I saw the one with Susan and then remembered that you were a lucky guy and are married to Joanna, so I stayed to watch this one. Very sweet memories together. I have not had the pleasure of seeing you or Joanna onstage, but Mr. Holland's Opus is one of my favorite movies of all time and I loved her in it...not a big part, but memorably done. Nice podcast, Chris...gotta love a guy who gardens AND cooks!
First time viewer. I liked & Subscribed. Had NO idea u 2 were married. Probably because I wasn't invited to the wedding. Oh don't apologize. You'd be surprised how many Celebrity weddings I'm not invited to. Anyway, been a fan of both of yours for years. Enjoyed the show very much. A show based on food. Right up my street! Looking forward to enjoying more of your videos. Here I'll share a food memory. In 3rd or 4th grade I'm sitting at a lunch table in school and my friend Nancy (who was kind of like the Peppermint Pattie of our group) was eating the same sandwich as me. Bologna. Only hers had like two skanky slices on white bread while mine was like a DELI SANDWICH thick on RYE. I'll never forget it. First time I ever thought about wealth. I just assumed my parents were rich and poor Nancy's family was poor.
This was so enjoyable and one of my very favorites of your podcast! You both are just such lovely people. I have a window into both Greek and Jewish culture, having grown up next door to a lovely Jewish family and later marrying a Greek man. Both rich cultures. I have stories of Ms Mimi and Ms. Rose fighting about crab cakes my mom sent over, Ms Rose was an orthodox Jew that ate only kosher food and Mimi eating everything. Ms Mimi had an old recipe for Jewish Apple cake that my mom made frequently. I have such fond memories of them. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Happy Valentine’s Day to you both ❤
Really enjoying your podcasts! Absolutely Love these wonderful stories and strolling down memory lane so refreshing. Yes! Remember the HOJO's clam roll, Loved those! Bringing back memories of the hearing my Mom tell stories of her Grandmother Mina cooking for hours, Jewish/German dishes. Please post Chicken Chris.
