Two days in a row and the mail is still there so thats the sign to go ahead with the burglary only to find out thats same day the owners return home and all hell breaks loose!
My home was ALMOST robbed last year. I was the only one home, there were no cars in our driveway. I was actually chilling in the living room, lights off just on my phone. I saw the guy come up to the door, he was looking for keys in the mail box which is where we kept the keys sometimes (had one less key than people). So he must have been spying on us for a while...Anyway there was no key that day, so I got up and knocked on the door from the inside and he ran away so quickly.
I read a lot of comments about people saying they'll shoot a burglar but these cowards don't break into your house while you're home for just that reason, they wait until you're at work or out of town.
My house is never empty, we don't get the mail and we like antique weapons. It's our decor. That might be quite a surprise for some poor sack of meat, someday.
0:53 - best time 2 break in home (1:30) - answer is early evenin 4:58 - mailbox is full, knock on door. Then goes 2 back or front door. 6:26 - dog comes 2 door. Depends on the size of the dog. Giant dog, he runs. 7:00 - how long do most home burgalaries last? 10 min.
My family's house growing up had a huge, wide-open front yard that my dad spent what seemed like every weekend mowing with a wide porch in front, plainly visible from the road, while our immediate neighbors' house had four or five massive trees in the front yard and a porch that was really high up with steps to it, not on the same level as the street really. These neighbors had their house broken into twice in a span of six years, before they moved out and went to a northern state, while our house was never once so much as trespassed in the 15+ years I lived there. I guess I know why now.

Usually these guys would blur out faces and change voices but this one didn't hahaha... He's a clever crook. My dog would see him walk in & just play with him ... the other barky one would happily accept treats from him as bribery to shut up. We have a huge mail box that needs a lock to open that probably can't be filled too easily within a week or two of being gone (maybe if we're planning to be gone for 3 weeks+ then will ask someone to grab our mail)- Thought of getting high fences to prevent coyotes from jumping over but now gonna keep them low since they can jump over 8 feet anyway!!! (low fence deter theft) we have cameras all around (probably deters them bc they notice those cams)- our neighbors were robbed.. they avoided our side of cameras though.. (out neighbors have low fence too) but.they went in the other side.. of their home.. I saw cops in the replay video but can't spot out the thief!! A very dangerous profession. A lot of people don't answer the door even when they' re at home if they see someone they don't know. Would be easy to walk in on someone with a gun close by. Then the BEST outcome for the burglar is lying face down while waiting foe the cops.
Bubba Blackmon : Very true. I never answer the door. If someone is knocking on my door, I won't answer, just sit quietly listening for walking on our pea gravel that runs the length of both sides of the house. If that rusty old gate creaks followed by footsteps on the gravel........ That's when I run as fast as possible upstairs and try to punch in the safe code correctly so I can grab a shotgun. Hopefully I can stumble downstairs before the perp has all of my shit loaded in his truck and is pulling away...
Bubba Blackmon I heard a horror story where that happened to a teenager. A neighbors landscaper rang the door Bell and when no one answered they broke in through the bathroom
Natedoc808 : Really....? Honestly though? You have to be pretty serious to rock a pistol on your hip as you cruise around the house in your pajamas! In February last year, around 3 AM i went to sleep after a long day. Everything was quiet,i laid down,3 minutes later i hear some strange noise coming from my house`s back door. At first i thought that it might be a cat but after i heard a loud metal noise that hit the ground i knew it was a burglar. He must have dropped or broken his breaking-in tools.I jumped out of my bed,got a bat and went after the guy but the door was locked with the key inside. Looks like the key saved him from an asswoopin`.
That bit about posing as fake landscaping business with one person out front mowing the lawn while the accomplice breaks in... Man. I never would have thought.
Not by random burglars - the majority of them just want things they can throw in a duffle bag or your own pillow case taken off your bed. Cash, jewelry, small guns, laptops, cell phones, etc. Things they can sell quick. Not many burglars want to carry around a flat screen TV. So you yank a TV off the wall, damage the mounting screws and tear-up the back panel and then sell it for what? This video was about solo, random burglars looking for a quick hit.

