I took AA flagship in May SYD-LAX-PHL-DCA. Specifically selected the route to get a domestic wide body on LAX-PHL. Crazy how different the domestic service was after SYD-LAX. I asked for a pillow and blanket because obv I was still a bit tired but had a flat bed. FA looked at me and simply said “no” and walked away. I’ve seen Qantas hand give them to domestic economy pax on request…
I like AAs 777-300 ER in business class. The mini cabin rows 3 and 4 is great and private and served first though you can pre order. The Flagship lounges in MIA are OK as well.
I have a relative that is a 30+ years Flight Attendant, and she told me that the one route she hated working more than any other was NYC to Miami. She said the people on those flights were the rudest she ever encountered.
Very True! Flight Attendants and Gate Agents HATE working the New York to Florida and back Flights the MOST, unless the Agents and Flight Crew are Native New Yorkers and Floridians, LOL. Especially agents and flt crews from New York, they do not take Crap from ANYBODY.
10:52 It’s funny how certain TV shows are great go-tos when flying. I also love watching Modern Family when flying even though I don’t typically watch it on the ground. Not sure why some shows just work better in the air … I guess they’re light comedies in which it doesn’t matter if you miss something etc, and you can start with any episode and it’s basically self-contained. 🤔
You can access American Admirals lounges and Flagship lounges on arrival of an AA or OneWorld flight provided you hold OneWorld Sapphire or better with any airline except Alaska or AA
Im almost positive you can enter with Alaska too because the whole reason they must be admitted is due to the language of the One world alliance agreement that other airline status holders can enter, so Alaska should also be included.
@@damnimloomin I'm confused what you mean. Are you saying that Alaska Airline Sapphire status holders can enter Alaska and American lounges when travelling domestically? That's not the case per the OneWorld terms and conditions which have specific carve outs for those two airlines preventing them from entering on such itineraries. On the other hand, if you're referring to accessing an Alaska lounge when travelling domestically as a OneWorld Sapphire elite from any program except that of Alaska/AA, then yes you can access Alaska lounges. Indeed, flying between LA and Seattle last year I used my Qantas Gold elite status to enter the Alaska lounge at LAX no problem. One thing to keep in mind is that Alaska's lounges doesn't have the generous on arrival access policy that American lounges have.
Do you know there's a lay flat route from Boston to NYC? You could see if early in the morning. I do not know if it's still available. It's a 35 mins flight.
Another awesome video and blows my mind where you get all the information so well done. Only disagree with your power preference when my mate found out all the hidden issues when approached to lease his land in Benalla for a huge solar farm. And only one of the issues is the underground copper wiring which can leak into the soil and glass contamination if hail damages the panels. Pay high rent BUT. You can never trust these companies will manage or rectify problems. They just go into administration and run. Travel safe and thanks for the info on the Gold access and guess like me you will take advantage of the double status offer ending Thursday. 😉✈️
The meme still in throughout still get me! Though I will say, given the flight was from Miami to New York missed opportunity to add in some stuff from Devil Wears Prada.
how the heck did you score access to the flagship lounge on a domestic flight? it is only supposed to be open to those on an international flight, flying business or first, or a transcon business or first. AA employees often have no what they're doing, anyway- I once flew MIA-LAX, in First on a 777-300ER, and the guy downstairs in the lounge did not give me the laminated card; a woman upstairs guided me to the admirals club, which I contested and she was ugly aggressive. I literally said to her; if the guy downstairs does not know how to do his job, it is not my challenge, and if you don't know the access rules, that is a different problem. ( finally got into the lounge when another person intervened )
Access is permitted if you hold OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald status as long as that status isn’t from American Airlines or Alaska (I.e Qantas OneWorld Sapphire would you get you access on departure and arrival)
American is contractually required to let in other airlines status holders but not their own so they make American status holders go to the admirals club rather than reward their own status members. I always recommend being a member of Alaska airlines since you get more perks than Americans own frequent fliers ☠️
5:48 Well, can you blame him for catching a few more glaces over the most delish aviation TH-camr now? ☺️ Simon first, Cahill second, Dan (with stubble) third ☺️ All excellent content and have their own unique touches and style of sharing. Such a golden era to be an AVGeek.
American is trying to catch up to UAL and DL, it’s a slow process so luckily you found an upgraded segment. Your videography is more engaging than most transport focused YT’ers. How do you selfie video while walking? 360?
I've noticed AMERICANS often don't even know how much nuclear they have - I've shown a few a map of the reactors and the reaction is often "oh shit, I have one near me?" LMAO. Probably a smart strategy to be lowkey about it
American airlines is a good airline. Not as good as Air Koryo. Did you know that it is banned in the EU because the airline was a threat to other EU carriers?

Now we really need a Simon Tech Channel!
VB longneck meme completely unexpected, but very appreciated
I agree
Needed the “fucken” though
Absolute ripper. Fair dinkum Aussie right there.
Good on that AA Exec for replying to that email. Cudos to him.
That response certainly gives him an air of status: Executive Platinum status one might say!
New subscriber! love the content. The style and comedy really makes this channel stick out against the other flying channels.
Two things I learned in this video. 1: I had no idea AI was so energy intensive. 2: the word yeeted 😂
Another great video Simon 😁
he likes you hahahah thats why he's looking
i love the bits about random research! im from NJ and didnt know we had power plants here
In regards to nuclear in the USA - never seen the Simpsons?
First facts for telling me about nuclear power plants

Please do some review (if you can) of europeans business class (short and long-haul) like Air France, Lufthansa, BA and others
Super video as usual !
We would actually watch Simon's Tech Channel, though.
Bravo, Deano! Another excellent vlog. With added nuclear tangent. Highly informative. Why was that Flight Attendant staring at you?????

What happened with your bag at the end of the video that left you "fuming"? Went back and listened a couple of times but I couldn't make it out.

Question... HOW MANY CAMERAS DO YOU HAVE, Btw I have a channel with my friend so just wondering, whats that 360 camera you have.
6:04 - That also happened on my EK flight
Heads up: you can go into SETTINGS in the AA IFE interface and TURN OFF all those annoying animations!!
did you forget about the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant?
The Japanese reactor in Fukushima is supplied by a US company Westinghouse! :)
Great diversion into power!
When’s Fiji with mum coming out 👀

I've been on a delta flight where the windows were down at take off and landing. Nothing unusual in USA
Bro is sponsored by DJI i just realized 🤯

Ehm… new-clear…. Not new-cular 😂
length is good, 6 inches".........hahaha
8:35 They're 5h1t Simon!
First! Love a drop from flight formula
11:57 don’t forget Taiwan 🇹🇼
Tangent! 😂
I suspect the FA thought you were a BOB 🙂
I only recently learnt that term, along with my favourite: “Gate lice” 😂
@@FromtheWindowSeat Gate lice is the worst! Another one for you is Lounge Lizard, those who hang in lounges for hours on end before their flight.
1.03...: looks like a mess...and not like a breakfast...Sorry🤣
Don't you remember the Simpsons

Simon, please learn how to pronounce 'nuclear' correctly. It spoilt an otherwise good video.
he makes good videos but he'll never escape his greatest sin 😢being australian
See Billy Connolly video ya prick, haha
Different pronunciation in UK Vs US English...
I'm sure they use lots of aluminium in the plants as well.
