    Love my Air 2s and Beam. Waiting for the Beam pro to arrive...on order in the UK. Also love my Quest 3, but X Reals for me when watching videos. Way more comfortable and less cumbersome. Highly recommended.

    Appreciate the walk through! I have had the AP2 Pro and Beam for almost 6 weeks. Really looking forward to seeing my Beam Pro soon! I dont use the Beam and just mirror my S23U for Apps and Dex. I do have the Nebula App for Windows and that works well for multiscreen for 2 and up to 3 on HP Victus. Cheers!

I'm probably going to buy both the glasses 🕶️ and beam pro but still wish they'd get it right for phones imo.

      Seriously though. I'm on the verge of wanting to do it especially since I have the $50 off coupon from having the Beam but also after the Beam I'm not sure I'm ready to trust Xreal with more of my money. Would really rather get some real people's reviews but that's not going to happen before the 10th... I'm honestly considering saving and jumping over to Viture because though their stuff isn't perfect it seems like they stand by their products more and have more variety of accessories. Really I probably just need to step back for a couple of years and let the tech cook longer in the oven and be a little more done before investing more into it.

    This is the dumbest idea I've seen since the ipod touch days. They couldn't make this an app for your existing phone? Lame. I'll stick with my viture pro. I'd rather have the neckband with Android TV than carry around 2 phones.

    • @volcalstone
      @volcalstone 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It captures 3D images and videos. That's one main purpose of this device. They need those lenses further apart than your typical phone. Even the cameras on the iPhone 15 pro max aren't that great when it comes to capturing spatial pics or vids.
      The only thing missing is a 3rd USB-C port for charging if you're using the input already.

    • @SH-7125
      @SH-7125 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, they couldn't make this into an app to do what they wanted as they need system level permissions in order to do what they want. The only other way would have been if your phone was rooted (Android) and they made their app have an option for rooted devices to access the required level of permissions.
      So...basically, an app is not going to have the same level of permissions needed to do what they want. The app they do have called "Nebula" lacks a lot of features due to this reason...there is only so much you can do with an app as it's going to have a lot of limitations due to permission reasons....as well as the requirements needed for the app to be in Google Play Store.
      I think this form factor (this, Beam, Rokid Station etc) is nicer as it's more portable than a neckband. Makes traveling with it easier as you wouldn't need to put it in a backpack or w/e.
      So...what does this device have?
      - It's designed specifically for AR experience so you'll have a better AR experience than you would with a phone.
      - It has 2 cameras that are 50mm apart which is specifically made for capturing photos/videos in 3D. Now, I think this is sort of a nice addition...as it would make me want to take pictures/videos of places I travel and relive those moments in 3D thru the glasses.
      - It has 2 USB-C ports. One for charging and one for the glasses....no need for messy dongle setups.
      - Pretty good battery size at 4300mAh. Some phones may have smaller amount than this...which means shorter play time.
      - Expandable storage. A lot of recent Android devices lack this very needed feature.
      - Dedicated button to switch to the spatial mode of your choice. Body Anchor, Smooth Follow (and maybe pinned corner screen in a future update like Beam (Called "Sideview" in regular Beam...You can resize windows etc in Beam Pro but not the same as having a dedicated pinned screen to the corner of your choice.)
      It's easier to recommend people buying this device vs a phone as it is specifically designed for the glasses....and it makes it easier for them to optimize the experience as they have to focus on one device vs the many Androids/iPhones available....which can end up making the experience buggy for certain phones etc.
