So true. I usually quit straight to the main menu after I beat a game but I let these end credits roll, contenplating the whole journey of this game. Also got out my phone and went straight to reddit to discuss it
This is the Alien game the fans of the Alien franchise were waiting for. I loved this game. One of the best survival horror games I've played in a while. MAJOR freaking props to the art/visual and special effects department. The graphics and atmosphere was just amazing. All the textures and shadows and graphics. It does it's job right to make you feel like you're on an actual space station. The AI was also well done. Especially when it came to the Alien itself. It actually felt like I was being hunted by an unknown life form. I loved how I can still defend myself but made MY choice to hide instead. Who knows what I was gonna face next?. Only downside of the game is it dragged on for maybe an hour too long. Other than that, great game. They really delivered. 9.5/10 in my opinion.
ryann45 I give it an 8/10 - but then I remember that it scared the living crap out of me on more than one occasion, which no videogame ever does. So I'll upgrade my score slightly to 103843582971947129481724981724 out of 10 (thats rounded down to 1 zillion out of 10)
I like games that never ends, and this is almost like that. So it feels like I can take my time, and so won't finish it in just a day like I normally do with games. So I Give it 10/10 8D
i found a few framerate hiccups in the game. when you are shutting down the security alert, the game freezes for a second (except on hard for some damn reason) and on occasion, the sound for the maintenance jack will cut out (using speaker setting) and some textures will fail to load on occasion (after KG 348). playing on Xbox one S. Love the game, but the extras are bare and i feel that they should've included playable stills of the original idea. lovely game though. damn facehuggers though.
I really don’t understand why people give this game so much shit for its second half and the ending, to me the ending perfectly conveyed what most Alien movies did and that is that the Alien always wins.No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, the Alien will always win!
Joseph Hoffman You still don’t understand what you’re dealing with, do you? It’s structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality. The Perfect Organism-Xenomorphs! Alien Isolation💯🖤💚♥️🔥🔥🔥👽👽👽
I'm just playing it now 6 years after its release, despite being a HUGE Alien fan. The ending left me in awe, just like the ending of the real movie. What an experience. One of the best games I've ever played. The Space Jockey montage was surreal. I had goosebumps several times during this game. Outstanding. 10/10 And I came here for this song. Because damn.
+matthew wallder I would play this non stop till like 3am and beat it on hard settings like 30 times and i would get like no sleep so my mother took it a way and I have not played it sense. : ( By far my favorite game
When you've completed it so many times you basically have photographic memory of the station, my friend was playing it and I knew exactly where he needed to go and what the place he was in looked like lol
I tried so damn hard to play this game on nightmare but it was just so fucking impossible that I had to lower it to hard and even still then it was not an easy game.
Brilliant, brilliant song. I finished the experience yesterday and it was incredible. The ending cutscene could have been longer though. But this song redeems it.
+8Paul7 i agree it did finish rather quickly .... I finished the game around 11pm one evening ... So it was dark outside and a cold .... I just sat back and tripped out while this music was playing though ... I enjoyed the game so much ... And being a fan of electronic and classical music this was a perfect ending to the game ;- )
Yeah, it gives me a vibe of "You survived, so what? You're out here, alone in the middle of nowhere. You got to find the truth about your mother, but at what cost?"
It's ine of my favourite movie quotes. He's an emotionless robot but almost in his dying words feels like he's getting the last laugh? He has no sympathies, it's like he's mocking us with this foresight of the heroes impending doom. He feels no fear of his own death and yet the smirk he gives at the end is horrible like he's prematurely mocking theirs. Fascinating. And he was designed that way, debatably if you consider him not malfunctioning, becausw he was supposed to infiltrate and be human, so how far is he really inhuman the way he's behaving? I mean look at Burke in the second film, Ash isn't that much different from a human psycho
An absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack. Such chills hearing Ellen Ripley voice come through now and then. The creators of this game truest serves the Alien fans.
part of me cries too. BUT ... what could they do in a sequel? Apart from "make the environment more interactive" [the answer from the lead developer] We should just appreciate this game for what it is - a classic that can never be repeated. At least this game set a new bar for horror games - we'll see less scripted enemies in future ... more AI driven enemies, I'm sure.
