The forces of Chaos led by Vashtorr the Arkifane invade a Forge World and Belisarius Cawl with the Adeptus Mechanicus must repel them. Tak is playing his list for the first time after the Arks of Omen changes against Mubin who is piloting an aggressive in your face list with that is also very hardy. In this 40k in 40m we see the clash of big and bad versus machine and mean.

I love how in lore Vashtor was easily able to restore Abaddon’s flagship to factory new using his powers. Yet he has no repair ability in game. Lol

Yeah Vashtor is one of the coolest characters and model from GW in my opinion. But the rules for him are super underwhelming

For once? Didn't you guys rule the meta game for like a year in 9th edition? I seem to remember a turn 1 concession in the final of a major tournament because Admech nearly cleared the board in the first turn.

I love that there are 3D printed miniatures. It lets people know that you dont have to spend a heap of money to play this game. Being Australian, the prices for Games Workshop products are beyond a joke.

maybe if he had a unit in front of him so he didnt get lit up every round. he was positioned in front of the bike and got mauled. And 2 vendom crawlers in mid as gun turrets when he had a hell brute. really weird decisions all around i think
Another great 40k in 40m. You guys have the best battle reports for 40k on youtube. You guys were a big part of what inspired me to finally take the plunge and get into 40k. I've just finished painting up the first models of my Drukhari army. I hope we can see some Drukhari on the channel in the near future. Regardles, you guys keep being awesome and spreading the glory of battles in the grimdark future!

I feel like vashtorr and the dark admech should have a psychic discipline or two instead of command abilities. Maybe when the faction launches (eventually) we'll see some warp shenanigans!

Coming from someone that has never played 40K (only the RTS games) but is kinda into the lore, "40k in 40m" has become one of my favourite videos to watch. You guys really make it entertaining, even for people who are not into the game and know all the rules with great production quality, engaging commentators and entertaining players, and of course awesome models!
vashtor is so disappointing. He's supposed to be this God of the soul forge and trying to ascend to the level of the chaos gods and hes like a top tier mechanic. Dude cant even repair vehicles. his buf for demon engines isnt that good either. and demon engines suck right now. his stat profile seems like the goal was to be like half warp Smith half demon Prince but hes worse at both. He can't buff titanic units and he has no meaningful buffs for any other units. Not to mention his keywords are terrible as an agent of chaos. He misses out on a lot of stuff from any list he's in just overall really disappointing.
He doesn't even get a lot of buffs in his own army of renown cause he doesn't even have the daemon engine keyword
A lot of "trap" options for his abilities too. He can half the range of a unit within 18" which sounds cool on paper but that also means for it to work properly and not be redundant, you *shouldn't* charge the range threat. So I guess it works in a pinch when the better option of charging is not available? His aura buff is also just a captains +1 to hit but half the range *and* you need to select it first. 'Agonize machine spirits' at least can shutdown transport heavy armies or a charge from a dreadnought though.
not to mention he’s locked into having the worst WL trait in the entire CSM codex

I love Taks AdMech he knows his army so well it's always awesome to watch him play them.

I really love Vashtorr's look but his data sheet is very disappointing. I'll probably get this box to boost my dark angels and to get Vashtorr as a collectible. Great game nonetheless!
Commenting during the première - my brain is telling me CSM have this in the bag, but my heart hopes that Tak and the Admech can snatch victory from the jaws of Chaos

Fun game! It seems like it can be difficult for the Word Bearers to do serious damage against AdMech, but Tak did use the right canticles and doctrinas at the right time. Still, the poor Daemon Prince and Lord Discordant…
The use of the single Chaos Spawn to tie up the Onager was especially cool, certainly not something I’d seen before. I’m just starting up a Word Bearers army, so this video was great for learning about how the army works!
Really wish Vashtorr was stronger like god damn he’s kinda bland
Great game; really told the story of how much of a disappointment Vastorr turned out to be. Would be curious to see how his own army of reknown will do down the line, maybe with a Brass Scorpion/Lord of Skulls. Loved seeing the boys from Mars though under a great pilot. And as always a support comment to see some more Chaos Daemons my favorite army.

FYI, Hexagramatic Ward is used after the Hit and Wound roll, but before you roll a saving throw. About 26 minutes in, yall seemed to use it before the Hit roll.
Wording of Ward: "Use this Stratagem in any phase, when an attack is allocated to a WORD BEARERS model from your army."
Per the Core rules of making attack rolls, Step 1 is make hit rolls, Step 2 is make wound rolls, and Step 3 is the controlling player allocates the attack to a model in the unit. (Step 4 is make saves).
The "selecting targets" part of making attacks does not mention "allocating attacks" at all, so Ward only comes up in Step 3.
Been watching a lot of games lately. Long time fan, but rarely play. Pretty sure I have seen damage, saves, and rules applied differently in games that should all be 9th. I blame GW for being convoluted.