Well now we have video doorbells and we don’t have to be home when we answer. I have seen videos where the home owners have told strangers that they are not home which is a huge NO, NO!
My house was broken into 2 years ago and it lasted 10 minutes. Too bad for the bad guys we caught them due to hidden cameras. Got their car, tag number, face pictures, and finger prints. They had actually broken in several other houses but our house is the one they got caught from.
In my country they break in and they don't care about anything they break in and break everything I think they like to break windows and furniture and in the end they steal the money
Thank you for posting this so people know how to protect themselves and their homes. However, having multiple large dogs definitely helps. I love my GSD, Husky mix, and looking forward to Akita and Doberman to add to our pack.

To REALLY protect your home, *1.* Get longer and thicker strike plates. This spreads the impact from kicks over a larger area and it takes a LOT more kicks and more powerful kicks to break the door and door jam. *2.* Replace the screws in your strike plates with 3 inch long screws {instead of short screws that come with regular locks}, this makes the strike plates hold up a LOT longer as the screws are MUCH deeper in the wood frame. Also, *3.* "beware of dog" signs out front and on fences leading to your back yard *does* deter a large number of people. Dogs bark, dogs bite, many people are afraid of dogs and no one wants that hassle. *4* Keep the front of your house clear of bushes etc. all the way to the street. *5.* Use wood to place in sliding window tracks. {vertical or horizontal} Make SURE you tell your family this and go over how to lift the wood up etc. in case of fire. VERY simple stuff here people. VERY cheap and EASY ways to really lower the chance of being targeted. I worked for ADT for many years as a salesman, This simple stuff is 95% of the battle. Another simple thing but does cost some money is "window film" it is glued to the inside of the window and when the window is being smashed etc. The glass stays mostly in one piece and you have to hit and hit and hit to make a hole but still it's a small holes and there is broken glass all around it etc. No one will spend minutes making all that noise while seeing how tiny a hole they're making. Also ALWAYS look through the peep hole before opening the door. You can also talk through the door, NO need to open it. If they are selling something etc. Tell them "I'm not interested, please leave". You would be SUPER surprised how many robbers get in the front door, just by knocking and then the door opens. Be safe, think this over and do what you can, all of this is EASY and CHEAP. You and your family deserve to live in reasonable safety.
And The Striker plates aren't gonna do shit when someone drills out the deadbolt and knob, neither will boards when someone cuts glass. Working in the repair business really teaches you shit about break ins
The number of people carrying around power tools to break into homes is extremely low. You can't fortify your house like a prison. You can only do so much. Slowing down 100% of people is all you can do really. Use deterrents like signage, flood lights, get a security system etc. Then strengthen doors and windows {you can have a thick film applied to windows to make them much harder to smash through} to slow burglars down to the point they make so much noise or take so long to get in, that they give up. If someone shows up with a wrecking ball, so be it. You can't make your house a prison.
State laws do vary, but anyone who enters my home without permission is not going to leave it alive. I have no moral issue with killing a home invader at all.
@@AliBaba-dl4nf Plenty of "kids" have guns today. The circumstances of course vary, but as a general rule I would shoot them, including and perhaps especially if they were a kid, more agile and able than me at middle age. Invading someone's home is one of the worst offenses there is. People have to expect to die if they are willing to risk it. I don't "want" to kill a kid, but would and would without regret if they invaded my home.
We bought the best safe we could find. It is bolted to the concrete of our garage. All of my jewelry well, that’s hidden in places around the house. Not in my jewelry drawer not in my dresser drawer not under a mattress and I’m certainly not gonna tell you here on TH-cam. But use your imagination. Don’t hide your jewelry in your room or any of the places that he mentioned because that’s the first place they are going to go to. I don’t even keep my jewelry in the safe. And this criminal should be in prison.
My mom caught a burglar running down the road with all our stuff many years ago. She ran after him and he dropped all the stuff behind him. Got away, unfortunately.
Last night there was some guy trying to get in and I went after him similar to your mom, although he hadn't gotten in yet (I have cameras and saw him out there). I don't know about these guys that are skeptical of the cameras, that seems dumb. So after that happened I called the cops and sent them the footage showing the guys face. Is this what they want? Seems like a short career.
The psychological damage this man has done to his victims he is obviously unaware. It never goes away and all family members suffer for life at various levels. Be aware that also many break-ins are inside jobs, people you know have done it and it will be obvious if you think about the details. There undetectable traps that can be set and undetectable after they are triggered as well. And then there are pitbull terriers who are loving dogs but not to intruders. There will be DNA left behind.
