- Customized 1961 Ford Econoline pickup. Jackie Bales talks with with it's owner, Rick Batsford. Very few were manufactured and this one was meant as a farm vehicle, but has been modified. The paint is silver and blue and the body is in great shape. It was shown at Founders Park in Islamorada. Subscribe to keep up with more vintage car videos.

I went looking for a pickup truck in 1971. The dealership had two in my trade/ price range. A late 40s truck and 1961 Ford econoline. I went home in the Econoline. I got to my hometown and saw a friend who ran a Tree Service working a job. I stopped to show him the truck. He tried hard to buy it from me. I kept it. Enjoyed it for awhile till in 1972 I traded it in for 1968 Dodge van to take a vacation trip with wife and 2 kids. With a mattress in the back it was great for the kids to sleep when tired.
I had two of these, and I loved them both. I still have a box for one . Arland Lindsley in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

It's got an 8 foot bed that never has to be made.
In1961( my birth yr) you had trucks and you had cars ( and only martians and ballsy men had bikes) , even mirrors were extra ( and blinkers on a harley) and until 66 or so they had no shiny trim , air conditioning people didn’t drive them for fun,that’s what you have to remember and admire about the 63 and older ,and ford and dodge were the the main “work “trucks , Chevy had indie suspension for comfort before the others.
Dodge made a truck very similar to this. The head lights gave it a hoot owl look, to me anyway. The Econoline just seems to have more personality. I saw one recently on Craigslist, in relatively good condition for $3500. No engine or transmission. Do you think it could be worth that price ?

This clip just made the wifes day! Been after an old class mates 65 for 11yrs and just made a trade on sat to take his COE in trade for interior labor on his 55 Chevy 2dr post. We have a 58 ford 300 custom we have owned 47+ yrs, and in 1999 had framed off and frame done in ford royal blue metalic and body to be the same silver & blue has your truck,,,Wow,,,Love the truck !!!