Also, i love to see the Veil Touched Miniatures sprinkles into the Chaos army. Hopefully we will continue to see miniatures of the upcoming Veil Touched releases in your videos.

My dice have always lived up to "Dice Tell stories" especially in my games against Tak. The amount of times we've had games off camera where the dice, rules, stats, averages and any other piece of data you could gather say we should have a particular result. The dice say "No thanks. We're gonna do what we want"
Based on facts I think chaos will win this one especially with ad mech having such low win rates although tak is a great player but based on bias I want TAK AND HIS AD MECH TO WIN

Fantastic battle, a bit sad Vashtorr doesn't have some sort of repair ability or even like a special psyker power to repair things, but still a lot of fun to watch.
I was so hyped for vashtorr after that lore and model but the rules... It's like the had a meeting and tried to make the most bland bad warpsmith they could. So salty...

Vashtor's a very "mid" profile, as the kids like to say. He did the right thing though, Vashtor needs to be aggressive in melee and has to *stay* in melee, where he can do all his shenanigans without worrying about being shot down. He is effectively a smash character dreadnought with fly.

Vashtorr's first charge wouldn't have been impeded, he has FLY keyword.
It is not the crater we were measuring. With the latest latest version of the rules (which I know gets changed around) the fly keyword does not ignore vertical measurements in the charge phase.

Yeah it’s one of those not so intuitive rules, I think because they didn’t want people arguing over what effects fly ignore in the charge, so they just said everything effects them

Wait, did Mubin say this was his first time playing CSM vs. Tak playing an army he's very familiar with? Plus, with how new Vashtorr is... I am wondering if he got a fair shake or if things would've played out differently if fielded by someone who mains CSM? It is entirely possible his rules are just not good, but I honestly thought he would fare better and make a larger impact up against so many vehicles.
We often get put on the spot with armies. Mubin is a hero for coming in to play Vashtorr on a day's notice. We are going to do a rematch Live Stream this week.
@Play On Tabletop I agree Mubin is great, I've really liked watching your other videos. It's especially helpful how everyone is really good about verbalizing what they are doing each turn. Very helpful to this returning player from 4th-5th Ed trying to get caught up to the new game changes. Much appreciated. Not hating on Mubin, maybe just some constructive criticism that Vashtorr perhaps isn't the tanky beefcake to be deployed first smack in the middle lol.

It's refreshing to see the new hotness NOT dominating. I know Vashtorr has issues, but I'm glad he's not creeped like everything else.....At least until GW knee-jerk reacts to this by buffing the crap out of him.
So Vashtorr only about two-thirds of a space Marine taller than the master of possession.. very nice.
even though he's being touted as this huge monster of a model and I guarantee he comes out at $80 price point, they're getting really good at figuring out how to make things look so much bigger than they are. To then jack up the price point and get away with using the same amount of plastic as a normal-sized HQ lol
think like the big huge bags of chips, labeled family-size value bag and the bags only about a third of the way full
Chaos feels so sad right now. Just weak. Frail. What do we have abandon and what flamers being the only good shorting we “had” and everyone complaining until they changed flamers to not be a flame-thrower anymore. Just let chaos have it’s time plz!

This is probably the best battle report channel, but please consider having less frames of dude throwing dice and maybe just more shots of the units being rolled for. Love the produktion quality and the graphics though

Vashtorr is a joke, lore wise he spent ages building the cogs of Vashtorr.. then gets wiped out in his first notable campaign (good writing gw.. everything remains the same as always), he can't repair anything and the giant spiney blade edged wings and the massive set of claws... can't hit people. I don't remember seeing a new character where it's clear the art team, the lore team and the rules team never even met. Great model though!

Using venomcrawlers to run up mid for shooting is a really weird way to waste 210 points. The +1 they give to the master of possession is worth more than a bit of shooting I think and the hellbrute would've made a better turret
The Cult of Mars proves that the Omnissiah blesses his warriors. That and the fact that a literal Daemon demigod got kicked to death like the walkers were bullying him
The disparity in knowledge between the players and their armies makes this a boring watch. Tak obviously knows his army way more and gives him an obvious advantage.