Seriously... lol... this ex-burglar didn't say anything extraordinary. It is commonsense. It doesn't matter who... they will always look for the WEAKEST ENTRY POINT of YOUR HOUSE. Plus, you NEED to keep all of your doors and windows shut and LOCKED at all time, unless there are a lot of people at home throughout the house. People breaking in don't have concern for the people inside. If he or she has to take you out to get to all of your valuables, THEY WILL and won't give it a second thought.
@@1USAUSA - yeah, you just reiterated everything the burglar said, and you're correct - he was mostly mentioning common sense stuff. But some of it was stuff a regular person would not think of...
@@1USAUSA Yo idk why I'm coming back to this 10 months later but I want you to know that it was a joke about me robbing people, not getting robbed. Thank you for your very professional response though.
Whenever I would see someone walking around in the neighborhood that seemed out of place I took mental notes...I would usually stare them down as well...I would also see people driving around scoping things out so that they could tell the criminal how and when...Be careful with these people wanting to do your yard...or your gutters...while they are talking to you their 'friends' are breaking into your back windows...
When I’m driving, if I see someone walking around that looks out of place or a car driving around suspiciously, I always hit the save button on my dash cam and file the video for later. It may be needed later.
Justin define "put me in check". In English. Also: You must live in a sh*thole then, where it's dog eat dog. Pro tip: most people and most places here are actually fairly civilized and don't engage in violence for LOOKS, WORDS, DISRESPECT, STREET CRED, etc. We save it for stuff that matters. You know, like some random savage coming up and laying hands on us. The sad part is it's gonna get you killed one day.
Put an American flag outside. I used to do door to door sales and the American flag outside I usually avoided. First off they would never buy anything. Second they were usually grumpy veteran or patriot types who would have no problem shooting you. Of course I'm not a robber and never robbed anyone, but just an observation based on a crappy job I used to do.
I do too, but you're all talk like everyone else. Everyone who says things like that changes their mind if the person is their family or friend. It's like Narcan - the drug that saves heroin addicts' lives when they overdose. Now, no one in their right mind would give a rats ass if a heroin addict dies since they contribute nothing to society and usually make it worse. But since so many people have children who are heroine addicts these days, they support the use and manufacturing of drugs like Narcan, even though their children are no-good idiots who chose to do drugs and are now stealing shit from other people and their own parents to get their fix.
+nunya biznis nah. if family does it, they deserve what's coming to them. only pathetic people have the double standards. You must be associated with some pathetic people.
That “tip” about leaving the drapes open was pure bs. Do you really want a thief creating a shopping list before breaking into your home? The neighbors are also busy with their own lives to be watching your home. This POS is old because he is good at what he does and is probably STILL doing it so consider the source when listening to this guy’s advice
I'm putting up a no solicitors sign. Going to let my neighbors know so they can watch out if anyone comes on the property. I have an alarm system but I have heard so many things as to why you should use it, why you shouldn't that I'm confused. Maybe when I get the security cameras in I will put it out.
PikaPluff2040 So true. I have never met a reformed thief. In my experience with life, a thief will unfortunately always be a thief. It’s not in the taking, it’s in the thinking.
Tonya Wood The thing here is Ms Woods after you becoming born again by believing in JesusChrist you are a new creation and the holy spirit inside of you guides you telling you what is right and wrong. The word of God (bible) says the person without the spirit does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God but considers them foolishness. God bless you!
Tony I understand your opinion about your religion, I myself, am of a religion and have my own opinions. I didn’t say my comment to offend anyone. I was only stating what my experiences have been and they have not been too good when it comes to people who steal from others, companies, etc. I certainly believe that many can reform from ill deeds but for some reason, stealing seems to be harder for people to rid themselves of the sin.
Tonya Wood Don’t worry I didnt get offended. Religion is of man I just follow Jesus. I used to watch porn, be a fornicator, adulterous but after I became born again Jesus supernaturally took away the need of doing those things from me after I repented from my sins which he already paid for in the cross. Ask Jesus if he is real to reveal to you, he loves too much not to answer you. God bless you!
Whenever we leave the house on a trip, I try not to leave the car trunk open as I pack the car on the driveway because an open car trunk with luggage inside signals people going away for an extended period of time.
Bubba Blackmon I’ve left my car open with a note saying that there is nothing to steal I live in this neighborhood, I’m not dumb enough to leave anything in my car. I went down to my car to go to work and found a homeless man passed out in it lol
Years ago, in my city we had a terrible firestorm, much of the city was burning or in danger of being burnt, I was forced to evacuate, neighbors were so frightened they left doors and garages wide open, before I pulled away from my house I witnessed several trucks, two guys in them each,( Hispanics) windows down, looking right and left as they slowly drove thru my neighborhood, news reports following this disaster told of numerous homes being ransacked, be prepared mentally folks to dispense harsh justice when and if disaster hits your town, just a word to the wise.

