Thank you so much for this beautiful and enchanting video. I'm currently in high pain thanks to the second covid vaccine, this lifted my spirits. Thank you so much
Absolutely Beautiful!! Was not ready for it to end! It reminds ( in small ways) the walking path I go to. How it bring a sense of calm and peacefully. And you video had me wanting to go out and explore and to find something new!! I really wish I could come to Japan!! Thank you so much for allowing us to live these adventures and explorations with you through the lens of your camera! EPICNESS! Just EPIC!
30 minute countdown. Its 30 degrees here in Ireland so stuck in with my little ones so nice to see this pop.up. the image reminds me of similar ancient stone carvings done by monks in ireland.
*sigh* this is so beautiful. Wish I had a house so that I could have my own Japanese garden overrun with moss. I'm currently reading Yoshifumi Miyazaki's book on Shinrin Yoku and I realize the body's need to be surrounded by all the greenery. I envy you.
Concerning the cave tunnel, I love when a trail goes through places like that. In Pennsylvania, I was on a trail that had stairs and some tunnels that were etched out of the gigantic rocks and boulders in the area. It’s a lot of fun.
That slot carved into the rock was amazing, such a perfect wabi-sabi portal. So insane that nobody is there and you have it all to yourself. The red walkway is insanely gorgeous, I’d totally spend all day right there. It’s not weird to be taken back by the beauty of one individual tree. Don’t miss the trees from the forest
Norm this is amazing, I am so jealous right now. Just got done mowing the yard in 90 F heat with 90% humidity. Saw you streaming Ghibli inspiration and putting off a much needed shower now lol
I'm quite sure that i will never visit japan myself, being a penniless bum that i am, so thank you for showing us this side of the country - the nature and the serenic beauty of it.
Seriously one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.. and so nice to see cos I'm layed up in bed with a really screwed up back so this cheered me up Thanks Norm
I'm watching this while waiting for the trees outside my house to finally turn green. Loved the green moss, the rays of sunlight, and the magical Ghibli vibe. Thank you for bringing us along.
I'm always thrilled about how "casual" japanese gardens look, while actually being so meticulously groomed without it being immediately noticable - because they emphasize the natural beauty in the first place. The beauty of the naturally looking gardens is so much more pleasing to the eye vs. the over-groomed european style parks and gardens. So much to discover. I recently watched a documentary about Shunmyo Masuno - very, very interesting.
I am sure I would have accidentally cut across the unblocked moss at some point as I would be gazing around a lot. The temple is so beautiful. Thanks Norm for wetting your feet for us.
Such a beautiful temple and grounds! The water, moss and trees make it feel so magical and totally Ghibli. Definitely on my list of things to see in Japan.
I've already watched this twice since the premier, and I think it's going to be in heavy rotation for me! This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It just looks so peaceful and lush! the little tunnel was fantastic as well. What a find!
That red bridge is very gorgeous, the greenery surrounding it makes it kinda like a secret passage. Totally going to visit this place on my trip to Japan!!
I've recently discovered your blog so I've been vicariously walking with you through the various sights of Japan. I'm mainly interested in the traditional villages, temples with splendid cedars and variegated moss. Lots of ancient "Mother" trees whose roots as well as the vast underground fungal network connecting them to their seedlings and saplings as well as the rest of the forests. You were amazed in one of your videos about a sapling growing out of an old stump, which actually is a nurse log or mother tree. Anyway, I loved the hidden cavern behind the temple in this video, the statues, ponds with koi, and hearing about how pigeons don't like red so temples had red to them to discourage them. Japan is so beautiful and exquisite like a haiku poem in the making everywhere you look. I look forward to more of your walks through Japan. Jenny from Seattle. p.s. We used to walk with a stick held vertically in front of us in Texas because of the enormous yellow and black Garden spiders.
OH MY GOSH! my heart just skipped a beat, I cannot believe this is the temple you visited. In 2019 I went to ishikawa prefecture and stayed in a small city called Komatsu with my family. This was my favourite temple that we visited it was so visually stunning and peaceful. I hardly see any publicity on Ishikawa apart from Kanazawa, this has made my year I feel like I’m reliving my holiday. Thank you so much for this Norm!
once again you have excelled in the amount of interesting and beautiful places you show us.if i may explain ,i am a 60 year old chap living in the uk.due to health reasons it would be almost impossible for me to visit japan .insurance is high and cost of flights etc. my obsession with this beautiful country has lasted over 55 years all starting with a postcard of japan i found in my grandfathers posessions.you and the rest of the youtube crew are a life saver for me.you mention people who live there lives through your content...this is true in my case.as a musician of 45 years i fear i caused most of my health problems so i shouldnt complain.thank you for your work .i look forward to everyone you produce .all the best .tony .uk.
My mom told me about your channel a few months ago and I have finally had a chance to watch a few videos. I am so glad she told me about it. I love the content!
It's beautiful, this may be the first time I actually love seeing the moss. I really wish I could come to see this place with my own eyes and thank you TOKYO LENS for showing the beauty of Japan.
OMG Norm! That is so beautiful. My list of places that I HAVE to visit is getting larger every time I am watching your explorings. The moss, the trees...also the short tunnel, so interesting. I would like to explore this area by myselfe sooo badly. Thank you for taking us there :)
