Bok.
@elalcirruspilot 200-300 isn't an American standard. 200 AGL is the decision altitude for a category 1 ILS. A category 3a has a DA of 100agl, 3b is 50agl, and 3c is no DA. There's also category 2, which has a DA of 100ft, but a larger visibility requirement than a 3a approach.
Lower than standard minimums are approved by FAA Letter of Authorization in the US. MANY airliners use the HGS to hand fly Cat IIIa approaches in the US, and in addition they have approval for Low Visibility TakeOff (lower than standard takeoff minimums) as an additional benefit. Alaska Airlines entire fleet is equipped with HGS, as well as Southwest and Delta. Jet Blue also, I believe.
If that was an actual approach to minimums - and I believe you - please tell me how you captured the video while you were flying the HGS approach? Any camera in the eye box must have interfered with the flying, surely?

Textbook CAT IIIa approach and landing. Its pretty routine now with even better systems than what was available 7 years ago.
wow... bravo bravo bravo!!! odlicno sljetanje
Astonishing technology
Need to adjust your camera refresh rate ,so view would be much better hopefully :)
CANT SEE SHIT
NICE JOB FOR EM PILOTS 10/10
Svaka čast!
why is the HUD fading in and reappearing? Is that a specific mode or because of the camera resonance with the display frequency?
Camera thing
The cameras frame rate is out of tune with the refresh rate of the HUD
Sweaty palms?
Thats Amazing! Man I bet that one was a lil scary :)
Little Scary Awesome Pilot Without HUD it would be impossible and he had to abort i bet.
Yep. Without a CAT III certified HUD, the only other way to accomplish this is with autoland.
It took us some time to get used to it...great device, but installation is lousy! :-)
This is awesome
gnarly
100... still dont see SHIT!! minimums - finally some markings!
That was a real minimums =P
What airline operates this airplane or sim?
Houdi2 croatia airlines, not sim, landing in Zagreb :D

Very disconcerting the HUD fading in and out !
That's the refresh rate of the HUD vs. the frame rate of the camera. It doesn't actually due that.
wow
