    Thank you so much! I thought my engine was fixing to go. Only 76k miles & well maintained, not loosing power, no awful engine sounds. This is going to save me money. Wish I lived in Florida I’d have you do it. Shari in Oklahoma City

    Great video. My 07 oil light and buzzer went off yesterday. Oil fine. So did oil change this am. Read a few comments about guys doing oil change and THEN light comes on. After I go for mid range drive tomorrow hopefully it doesn't, but if does, thanks to your video, be a quick fix. Cheers

    It was actually much easier to remove the air box, unbolt the fuse box mounting bracket. You should then be able to see the clip that is giving everyone a hard time on the sensor. I did it this way and it was so much easier than trying to get at it from underneath. I also had the power steering cooler in my way underneath.

      Cool I giving it a try. I understand with a lift under the car would be tough.

      The video shows that the mechanic went straight to the sensor without obstacles. I don't understand why you had so much hassle in doing the change up from under the car. But, i will find out soon how easy it is.

    I just changed my sensor...I abandoned the access via the top method....and put my cruiser on ramps ....my experience was that underneath is by far!!!.......the best method!!......mine is a turbo so maybe more clutter up top........I found enough room and no cooler in the way!

    Found there's a pin flaw in that tab that will cause the light to come on , I replaced the sensor and just pulled that pesky pin out and threw it away an i check it every year just in case,
    But the light never came back on an it runs fantastic on my 04 base 79k Cruiser.
    Thanks for sharing 👍🏼.

    I have a 2002 dodge stratus with high mileage but runs fantastic. I use it to commute back and forth to work about 120mi a day round trip m-f and sometimes about 50mi on weekends. I have to put about a half a quart of oil in it about every other week to top it off maybe longer because I just checked it and it was still full and I haven't put oil in it since I changed it not last weekend but the weekend before. Anyway I noticed this a while ago when I took the car on a long drive up a mountain that when I stopped the oil light flickered just once never noticed again until yesterday but only flickers on occasion when I put the car in park. The first time it did it I wasn't sure it actually came on because I just seen it for a split second and until now I realize that's what it was. Anyway valves don't seem to be ticking nor have I noticed any issues which I'm pretty good about noticing the slightest issue. The first time the light came on I was looking out the window and only seen it out of the corner of my eye but no other lights have come on so I assume that's the one. Also a couple dash bulbs went out and I ordered the replacements but they started working again so that's confusing lol. They also dim on occasion for a second but I've just replaced the alternator and battery a few months back and it still does it. Anyway only issue I'm concerned about it oil light. It is just a work car but it I'd like to run her until theirs nothing left lol.

    Thanks for the video but, I see that PT cruiser you are working on is a turbo and my 2005 is not. I am starting to find out that the oil pressure switch is not in the same location as turbo models. I am doing searches every where I can and it is still very elusive. I need to change mine because with 166000 miles on it the oil has travelled up to the ECU plugs and into the ECU. That's not good! I'll get it eventually.

    Thanks to this video I replaced a $20 oil pressure sensor on my 2007 pt cruiser instead of thinking the worst and jumping to the conclusion that the oil pump was on its way out. I found the exact same thing he did the sensor failed and was leaking oil into the sensor connector shorting it out and giving a false warning.

    I have a 2008 pt cruiser. Pearl is making noise in the oil pan but, the motor runs good. Sounds like it was the harmonic balancer, the tensioner pulley and alternator pulley, it wasn't. It's coming from the bottom of the oil pan. Is this a job I can do myself?

  • @JoeyDNetsfan
    @JoeyDNetsfan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. My 2004 cruiser is shutting off at idle, today it happened at a red light waiting to make a turn. After it turned off, the battery light came on. i turned the car off then back on and it came on good, then turned out of the intersection to go to the bank, then a few seconds later, i get out the bank, turn on my car, wait a few seconds in idle, quite a rough idle too i should add, then the car turns off again, this time with no battery light, but only the oil light. These incidents happened within 5 minutes of each other. Once again , i turned the car off then back on again, and i successfully drove to work without any more stalling. I get out work then go home, and i didn't have any problems at all. I think the reason it happened is because i was driving on the highway shortly before those incidents occurred. Is it possible high speeds or temperature can cause the stalling/rough idles? Sorry for the long comment. I would like to know what this is before it gets worse and i get stuck at an intersection again, or if it gets worse...safety wise and/or financially. Thank you.

    • @cory5510
      @cory5510 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got an 04’ and I just rebuilt the engine and it runs beautiful, no oil leaks, and I still have that exact same problem. It was doing that before the rebuild. Usually only in hot weather it happens, never in cooler weather. I did take the oil pump apart and measured everything, it’s all to spec as in the manual, so I did not need a new oil pump. I am thinking maybe it’s the transmission torque converter because it only happens sometimes at idle, usually after driving on the highway. I did replace the oil pressure unit too.

    I like your video's Mr Cooper and if you want the kind of views Eric O and some of the others get I would buy a real video camera. It can be a cheaper one like the Sony HDRC440 (around $300) It will make all the difference in the world compared to the cell phone or tablet you're using to record with now. It might look fine on a cell phone screen but on a TV or real computer screen it leaves a lot to be desired.
    Get a new camera person as well, no point in having a camera person if they won't move the camera to actually see what your working when it's hidden behind a sub-frame or behind a control arm.
    You put out a lot of good info and have a good on camera personality, it's my thought is the video quality is holding your channel back. It could be I'm totally wrong and people only like watching videos of rust bucket vehicles...

      ESCAMILLA1130 Just to rule out oil pressure. Connect a manual or pressure gauge to the spot the oil center switch goes.
