    A 139QMB carb for a 49cc gy6 really wakes up that little motor. i upped the jet to a #80 and it has so much power the clutch slips even at high speeds. the bfg upgraded clutch solved that problem and I can go up hills with no trouble. my motor is on a schwinn scooter so there is no pedal assist. I cut the muffler off the pipe and welded on a briggs 8hp sausage mufffer and that made even more power.

    I had a similar bike engine kit, was a 49cc 4 stroke with 4g belt transmission totally silent. I rode for 3 years to & from work every day was awesome. The primary reduction drive is chain and is a 3-1 and is for the Pit and Pocket bikes on small wheels. Ideal is a 6-1 reduction like the T-belt ones. If you can fit a 56t rear sprocket, this should bring the ratio close to where it should be and ease the clutch and pedaling on hills.
    I have a 39cc OHV 4st engine outboard LHS by the rear wheel. it is a geared reduction of 6-1 and till have a 48t sprocket due to the engine size.

    I bought a pair of saddlebags off of eBay, and used it on my small motorbike, but I thought that it would cover the motor on one of these as well, as I have just finished putting one of the two-stroke models on my mountain bike you just cut a hole in the saddle bag and it fits tightly over the petrol cap, then when the cap is on it locks the bag down and should hide the motor. They were pannier bags I think and cost around five bucks.

    If you look inside the ports you’ll see a skirt blocking 1/4 of them. I dremelled it to a ramp. I also jetted the carb and put a breather on the valve cover. Then I sealed the crankcase breather hole. Mine was governed by the size of the carburetor.

  • @nb3channel
    @nb3channel ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You should be able to start from rest by just twisting the throttle without pedaling. Also it should be able to handle hills without pedaling as well. I can see what you are missing is the choke switch, which is the white plastic that you didn't touch at all, and is left at the closed position all the while, that's why you're not getting enough power. You are supposed to close it when cold-starting the engine, and then open when it's already running, where the bike can be operated like a regular scooter. With the choke operational and you still have the same issues, then your centrifugal clutch is faulty.

    Very good. I built a 2 stroke version, kinda like it better. Has that awesome beehive sound, I have a big chrome expansion chamber on the thing so it looks pretty bad ass. I have been able to get some pretty good performance out of it with a high compression head, upgraded carb and exhaust. Sure is loud though!! It makes so much power now the clamped rear sprocket like yours has bent all the spokes!

    I would like to have you explore the cause of the clutch vibration issue. The other “farm” video did not seem to have as big of a problem with his engine.??. Covering the engine to ride “cloaked” is a good idea, so something light but not easily combustible is my vote. How about a thin sheet of tin or even that stuff plummers use to keep flooring and what not from burning when sweating copper joints? Just ideas of the top!