I just had my house broke into today. Back door broken around 9am. I was up late studying for my final exams so I was fast asleep. They came into my bedroom to me just about waking up and they bolted out.
He said in the bedroom that’s where the safes are, what does he do when he encounters a safe? Are safes worth getting? What if it’s bolted down and burglar rated does he just leave it or focus his energy on the safe..? Wish he spoke more on the safe thing
1- When you in, always keep an eye of the outside 2- Stay 5 minutes maximum inside 3- Think bout all theses cams today...(ringbell, ipcam, etc) and plan a good way to go home
This is why I only burglarize commercial businesses, less risky. Security is easy to avoid. Home owners with itchy trigger fingers and big dogs not so much. Better valuables too.
Outdated perspective regarding security systems, cameras and alarms being expensive these days. Under $1000 you can have Basic security system with cameras that are motion/temperature/light changes activated that records to the Cloud. Additionally most have ability to Text or Notify the home owner on Mobile. Bedroom is where items with more value or guns are stored. Lastly some homeowners have insurance (deductible?) that covers Burglary or Theft.
I can fix that : Spare me. I have new windows and the energy savings is amazing. Current heating and cooling bill with a heat pump and A/C: $68. Changed to LED bulbs, saved $20 a month.
I can fix that.....You are right. Those new double pane windows are just a sales gimmick and are too damn expensive. They are known to fog up and leak within 20 years and it takes that long to be recouped on the energy savings. My old windows are fine. Just install a thermal shade to save energy costs.
All of my windows are covered with aluminum foil that I've taped on with duct tape. You can't see into my house at all from outside. No light enters or exits. Really hand when you get home from a 12 hour shift at 8 am and have to go to bed. Is that a deterrent?
@0:27 does anyone get what he means by "a lot of people won't put their boards in their sliding doors or their windows" That doesn't make sense to me..
Julia L you usually put a board in the sliding door track so it can’t be opened...same with the windows, put a board in it so it can’t be lifted open that way even if they break a pane of glass they can’t lift it open - they’d have to break all the glass and by then hopefully someone will hear/see. :)
OoOoO, I get it now! Thanks for the Reply Jennifer. I was wondering when I could figure out this board thing. HAha. At my home we use more like a stick. So I didn't realize other people used boards to do this :D Most of the times people don't use it because it's a pain to put it back every time you open close the door . O_o;
Julia L they definitely could’ve explained it better! And right?! It’s a total pain taking it off and putting it back but it’s an extra tiny bit of security I sure don’t mind doing ;) 💜
That's true Jennifer, but when you live with more people it becomes an extra pain because you have to nag someone else so might as well just forget it LOL. However, perks with living with more people is that there's almost always someone at home.
Yeah, when ADT, Cox, and Vivint came to my door claiming that I was "one of the last homes on the block to not be protected" I told them to screw off. If I were to get a system it'd be wireless with cameras and glass shatter sensors connected with my phone and the local police station, which are far more of a deterrent according to pro-burglars, than these mass market, monthly subscription types.
Dude is giving an MBA. Master in Burglar Administration. and they on that house at 4:51 they could at least bury the burglar. They shot just and left him in the stairs.
So I’m getting a new house and it is not in the perfect place but it’s very open so people would see you going in. Also my biggest fear is that someone will break in at night so now this helps me not be too scared. I am want so ever no scared that someone would break in, in the morning because I hate to stay home alone so I would never really be home alone. So this is good tips. Thank you for the tips.
The sign outside myself does not say ADT. It says.......... “We dont call 911, no prisoners will be taken” The two houses on both sides of mine have been burglarized. The one infront had an attempted break in. Why has mine been ignored? Jeez I will never know. 2nd amendment! Use it
Burglars forget to tell a friend or family member where they will be and how long they expect to be gone! So when they end up shot dead and buried, fate at work! Dangerous career choice!

