What Will These Repairmen Do for Easy Garage Door Fix?

- When something breaks in your house, you rely on the repairman who comes to fix it. But how do you know if they're charging hundreds, even thousands for repairs you don't need? Inside Edition rented a house in Montclair, New Jersey, for an entire month, tricking it out with cameras and then calling the fix-it guys to see what happened. In the first in a special series of investigations, Inside Edition enlisted two experts, Mark McManus with Door Boy and Andrew Cimmino with Christie Overhead Door, to assess the garage door. Both assured it was in perfect working order. Then, they created a minor problem the experts say any repairman should be able to instantly recognize and fix. So what happened next? #InsideEdition
They should also name all the other 5 honest repairmen. Would help their biz.
no way, those honest biz didnt pay for the tv time, so they wont get mention.
Great comment.
Only the bad get the press. The good get jack.
For doing their job like they're supposed to?
Nathan Williams the scammers were doing their job like they’re supposed to. What about for having integrity.
I used to work for one of those companies wont say which. I would get in trouble if I only fixed the safety eyes. Preferably you want to realign the safety eyes then inspect the rest of the door so you can find stuff to upsell.
they should have given those honest men some more screen time

Should have placed the company names and phone numbers there. Give them some free advertising.
Not in this society!!!!

I was hoping for a racist repair man considering....

Lol fr shout them out
The guys who did right should get a better shout out rather than just “thanks dude” now we gotta find someone to give us the content we really need

They won't get a shout out cause they didn't pay for one
But atleast we know which ones not to get
I think it's on the first guys shirt, but I don't know if it is-

Why only mention Sears for being honest? I’m sure all the other 5 independent companies could have used a shout out a lot more !!
Probably just to let people know that Sears' monumental business failings over the past 40 years has apparently not killed all their stores. Just the ones around where I live lol

I love these. I do electronics repairs for a living and too often I’ve had complaints about other repair shops quoting crazy prices for easy fixes. But I think the worst thief is apple themselves telling almost all their customers they need to buy a new device because theirs is not repairable. I open the device and boom, found the problem and fixed.
No sir. Easy fix must be impossible and cost 2000$ plus 500$ shipping fee and 3000$ tip 👦🏿👳🏽♂️👳🏽♂️
That’s why you look at reviews & compare prices if you want...
Stefano Gomez some reviews can be faked
Hey Keyword “some”. If it’s fishy you can call & ask information about them & to send you pictures of their work...
Searching TH-cam for videos related to the problem also works. You'll be able to see if it's a simple repair you can fix yourself or something that requires a repairman. I repaired my garbage disposal this way without paying a penny to fix the problem.
Or these days, you can fix it yourselves. Using a popular thing called the internet.
Stefano Gomez and they can lie about their work by sending fake pictures

Me: bruh wrong my dad fixing all this stuff
I had been in in a service call where the opener sensors came loose and likely was “hand tighten” during initial installation. Always use a nose needle pliers to tighten the wing nut to the bolt, which will provide a better grip of the bolt
The Sear Guy wasn't in business for himself so highly unlikely to cheat someone.☺
What if you could alter paperwork and numbers say you got paid for 236$ I stead of 415$ you feel me.. idk I could be wrong
There is also a possibility he gets payed by the hour. So to him there is no point in getting his hands dirty in a job that will still only take him 1hour tops.
@@jakeruiz1446 Unlikely. They do these transactions with credit cards these days, you can't split that bill. Sears sees the transaction. Any more fiddling around that it gets to be undeniable fraud, they can't just say, oh it's an honest mistake.

@@antonydabossman4001 just like getting paid under the table, cash and no tax means that $400 is all his.

Then someone would end up in jail and it wouldn’t be the garage door repair man. Think people think. Geez.
This is why when you find a great repair/plumbing/electrical/auto repair/etc company: reward them with your business and QUIT beating them up over price! When you can trust someone to do the RIGHT thing and charge a fair rate: help them stay successful!
@Ray Myers, This is an excellent point! I'm a repair man myself. I have always done honest work, at lower rates than the big guys.
But if a customer starts to nickel and dime me, or hassle me about my fee, I stop answering their calls. Go hassle the company that over charges you.
@@AbcAbc-sp1od Honestly...I think some buyers never learn that. They think it's 'smart' to save as much of their money as possible and I understand that. But do I want a professional like you or do I want someone that takes forever, doesn't show up, does a D- job...just so I can try to beat them up on price and feel smart? I think 'smart' is getting real value. And the litmus test on that is if I'm in a real bind and I can trust you to offer real advice: that trust is everything.