Mai Nem I came up with a pretty good story for what the second game could do, involving Amanda on the run from Weyland because of her knowledge of the Xenos, and her continuing search for her mother. There’s lots of room for a touching story about family, humanity versus materialism, and of course, good horror. They could make a great sequel if they wanted to.
@@jazzx251 well, for one, a ship found ripley. could be the guy from prometheus, david, androidsending that ship to another LV planet, ripley doesnt want that, ttirs to stop them, gets inprisoned and attacked if she tries to betray weyland on the ship, under constant surveillance, has to get away/break out of the petroled areas dep down in the ship, try to egt up to the control panels/command systems, confront weyland people. Gets forced to go to LV planet anyway as much as she tried not to, since she has nowhere to go. warns the weyland people who refuse her of course cos they want their twisted life form project done. lands on that planet, seeing other alien species, more xeno hives and nests. Ripley trying to find answers. A bit like shaw, but def in depth. maybe she'll find her mother somehow there, or anyone else from the nostromo or who had to go through such survival from aliens, banding together to survive and escape that planet since all ships got destroyed/crashed or filled with alien nests/brooding from being abandoned for so long. A deeper insight on the androids and what they are and do, compared to the aliens.
@@myrkflinn4331 Good story - but Amanda has suffered enough. I want her time on Sevastapol to be a "special" moment in her life (lol). That story would be great for a new character though. When the first "Alien" came out - it was just a bunch of guys trying to survive in space .. they had done this run several times before, but this time something went wrong. And it was documentary-style realistic when they were arguing with each other - it was horrible, like a child listening-in to their parents arguing and discussing a divorce. It was realistic. ALIEN Isolation, and indeed ALIENS doesn't go that far ... but they do try to create a semblance of realism. It is stretching credulity (the suspense of disbelief) far too far - to give Amanda, a brave - mousy - intelligent engineer - a brand new mauling in a brand new environment. It would just be wrong ... I like her as a normal, intelligent, skilled lady - looking for her mother ... then, absolute hell. Which she survives against all odds. To ask her to do it again just turns it into a parody with no impact, and ruins her Sevestapol story, turning her into some sort of superhero ... which she was never supposed to be. There are plenty of other ordinary people that could have met the alien and survived, what about them? I want to see an ALIEN game with a new hero!
Skorqion I know... There won't be a second Alien Isolation but they have Alien Blackout, a mobile game that is a sequel to this game that stars Amanda ripley again and has you guide a crew around you have to protect in seven missions to escape a place called the Mendel Research Facility instead of sevastopol station. You should try it out.

One of THE best horror games I have personally played. Fantastic trip down memory lane. Fantastic story and fantastic gameplay. Took me 8 days to complete it and I will be playing again and again I love it. Fantastic ending leaving the door open. I so hope Creative Assembly do not leave it like that. We need the sequel! :) Well done to SEGA and Creative for such an gripping and gorgeous looking game. (My only gripe and I mean only is that they need to work on the lip sync) Bring on the sequel come on CA don't leave us hanging. Certainly my Game of the Year!
Yes, the best game I've played all year. They deserve a lot of credit for the attention to detail, even the music. Just a great developer. I hope we see a sequel.
I agree with everything except the last line. This game took 4 years to make and release - and it shows. A classic of modern videogames. A full blown sequel of similar quality is never going to be just a year or two in the making - unless they reuse all of the textures and the game engine in a "more of the same" kind of game; which would be more like an expansion pack than a proper sequel. The reason James Cameron didn't go down the Alien horror route was because he knew that Aliens would never match the original for suspense, and would look like a tired "more-of-the-same" horror movie. He knew it wouldn't work as well as a pure horror film. This game is such a classic that it's hard to imagine anything nearly as good being made as a horror sequel. It's not impossible, but extremely hard to do. If they are to do a horror sequel, that does justice to this game, they should take their time developing a good story and new mechanics (maybe even introduce some new surprising alien types, but always with stealth in mind) - and maybe a new hero as well. Amanda has suffered enough! I would love it if they got Sigourney Weaver to be the new hero in a much later story; she's always going on about how "Ripley's story isn't over" (Hollywood seems to have a different opinion) - and given how her trust in this game wasn't misplaced, she would probably jump at the chance to voice act a last Ellen Ripley story made by these developers.
