death actually made a lot of sense to me, as well as his inclusion in the lineup. Abraham is probably the strongest and most intimidating man on the group. So, he'd naturally join Rick. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for Rick to have someone like Gabriel and maybe even Eugene since they're both weaklings. but if there is ANYONE Rick would need to bring, it would definitely be Abraham and Glenn. also Abraham making himself look bigger than everyone and standing up against Negan in the subtle ways he did to show that he isn't afraid is exactly something Abraham would do. Glenn jumping out of line and attacking Negan after he threatens to kill a sickly Maggie is exactly something Glenn might do. BUT, Daryl punching Negan isn't something Daryl would or even COULD do. I mean, the guy got shot and is clearly sick or weak from an infection or blood loss. Not to mention that Daryl hasn't even spoken to Abraham and Rosita throughout the entire show, despite being in the same group. so why the hell would Daryl punch Negan? I feel like that only happened so that they could find an excuse to kill Glenn. so really, the true cheap shot of that episode was Daryl somehow gaining the strength to punch Negan for almost no reason, risking everyone and his own life, just so that the show could write in Glenn's death.
If they had kept Merle around longer I feel like he would have taken a swing at Negan earning him the Lucille death which no doubt would make Daryl lash out
Daryl did talk to Abraham when he saved him and Sash when they first meet the saviors and Rosita when Daryl was chasing Dwight. But I see where you’re coming from.

Grace's death is by far one of the more emotional deaths of the show. I'd put it up there with Nick and John's deaths.
Yeah no offense against Glenn like Glenn is my dude and one of the best TWD characters but I really wish Abraham got more respect and got mentioned more by both the fandom and the characters in the show like c'mon Abraham is the GOAT 🐐 and deserves to be treated as so 😭🙏
They don't mention it as a sacrifice because it was not a sacrifice. He was literally chosen by Negan. Abraham did not have an option of whether or not he was going to get chosen or not it was not Abraham who sacrificed himself for the greater good. It was me and who took Abraham as a sacrificial token for all of the people that that group has killed. But because it was Megan's Choice nobody looks at it as though Abraham made an ultimate sacrifice himself
I would disagree with the claim due to the fact he has one of the biggest fan bases in the franchise. An example of an underrated character would be Noah or Eric
Abe kinda got a send off hint with the Eugene speech and feeling positive about the future Glenn had a little bit in the previous episode but felt like they wanted Glenn dead for more shock from the fans should have just kept it at Abe Glenn felt outta nowhere and like he didn’t even get many lines toward the end

With his campy humour and his emotional depth combined, I think he's truly one of the most unique characters in the series. I think only Negan would be able to go bar-for-bar with one-liners.
I wish he was in more stuff, I loved him in TWD :)
Hey! I'm also a fan of Abraham.
Eugene wasn't a useless purpose for him. Without Eugene, the saviors bullets wouldn't have exploded. It took a bit but him keeping Eugene alive was Instrumental
I think if he weren't a ginger he'd be remembered better.
Hahahaah justice for the gingers!
Abe is the Chad of the gingers though.
Dude has called the whole cast underrated 😂
I like the vids though I’ve watched them all and nice to drive to (appreciate the no swearing as my kid is in the car)
Hahahaha don’t you worry I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon either. But I’m glad you enjoy them I try and keep them family friendly so all ages can watch :)
Favourite character always. Absolute champ and he went out perfect.
Trueeeee
I was so mad when Abraham died. He was my favorite.
Favorite character is so difficult. Glenn's relatability, season 4-5 Rick, Negan for so many reasons, Daryl when it's just him and Dog looking for Rick, gotta respect Carol, and yeah...
One of far too many characters killed off too early
I wish Abraham lived way longer, it didn't make any sense killing him off at the line up, it should have been Glenn only since thats the death Negan pays the price for and its his most regrettable kill hes ever made, Also Abraham could have played a huge role in All Out War and the Whisper, Reaper and Commonwealth Arc's,
He should have been a long term character maybe up to season 10 or 11
While most stopped watching due to Glenn's death, I stopped because of Abraham's death.
so did i. Abraham was by far my favorite character.
man was a badass and lucky af Rosita is a smokeshow
He took it like a champ 😂 I can’t not laugh at that line
Thank you, YES!!!! Agreed 100% The fanbase rarely acknowledge that Abe did, in fact, "take one (or 6 or 7) for the team!" And even less of them are willing to admit that Daryl fucked up, I was legit bummed out the next day after the episode, at both Abe and Glen's deaths...but I seriously disliked Daryl for the next two seasons; not only for getting Glen killed, but for wasting Abraham's heroic sacrifice.
Literally my favourite character was gutted when he died
I was devastated when both of my favorite characters died in the same episode
I don't think anyone can deny that Abraham is THE GOAT
He is the one who got them to Washington...had it not been for him and his fearless belief that brave people could save the world.
It was because of him that Alexandria was saved ..because without their group, Alexandria would have been destroyed by walkers.
