Don’t forget to give that like bottom some love! This is going to be a fun one~
I love my like bottom
I can't wait to see to which island you went!
love the like bottom.. smacks it .. ビシバシ。。。ぺんぺんぺん 笑う!
@@bonsai-effect lol smack that like bottom!
Have you ever considered filming/uploading these at 60 fps?
Some of the shots, especially in this video, are so beautiful and it makes me want to see more of the in-between.
This is just awesome. An empty island, no humans, so much to explore. I could spend days on an island like this and not be bored for one second. Thanks for the adventure Norm.
You know I can't really see the spiderwebs from the monitor so whenever Norm clears out the webs all I see is him waving his stick like a magic wand like he's about to say wingardium leviosa hahaaa
widdy giddy
You have to go back and take us camping here!!! 😲
Yes yes yes!
Just got home from celebrating my gf getting her master's degree and my birthday. Glad to end our day watching this 💪♥️
Sweet! Congratulations to both of you! 🎉🎉🎉
@@mungbean345 thank you!! 💪♥️
I'm an Overhead Powerlines Patroller in England, so it was funny to me to see you go down a disused path on a mostly abandoned island to see a High Voltage switch pole, almost just like me on an average day 😂
You have to go back to this amazing island!!
"You're a wizard, Harry!"
"I shall cast Begone-ius Spiderwebbus!"
This is why I want to retire in Japan. It's got so much packed into it. Thanks Norm for showing us the beauty we can look forward to if we ever get to visit.
I was told to leave something so....... something. I love little villages like this. I feel like you can find the 'heart' of the people a lot easier than in a big city, and find more meaningful memories. History was strewn across that island with untold stories left to be discovered. I am sure all the secrets were beyond those pylons.
This island is really interesting, old defensive locations are, most of the time, interesting. Also what I always like in nature, is the sound of running water (plus points when it drops a bit).
That view at 34:02 looks like a waterpainting. Beautiful. That water up close is amazing, lovely blue.
Awesome livestream as always Norm. This was an amazing and epic adventure. Those stairs around the 40 min mark even watching on a screen it looked like you were going down even though you’re going up. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on your adventures.
I could feel your excitement, the lack of research can sometimes yield great content as we get to be surprised right along side you. 10/10!!

Look at those water currents, when I was there in the area last summer, I was half amazed and terrified that I can see such strong currents just a couple of meters off the shore.
it's also quite impressive how the ferry captains maneuver their boats quite nimbly in often tight spaces between islands
This was something to behold...As someone who has just recently moved from living in Ehime for 9 years to Nagano, I am so homesick for the ocean, remote little islands and mountain towns. This was so cool to see. I didn't manage to get to many of the islands that had limited ferrys, mainly made it to the ones that you could get too off of the bridges. The ammount of history packed into the area that nobody really knows about or talks about, be the forienger or locals, is really cool. I hope I can eventually move back to the area and check stuff like this as well as all the little mountain hamlets that have fallen off the map in recent years. Thank you for taking us along!
Sorry i missed your stream, but got my first washer and dryer... never has laundry been so entertaining.
Norm, this walk you took us on was gorgeous. Just the exact sort of place I like to go find, and the perfect time of year to go see it. Thank you for taking us with you!
Man this channel never bores me. We’re always with you!
I wish I could be there with you. This kind of stuff was my dream when I was stationed there.
I could explore that island for days. Thanks for taking us along.
Brilliant video (as ever). I'm a conflict archaeologist and I've been fascinated by these abandoned island batteries for a while, so I was very excited to see the barrack rooms in the thumbnail. I doubt I'll ever be able to make it out to them in person, so exploring them with you was a real treat. Keep up the good work!
'Got to make the boat ooh steps!' Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. (I hope you made the boat.)
I cycled the Shimanami Kaido last year, these islands are so beautiful. I'm going to have to spend more time there in a future visit.
Fun walk, good history, and a plethora of spider webs. Every hike! My best hike is probably the Silver Falls trails in Oregon, USA. Ten waterfalls, and so much green. Just out of the way enough that it's not crowded, too!
this was a great walk, love the end when you were walking by the ocean. looks so peaceful.
Thank you for taking us with you onto this awesome Island!
Wow what an absolutely majestic experience. 8/10 stairs but 10/10 view, which naturally helps the stairs up to 10/10. A true stair-prophet, you are.
All this time I'm thinking, "there's no way he's making that boat!"
Thanks for showing this interisting Island would Love to watch a Video about a longer exploration of the place.
I'm watching this while sat at my desk, looking through excel files, numbers, replying emails.... which I will continue doing all day, everyday. Thank you for allowing an amazing escape for people like me, unable to go out and see the world except for our booked holidays. ( Also, what's the buzzing around the 32:18?)
I love nature and how much you let us see of it on your walk.
You honestly found the most amazing place - but the true hero of this journey was definitely the stick. ;) What a great travel companion for you.
But I also loved seeing the heron, such a wonderful encounter. ♥
Beautiful island and ruins. The whirlpools look kind of dangerous though. Gorgeous nature!
Amazing video. I don’t get to travel much and I should definitely do more trekking. With videos like this, I feel like I can take a moment and refocus from a crazy day. Thank you!
YES! Southern California desert 🏜 is excitedly waiting! 🎉🎉❤❤
Your poking stick is giving main character energy 🙌🏻
It would be so easy to get lost on that island for days. So many trails and paths.
What a truly amazing place. So much to explore and experience. I would love to experience it first hand.
@33:13 my favorite moment when I am in nature is just taking a moment to stop, close my eyes, and take deep breathes while listening to the birds chirp and the leaves rustle around me. Nature is the absolute best medicine!