When I was around 10 a burglar walked in our house UNFORTUNATELY for him my father was sitting in the livingroom with his 357 lucky for him my dad just called the cops

robert winton I rather be in jail then dead.... most people who rob houses are armed and you cant take any chances!! If someone in your home you have to protect your family no matter what.
Lol In Texas you can shoot them as long as you feel in danger and they are in your house.
No one steals TVs anymore, just take Phones, tablets, laptops, cash and jewlery.
I have no cash , no jewelry and all electronics have tracking in it ;).

Thanks for great tips! Don't get caught guys
8:45 if the alarm goes off.... Wait wait let me interrupt you there and never get back to your crucial thought, because my sense of importance in this conversation is suffering.
No
What a bastard. The burglar was going to say something interesting if alarm goes off and he just intentionally interrupts him
I only check the mail once or twice a week. It's all junk mail anyway... does that mean I'm going to be robbed?
Yeah, same here. I only check mine like once a week or so.
Yes
Don't forget a machine gun, land mines and a rabid shark moat 🦈
Unless they give your Animal fentanyl
Thanks for the common sense info!
State laws do vary, but anyone who enters my home without permission is not going to leave it alive. I have no moral issue with killing a home invader at all.
What if it was just a kid, you would easily shoot anyone if they entered your home, even if they were surrendering.
Sounds like a lot of detective interviews and courtroom time.

Did the news just showed as how to rob a house?
We bought the best safe we could find. It is bolted to the concrete of our garage. All of my jewelry well, that’s hidden in places around the house. Not in my jewelry drawer not in my dresser drawer not under a mattress and I’m certainly not gonna tell you here on TH-cam. But use your imagination. Don’t hide your jewelry in your room or any of the places that he mentioned because that’s the first place they are going to go to. I don’t even keep my jewelry in the safe. And this criminal should be in prison.
My mom got robbed. They took some checks she didn’t miss for a while, but her jewelry was in the freezer in a can marked bacon fat. Worked for her.

@@SirenaSpades I hope you are safe and well after that traumatic event. I don't know what drives people to do these things. Probably desperation.

Great tips! Ill definitely remember this for next time!

Good video- Its about 5-6 yrs old and home security systems are VERY affordable today.
No way to know
I pull out my phone and take pictures of people and cars that might be sketchy and I let them see me doing it.
When I’m driving, if I see someone walking around that looks out of place or a car driving around suspiciously, I always hit the save button on my dash cam and file the video for later. It may be needed later.
your a smart lady, all good advice.
Pretending to be people walking for exercise. I've had that happen.
Thank you so much for the good advice. It will come in handy in my chosen career.
4:13 Basically anyone who lives there watching this video became paranoid of home invasions
I always have advocated the amputation of the hands of burglars upon conviction.
Go to Saudi Arabia and sign up to be a policeman mate, You can cut the hands off burglars all day long.
Narcan = survival of the weak.