My dude, these are perfect for playing while I get my morning routine going right after I wake up because you match the serenity of the place with the tone of your voice. Of course I'll have to watch it more than once to get a good look at the sceneries though!
I think you can definitely have a break through those walks, of course! Just find a nice place, take a break, have a snack and just talk to people. I don't think your audience will mind it. Or even just let people take in the view and surrounding sounds while you take a breath or snack. Because you see, it's sad that nowadays people don't visit much nature, but it's still helpful to remind yourself what you are missing. And that's why there are soo many relaxing nature videos with nature sounds on TH-cam with tons of views!
I'm so happy to look every single video. Especially the ones in nature. It is like holiday from home. Thank you for sharing this amazing advantures with us!
Grateful to go along with you on this gorgeous tour! My mom is recovering from surgery so I put this on, and it was a wonderful escape! We honestly felt like we were right there with you. I always enjoy the balance you strike, mixing interesting background info with your own narration and discoveries. Thanks Norm! 🌸
Found this channel a few days ago, watched the latest video and then decided to watch all the videos from the start. Thank you for showing the wonderful sights and sounds of Japan!
Thank you so much for this video. You could do an hour video there easy. I have found where I am going to haunt when I die. I am 65 and at the rate I'm going I will never see these beautiful places so I really appreciate you taking us there. How fortunate you are to be able to go to these places and thanks to you and TH-cam and technology those of us who can't get there can experience their beauty. Now all we need is a way to get the scent of the forest through the video.
love these nature focused ones, here's to hoping you'll manage to take us to the mononoke forest in the future, maybe even uncover why they changed the name while you're there, sounds like a fun adventure
What a beautiful spot, I could spend so long in places like this. There’s nothing weird about enjoying the beauty of something simple like trees. I took the natural beauty of trees for granted. Until I got into bonsai, Now everywhere I go I see trees so differently. 🌲🌲🌲
I love these longer videos because I put them on the background while I'm working or doing other stuff.... except when I have to stop to take notes not to forget to visit in person most of the places you show 😂.
stunning. I felt the peacefulness as you walked us through. I love mossy areas and mountains as well as the incredible variety of trees and shrubs. This is my first viewing of your channel, and i have subscribed to see more. You are so lucky to be there.
I enjoy going on these walks with you! your commentary is a casual, funny convo. I love it. I don't have to look at you to hear you talking, and we are just walking together in the forest, the best
Such a beautiful temple! Thank you for sharing all of these lovely areas, I’ve got a growing list of places in Japan to go to when we’re able to travel again, all thanks to your videos!
Absolutely love this. The greenery is so refreshing. I really appreciate your narration and calm voice. Wish one day i would be able to visit all these places
Yes, thank you very much! I thoroughly enjoyed the greenery, the moss, the trees," the foliage ", the bird sounds... All of it! That is my type of forest! I could spend all day there without a doubt! Much needed view for my eyes! I feel like i even started breathing deeper while watching, just as you tend to do in a forest- taking in all the fresh air! 🌞❤🍀
The man-made structures take well advantage of the hills by how the terraces and bridges overlook parts of the garden. It's really the critters you meet that add to the Ghibli feel. The koi bois, the tadpoles, cicadas, spiders, ..., a tiny lizard (a stair mascot?)!🦎 Admit that the cave passage adds to it too. Would've loved to see closeups of the small statues and monuments.
I just love your videos and sharing some sights I may never see in my lifetime. Cannot wait to watch another but three today is enough, given that it is almost midnight here. I am addicted to the exploration videos.
I'm such a sucker for moss, people get annoyed at me talking about it so much. that place looks so perfect. the perfectly smooth flat stone path is so satisfying too. I hope I'll get the chance to visit that place one day.
This is only the second video I’ve watched. wow this is such a beautiful area, absolutely stunning. What a treat as currently in hospital. Felt the need to comment as you walk and get excited for the littlest things just like me and my daughters. I was really admiring two oaks we came across a week or so ago, because they were just so picture perfect. And were extremely pleased about a new to us beetle (mint beetle). So just wanted to say thanks for giving me a walk exactly as I like. 😊
What a cool "key passage" out the side of a temple through a large rock formation - off to a secret, sacred place! 🤠It would have been cool if you could've called ahead and maybe gotten special permission to continue upward to the sacred spot. But the side-route is picnic-worthy!
Beautiful, Norm, thank you for this beautiful walk through Natadera. I was just thinking that this whole place would be so beautiful in the fall and winter when you mentioned it.
This is sooooo beautiful! Definitely putting on my list of places to visit! That little cave tunnel was absolutely stunning ❤️ thank you for sharing this!
wwwwoooohhhhh soooo green and awesome looking!!!!!!
So peaceful, deffinately added to my "go see when in Japan" list. Thanks so much Norm!
whoaa that place is crazy considering moss normally tends to grow on north facing sides of trees and such !! I'm sure the air and atmosphere in this place are so relaxing and fresh to clear your mind at
Sippin on a sencha while watching all this green. I feel green inside and out.