Thank you for the stream, Norm! What an adventure!
This has such a similar vibe to a place near me called Fort Belle Foutaine, near St. Louis MO. Although it was established as a fort in 1805 (first US military instillation west of the Mississippi River), the fort is long gone, and the ruins date to the 1930's and were mostly depression era Works Progress Administration constructions.
That was a lot of fun. One of your best efforts maybe, though there are so many good ones, maybe finding a "best" is pointless. I was so anxious about your making the boat that I was seriously disappointed not to be able to see you get aboard. Tell us the truth. Did you have to spend the night with the boars? You asked for our explorations. The one that came immediately to mind was tracing the Pony Express route across Utah and Nevada with my young son back in the early 90s. Off-roading in the desert miles from civilization. Beautiful and exciting. Had a flat, but didn't run out of gas. Boy and I both loved it, of course. Thank you for your work.
There was SO much more to this island than I had expected. Loved seeing all the different ruins and listening to you experiencing things for the first time. What a cool spot. I hope you can bring us back again someday!!
Wonderful! I loved the contrast of hiking into the mountains with the spectacular view of the ocean. The buildings were also fascinating. Thanks again.
Nice little island exploration. The killer hornets are a bit concerning, but not a deal breaker in the least. Personally my favorite moments in nature are when I'm in a forest with a particularly chatty stream burbling away beside me. Or winter time when a thaw happens along the mountain sides. Watching impromptu waterfalls spring to life from all the ice melt. Or just about any time in autumn when the leaves go into a full riot of color.
I had no idea Japan and Russia had ever been at war. This definitely was a lovely exploration. ✌️🇺🇲
That overgrown stairway near the end...Indiana Jones vibes. Really cool.
Can't wait loving the streams so far!
Thanks for the video!
This was stunningly beautiful
thank you for sharing this treat with us ☺️
My favorite place that I've explored is Yosemite National Park with my mom and grandmother.
Love the videos! Thank you so much for taking us along
Loved it!
Ohhh this sounds super exciting!
Thanks for the awesome stream!
I am pre 50k gang... still got the sticker you gave me and my broken mug for the next mile stone. Laundry is dun now, but it is wifi and can watch it from my phone. Let explore!
This is going to be awesome!
This was fascinating! Thank you for taking us along😊
I watched every video you posted on both of your channels love your content
thank you so much for this trip and walk-about, Norm. Love your videos.
What a journey! Thank you!
That was a amazing walk! Thank you Norm for sharing it.
Love abandoned location content! This is great
Love your videos!
The way you brandished that stick made me suddenly feel like I was in a first person action adventure rpg haha
Loved the combination of nice views and bits of history during this walk!
Not sure if you changed your camera, but I have been getting motion sickness from your recent videos.. which is really sad for me because I love your creations. You are one of the foreigners who don't clickbait Japan and just report honestly. (It might just be me who changed though.. so please don't worry too much about it) (ETA maybe you changed the fps of your videos?)
Incredible looking island. Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
this is such an adventure video log. i totally enjoyed it dude. thanks for sweating it out for us viewers 🙏🏻
What a find! 😃 It's basically an open air museum, though it seems most visitors don't venture very far from the landing area. The view from the command point and the places where you can see the bridge and the sea through the trees are amazing!
The whole walk, What a treat 😆
Loved it all Norm, thank you
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks for this Norm.... a little remnant of the past with spectacular views...
That scenery next to the water! LOVE IT!
Great video, thank you for doing it .
Inhabited was the word you were looking for. I got curious as well and googled it. 😅
Beautiful! i often have to pause the video to process the beautiful scenery.
So much beauty at every turn. Lovely walk
That was an immensly interesting island.
So much history and stuff to explore.
Safe travels and see you again real soon :)
Some say that he is still trying to catch the boat and roams the island till this day.
Those views are breathtaking man please go back!
This place was cool! I especially liked the eddies at the end!
This was amazing!! Please do more! :D You should totally go back and explore more when not on a time limit, would love to see the abandoned village here too~
Mind blowing. Incredible. Loved this video
Such a great explore Norm. 👍 Hi from Australia.
To answer your question. I didn't explore that much. But one of my favourite places ever, was a marble quarry on the island of Iona in Scotland, it's also been abandoned around a century ago. Iona is about the same size as this place and has a lot to offer too.
Cool island, Thank you.
wow, what a cool place!
Amazing. There were some great sights to see. Thanks for sharing norm!
Loving all the exploring videos! How i wish i could also do that
Subbed last night! You've helped calm my anxiety so much with these videos. So excited im catching a live :>
He has two channels too! Oh ,and he's doing a "1 million seconds" trip to celebrate getting 1M followers, so there'll be a lot more of these videos in the near future :D
Really enjoy your videos showing all of these amazing areas of Japan. I hope to someday get there myself. Have always been fascinated by Japan.
Awesome thanks 👍
Loved the video and all the different old buildings, reminds me a bit of when I used to go camping on Angel Island in the US!
If I’m not mistaken, I think I heard a comment on Japan has started cleaning up the the abandoned or historic areas. The government has been monitoring some VLoggers content and gathering information. This is not malicious in anyway, but seeing what you and others see and take note of abandoned or neglected areas as a side note.
What a lovely hidden gem! Thanks for taking us all on this trip with you, Norm. I'm really enjoying watching, as I know lots of other people are too. 😁👍
Another fun adventure!
So beautiful ❤. Thank you for sharing.
I think that the coolest place that I have explored, was Ireland. There are castles everywhere. It was awesome.
Love this spot! Definitely need to do a camping trip! 😃💝
Great video thank you 👍 very interesting History. I enjoyed it very much 👍❤️❤️
