That Mother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law are both like my paternal aunt and my grandmother. They both are extremely disrespectful towards my biological mother. And I can predict when this OP and her husband adopts a kid, then I am pretty sure her Mother-in-law and her Sister-in-law will also try to disrespect their kid. This OP's story sounded like my mother's story. That SIL's husband seems like my paternal aunt's husband. He is also very ignoring and was kinda sucking off my paternal grandad's property, but my dad blocked him badly. My paternal granddad was a little bit supportive towards my mother and loved me a lot. He wanted me to become a real man in my life!!! RIP granddad, we are still missing you and I promise that I will become the same guy you ever wanted me to be!!
My mom and dad got married in 2004 and I was born just after a year after their marriage. I heard a story from my dad I think, that from the first day of their marriage, they started to disrespect my mom alongside with my other paternal relatives who were close to my paternal grandmother and my aunt. They started to say that my mother was too young to marry and love a guy who is having a better job (Note: - my mom was 26 when she married and was 27 when I was born). And the biggest irony is my paternal grandmother married my granddad when she was just 13 in late 60s and gave birth to my dad in 1970 when she was just 16!!!!
My mom ignored that and moved on. When in 2005 my dad was stuck in Mumbai as huge flood happened there, my paternal grandmother and my aunt started to panic my mother unnecessary, and my mother was pregnant having me for 8 months during that time. They didn't care about me and my mother. And as I grew up, they then started panicking my mother that why I can't speak a language (note that, my dad was having a civil engineering job in Indian Army, and due to that we used to move different places and have to adapt different languages. And now, I can speak five to six languages). I was fucking 2 years old infant back then and was listening to different languages which was confusing me which made me to talk lately. They even started to compare me with other kids without any reason and made me to question my existence. This leaded me to suicidal thoughts and lose my self-esteem until my mother found out about that (I think those were the times of 2012 or something). She then yelled on them and in return those bitches just tried to disrespect my mother and about call my mom as a gold digger!!! My dad then comforted us and then he confronted them and yelled on them!!
Another incident was from I think 2015 or something, when I was barely 10 years old kid, they often use to call me as a brat, so I was just adjusted to them. One day when me, my mom, my paternal grandmother and her daughter (my fucking aunt but now, she adopted a three-month-old kid from forest I think) were on some religious event, My grandmother then started to say in front of many people that she already disowned me from the first day when my aunt just adopted a kid a month ago!! I felt blank and was numb. My mother also felt very humiliated by her. So she took me to home and said everything to my dad. And my dad, being red with anger again confronted to them, but they called us as "liars" and told him that we were just manipulating him. That angered my mother and had a fight with them.
My mom and I had many bad times even till now we are being disrespected by her and her bitchy daughter and now sadly, she made her granddaughter a bitch even she is barely 10 years old now. I atleast expected better from my paternal aunt's daughter but she ended up being a bitch at almost 10 years old. She disrespects every elder who she sees poor and uneducated or something (but many of them are millionaires!!! They just want to live a normal and simple life as they are aged.). But I am teaching her to become a woman, not a bitch. I always yell on her and try to discipline her by scaring her off. I dunno that I am doing right or wrong. But I am trying to convert a future bitch into a future queen.
I don't know whether I can rescue myself and my mother from them or not. Please pray for me🙏🙏

I think Jacob already knew how toxic they were. But it is very hard to seperate from familiy, especially when childhood wasn't too problematic enough to notice its shortcomings. He tried to make peace, have both his old and new families coexist, even begrudgingly so. Unfortunately, his mother and sister did everything in their power to not have that. OP is seemingly saved from all this bs, but I bet Jacob is feeling some sort of sorrow from not having things work out.
I wouldn't allow 8 people at my home even if it was My Best friend who is in need and a house may be Big but there is no way 10 individuals are able to live together under the same roof and offering to pay for their expenses in exchange for the mortgage is a Bad deal.