I thought the same thing. Seemed like he wanted to make it easier for thefts to happen. I sure as hell wouldn't want people looking through my windows
Fr, he's literally giving reverse psychology
His telling the viewers to keep their drapes up to make burglary easier for himself
If the mail box is full that sometimes means people are too broke to pay their bills. They don't even check it because they know it's BILLS lol
@KyleIboshi, I would like to see an updated version that gets a thief's perspective on security cameras.
I'm putting up a no solicitors sign. Going to let my neighbors know so they can watch out if anyone comes on the property. I have an alarm system but I have heard so many things as to why you should use it, why you shouldn't that I'm confused. Maybe when I get the security cameras in I will put it out.
Helpful information, thank you!
Imagine watching this and seeing your house as the burgler says it's an easy target

Once a burglar, always a burglar...
Unless you give your life to Christ and truly repent from your sins.
New York is famous for smash and grab car theft. I saw a sign in a car that read " No radio no nuthin".
Bubba Blackmon I’ve left my car open with a note saying that there is nothing to steal I live in this neighborhood, I’m not dumb enough to leave anything in my car. I went down to my car to go to work and found a homeless man passed out in it lol
Then you come back to a smashed window with a note on the seat, "just checkin'" ;O)
I never answer the door when someone knocks. Break in and get shot.
Hell check for cars
Years ago, in my city we had a terrible firestorm, much of the city was burning or in danger of being burnt, I was forced to evacuate, neighbors were so frightened they left doors and garages wide open, before I pulled away from my house I witnessed several trucks, two guys in them each,( Hispanics) windows down, looking right and left as they slowly drove thru my neighborhood, news reports following this disaster told of numerous homes being ransacked, be prepared mentally folks to dispense harsh justice when and if disaster hits your town, just a word to the wise.

Pro Tipp: Check the letters and car hoods.
He said in the bedroom that’s where the safes are, what does he do when he encounters a safe? Are safes worth getting? What if it’s bolted down and burglar rated does he just leave it or focus his energy on the safe..? Wish he spoke more on the safe thing

Mail in the mailbox is a huge clue that no one is home.
When I'm home and someone knocks when I'm not expecting company I just don't answer it.
1- When you in, always keep an eye of the outside
2- Stay 5 minutes maximum inside
3- Think bout all theses cams today...(ringbell, ipcam, etc) and plan a good way to go home
Dude sounds like he still does it
Keep your old windows they will last you over 200 years compared to new wich will last 20 at the most
I can fix that that sounds exactly like what a robber would say!
I have my old double pane windows and awnings. The awnings keep the house cool and the windows clean.

All of my windows are covered with aluminum foil that I've taped on with duct tape. You can't see into my house at all from outside. No light enters or exits. Really hand when you get home from a 12 hour shift at 8 am and have to go to bed. Is that a deterrent?
soooo hide your stuff in the dark part of the basement behind the furnace?
@0:27 does anyone get what he means by "a lot of people won't put their boards in their sliding doors or their windows" That doesn't make sense to me..
Julia L you usually put a board in the sliding door track so it can’t be opened...same with the windows, put a board in it so it can’t be lifted open that way even if they break a pane of glass they can’t lift it open - they’d have to break all the glass and by then hopefully someone will hear/see. :)
OoOoO, I get it now! Thanks for the Reply Jennifer. I was wondering when I could figure out this board thing. HAha. At my home we use more like a stick. So I didn't realize other people used boards to do this :D Most of the times people don't use it because it's a pain to put it back every time you open close the door . O_o;
I enjoyed this thanks.

That's one long ride to the police department
Cut the phone line and cable lines.
Yeah, when ADT, Cox, and Vivint came to my door claiming that I was "one of the last homes on the block to not be protected" I told them to screw off. If I were to get a system it'd be wireless with cameras and glass shatter sensors connected with my phone and the local police station, which are far more of a deterrent according to pro-burglars, than these mass market, monthly subscription types.

and they on that house at 4:51 they could at least bury the burglar. They shot just and left him in the stairs.

What are robber’s most likely wearing when searching houses?
Now days 85 percent of homeowners have security cameras inside and out. The burglar may initially get away, but eventually be caught.
