Great video demonstrating what is POSSIBLE with the HUD. And nice landing in the Cat III conditions. It's so annoying to read all the comments criticizing the landing after no visual at DH. It's clearly a demo for fun, and no real people were harmed in the making of this vid. Arm chair experts take a break.
nice landing!, i can never adjust the sound of the engines in the MJDash8, its always one level , even with fsx is minimized, the only way for me is turn everything down or press q. any one any ideas how to set it?
That is quite unreal.. Dash Q8-400 does not support CATIII / Autoland! Only CATII approaches are possible for that aircraft.. If you don't get the runway insight by passing the DA - go around ;-) But anyway, I like the video
Why is it so hard for some people to just watch the video for what it is? They are just showing the heads up display in poor visibility so you can see what to possibly expect if you haven't done it yourself. There always seems to be a post by someone stating how something "should" have been done better or they have broken the rules etc. If this was real life with real lives at stake, you would have a good case, but it's just a simulator.
Those trees seemed a bit close at 2:56 given there's a turbo prop and a wing over that side somewhere!

Which ILS category is the Dash 8 Q 400 certified for, when having a HUD? I was never able to figure out exactly!
CAT 2
@@taylordevries7730 Thank you!
@@Altenholz it's actually certified for CAT III when equipped with an HGS (HUD).
Nooooo waaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!!this is amaaaaaazing!!!!!!!whele done my friend!!!!
Amazing job with the creation!
Thank you for all the comments. Please note that full IMC (CATIIIa) landing is a part of the approved simulator training for this type of the HGS
This is amazing!
How did you have the HUD?
Nice job Captain!
"Landing in IMC conditions" doesn't mean that if at DH I haven't got the visual contact with the runway I'll land anyway!
Great video!
IRL you'll not be allowed to hand fly this approach in this atrocious weather! Great flying though👍
Rishav Kakati yeah you are. A CAT III in the Q400 has to be hand flown from 500ft down
That looks like P3D. Does it run well in P3D V3?
+qqqqhuz not yet :(
Bummer!

No tryna brag or anything, but if you dont have the runway in sight at "Minimums" ur supossed to go around..
> at DH
> runway not in sight
> still lands while almost flying into a tree
okay there buddy.
Mingwei Zhang who cares? it's a game

Q400 does support CATIII approaches, however it must be hand flown by the captain only, as he has the HGS, and to a DH of 50ft.
This thing cost fucking $90 wtf
"Very" impressed...;-)