I remember first seeing this guy as a CO on Prison Break that T Bag kills, great actor if you compare his roles
Loved his band’s song too, “enter sandman”🤘
Thank you for doing my favorite character
Abraham’s Death hits me harder than Glenns death! I also liked glenn very much, but abraham even more
RIP Abraham ✌️💯
I pretty well checked out of the show after his death as the writers like to kill off the loose cannon bad ass characters that will argue and even go toe to toe with Rick such as Shane, Abe and Merle
he’s underrated? Hands down my top 5 favorite good guys in the whole show
I loved Abraham, they should have kept him on until the end.
He was a good character i wish he had made it to the end
I would have liked Abraham to have had more time with Sasha and I think he and Beta would have been great opponents.
That fight would have been awesome!
Big red was my favorite character when he was introduced and it pained me he died how and when he did. Not giving us a propor morning as viewers
👏 Keep up the great content as always! 👏
@@gamewriteeye769 thank you so much man! :)
My top 3 favorite characters are
1.Abraham
2.Lydia
3.Glenn
if i may ask how do you make character videos with clips of them? do you get any copyright or anything
I always felt like Abraham was killed only as a way to trick the audience into thinking Glenn was safe.
I love your TWD videos bro
Thank you so much! :)
@@theohuntt no thank you
I totally agree with the assessment that Abraham's death was just for cheap spectacle.
Steven orgg
@@jordankennedy6205 yeah that guy lol
Fair fight abe woulda killed neegan. Why neegan killed him early without giving abe a chance. He knew abe was the biggest threat
If you love Abraham, you should read The Walking Dead comics because he is very funny in them.
By standing up and not tilting his head as Negan requested. It’s suttle but very deliberate
@@NoellGenna yeah totally I feel like Glenn’s story at come to a natural end but Abrahams had so much left to be told! Especially with him and Sasha!
he doesnt fidget while in the line up, just looks confident. Like he's the only one who was ready for whatever was to come.
@shirayasha yes, I do remember him kneeling more upright. Rick was also kneeling that way; that gave me the impression they didn't want Negan to think they were intimidated - like the others, who were visibly shaken.
Shouldn't have killed Abraham, he had a lot of potential i really missed him 😭😭😭
Gingers reign supreme
He's not my favorite and most likely never will be but I truly think that he died too soon and never got the appreciation from anyone even after death
@@liltwistedgamer they should have had more interactions between Daryl and Abe. If they became bros then it would make more sense for Daryl to lash out
@@skwisgarskwigelf7191 of course. to the point where Daryl would probably get himself killed.
@@liltwistedgamer actually, yeah. tbh tho these moments were pretty forgettable except when Daryl shot a rocket launcher at the bikers. im a bit dumb for forgetting it.
i enjoyed abraham i appreciate that he didn't get his comic book death. i think the line up death gave more story development for some of the other characters imo.
**SPOILER FOR FTWD**
also im currently watching s8 of FTWD as its on netflix now and im on episode 5. Grace's death is by far one of the more emotional deaths of the show. I'd put it up there with Nick and John's deaths.
Can you do bob or noah next
Christ is king
I firmly believe Negan killed Abe because he knew Abe posed a serious threat and wouldn’t fall in line.
Duh. Negan even tells Rick in the 8x16 finale that eenie meenie minie mo shit was bs and he just didn’t wanna kill Rick in front of Carl.
Can you do a John one🥺
Yes definitely sometime in the next few weeks :)
@@theohuntt thank you so much he definitely deserves it my favorite twd universe character ❤️:(
Can you do a sasha one she is definitely over looked as a character with alot of story the lose of famliy the hunting walkers and so on
Yeah no offense against Glenn like Glenn is my dude and one of the best TWD characters but I really wish Abraham got more respect and got mentioned more by both the fandom and the characters in the show like c'mon Abraham is the GOAT 🐐 and deserves to be treated as so 😭🙏
Fr they did my boy so dirty!🥲
@@theohuntt Facts 😭🔥💯
They don't mention it as a sacrifice because it was not a sacrifice. He was literally chosen by Negan. Abraham did not have an option of whether or not he was going to get chosen or not it was not Abraham who sacrificed himself for the greater good. It was me and who took Abraham as a sacrificial token for all of the people that that group has killed. But because it was Megan's Choice nobody looks at it as though Abraham made an ultimate sacrifice himself
I would disagree with the claim due to the fact he has one of the biggest fan bases in the franchise. An example of an underrated character would be Noah or Eric
Poor Noah.
Abraham > Glenn and nothing can change my mind
Abraham is my second favorite character behind Glenn. That episode sucked.
When they took Glenn and Abraham I couldn't watch the show anymore.
Him and glen were my favorites so when they died I quit watching
clicked on video, saw it was stretched to 10:07 for extra ads, then i click off of video
I’m literally just making my point :) is every video on TH-cam meant to be less than 10 mins I’m confused?
@@theohuntt no, there’s a difference between a 10 minute video and a 7 minute video that is stretched to 10 minutes out of greed 💯
His wife was dead she was not built for that world
I hate that Abraham didn‘t get the Recognition that he deserved.
As you can see during the Lineup, he was the calmest of the Group, due to him being calm under Stress, he learnt that in the Army. He probably was also extremly calm during the War in the Middle east.
Imagine Abraham, Shane, Daryl, Merle and Rick were together, Man oh Man they would be an invincible Team.
I would have liked Abraham to have had more time with Sasha and I think he and Beta would have been great opponents.
