Yea you might lose a bit of freedom, and you also gain someone who will carry on your legacy, core beliefs, and memory into the future, also when you get real old, they'll likely be there at the end. Not too many couples go at the same time, so having someone around who cares when your old and feeble will be a boon that you can't put a price on.
