- To get into the Christmas spirit we headed off to The CAMC site at Broadway in the Cotswolds to see the village beautifully decorated and enjoy a glass or two 🍻
We had a drink in the Tavern at the Lyon Arms, and the Broadway Hotel and dinner was a very festive turkey dinners burger at Flipside.
Broadway has a very long high street full of little independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The CAMC site is well placed with a 20 min walk into town and right outside is the GWSR heritage railway.
The site was very tidy and peaceful and even had a toilet block in the old railway goods shed which doubled up as a mini museum housing the late Duke of Edinburgh’s old caravan.
The following morning we headed to the top of Broadway Tower, this was a steep hike but you can drive to the car park at the top, to go inside the tower was £14 each with an audio guide.
Nearby is a cafe and gift shops and surprisingly a herd of red deer which for a fee you can feed them as part of a deer experience.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we again came away wishing we had more time so this is definitely one to return to.