So green and beautiful and yes very Ghibli-esque
30 minute countdown. Its 30 degrees here in Ireland so stuck in with my little ones so nice to see this pop.up. the image reminds me of similar ancient stone carvings done by monks in ireland.
An Irish here also, yeah exactly like the ancient carvings in Ireland
This looks like a trailer to ancient Hindu temples.. awesome
At 8:00 by the koi pond, over that there looks like a giant skull in the rock face. Or maybe it's just me 🤷🏼♂️
it looks like a moss covered fairy tale land. so beautiful and peaceful.
That slot carved into the rock was amazing, such a perfect wabi-sabi portal. So insane that nobody is there and you have it all to yourself. What a beautiful and tranquil spot. And the part that has been cut from the stone just amazing.
Seriously one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.. and so nice to see cos I'm layed up in bed with a really screwed up back so this cheered me up
Thanks Norm
This place is beautiful. I'm going to have to watch this again when I have my sketchbook and paint with me.
I'm watching this while waiting for the trees outside my house to finally turn green. Loved the green moss, the rays of sunlight, and the magical Ghibli vibe. Thank you for bringing us along.

Japan's nature is breathtaking. I prefer her nature over city life. Thank you for sharing her beautiful scenery. Its one of a kind.

Dude, that is some of the most amazing and astonishing scenery for epic photos! Forget the Instagram trends.
I loved the Mononoke forest video. It was so gorgeous. This is a lovely companion piece.
that 3 story pagoda is beautiful and honestly everything else in the video, the amazing weather as well much make the experience 10x better.
This place is so beautiful and so dreamy! It makes want to come back to Japan as soon as possible (oh nostalgia!) Thank you for taking us with you 😍🌸⛩
Oh how could you have ever left there?? If I could go there I might never leave.

Super beautiful place! Feels like one of those places that you just could spend a whole week in and still be in awe
What a stunning place to explore! It really does have that magical Ghibli feel to it. I also don't think I've ever seen so much moss in one place.
I am just in awe of places like this. The 4k shows it off very very well!
Found this channel a few days ago, watched the latest video and then decided to watch all the videos from the start. Thank you for showing the wonderful sights and sounds of Japan!

What a beautiful space. This has been a lovely way to spend some time this morning. Thanks, Norm!

Thank you for this beautiful adventure through a moss-covered wonderland.
Watching this made me start a to-go bucket list with this as the first entry!
What a great place for a morning walk
Honestly, green is possibly my favorite color.
EDIT: 25:00 looks so much like my home area here in Tennessee!
That temple that they went through the natural formed stone to create path was pretty darn neat.
This jinja is totally my jam. I'll be sure to put this in my bucket list.
Your videos are like Bob Ross. True calm enjoyment to watch. You really see the passion how you make the videos. Really much appreciated.
Binge watching while I wait for the live 😊 also that little cave walk through at the shrine was lovely absolutely looks like a childhood dream. 😊

Oh my gosh! This was beautiful, very whimsical and definitely straight out of a Ghibli film. Thank you as always for brining us along! :)

We always get really lucky when we positively have to record a walk.
Love the peaceful talking you've got going on, I watched this before sleep and I feel more calm then I often do this time!
oh my god 8:00 that is gorgeous, this place is full out fantasy, it's crazy
Absolutely stunning garden. thank you norm much appreciated 👍❤️
Beautiful, Norm, thank you for this beautiful walk through Natadera. I was just thinking that this whole place would be so beautiful in the fall and winter when you mentioned it.
As you were walking, I was wondering about the scents of the forest. Especially on those closed off paths into the deeper parts of the temple complex.
This is sooooo beautiful! Definitely putting on my list of places to visit!
That little cave tunnel was absolutely stunning ❤️ thank you for sharing this!
OMG how beautiful! How Ghibli! 🤩 I can totally picture kodamas being amongst the trees and moss. 😊 💖
All in all places like this are so calming to see :)
Loved visiting places like this when I lived in Japan!
I do love Tokyo and other cities in Japan, but Japanese nature and countryside will always be Nr1 in my heart.