@@skrublawd4879 They could start with a ship coming in to rescue Ripley who's floating in space (as we see ship lights illuminating her face at the very end). They pick her up and it's all about how they should destroy the aliens that are clinging to the debris that are in stasis. Then somehow one gets on board and it's a whole new story. Who knows. I highly doubt there will be a sequel. The team at Creative Assembly that made the first game no longer work there. They've all disbanded. The company felt it didn't do well financially, and that it wasn't well received. A real shame. It's a masterpiece. I loved it.
I love this dark ambient track! This song alone puts an image in your mind on what kind of hell Amanda went though. I can see this song playing at the end of a movie were the main protagonist goes though hell and at the end he/she are in a room with people trying to get main protagonist to tell them what happened and he/she cant cause their broken. All the main protagonist does is stare with a blank face.
Love this end credits music. It's peaceful yet fills you with such dread at the same time. Truly an awesome song and the game is amazing too, the developers got it right.
The best feeling is when you end the game , at hard dificulty, and you relax at your dark room listening this music . This is the best game i've ever played
Me too. I played on Hard on release day in 2014 ... way over 25 hours later, this happened ... I felt so drained, but as I watched Sevastapol break into pieces .. I knew it was all worth it! This IS the best game ever made.

I remember when I bought this game at the end of last summer and I was totally amazed by pretty much everything in this gem! The atmosphere, story and the "'79 Alien retro" style made this game one of my favorites! This is one of those games you actually love without a doubt! So, I give my thanks to the developers for giving me this fantastic experience! "I admire its purity..."
Loved loved loved this game .... So many special moments when your walking around the Sevastopol .... And you get the little original sounds from Alien/Aliens ... To fully appreciate this no doubt, you have to be into the movies .... A young gamer will probably cruise through this without a second thought ... But throughout my time playing it ... I was constantly admiring the ship, the story, the backdrops of the planets and more than anything the music ... The tension and lighting was fantastic, created a superbly dark atmosphere .... And with all lights out during me playing the game, on a big screen, you were totally immersed in the whole environment ... Especially enjoyed the drawn out prolonged sections, which some people disliked ... It adds to the building atmosphere ..... Really warped, cramped edginess all the way through ..... And ended in a great way, with the story and then with this great track to close the game out .... Suited so well .... Fantastic work guys ... Shit my undergarments many times, but thats why i play this style ... Total total gaming .... Will be absolutely overjoyed, yet mentally traumatized if i hear a 2nd game is being developed ;- )))))))) x
+Jamie Vorne I know how you feel. Admittedly, it's been years since I saw Alien and Aliens, but I still remembered enough from those movies to admire everything, the attention to detail, in Isolation. Plus it helps that I absolutely adore everything about the Xenomorphs :D
Never watched the Alien movies before, ended up absolutely loving this game, taking in all the visuals. It's an absolute marvel. I should probably watch the movies.
@@Sea_Star ... this game is so beautiful that I tried to watch the original Alien movie, and found myself reaching for the mouse during the final scenes! They nailed it. But Alien is a must-watch - so many iconic scenes, astonishing acting, amazing set-design that would define science fiction for the next 40 years. A terrific game - but its source material is a terrific movie, I hope you get to see it. The sequel, James Cameron's "Aliens", made 7 years later, is rightly regarded as one of the greatest action movies of all time. (it is) This game is set 15 years after Alien, and 42 years before Aliens - with her mother still missing, 27-year-old Amanda Ripley can't refuse a kind Weyland-Yutani android (Samuels) whose programming has made him seek her out so that he can do some good. [unfortunately forcing her into a TERRIFYING situation!] In terms of the canon - I think this game is even better than Aliens. My ranking is Alien> Alien Isolation > Aliens > the rest.
I def felt tension building up towards the end of the game, was great. had to face enemies all at once and act fast. actually panicking like i would have irl standing there sometimes. great immersion.
Jordan Martin Ah, that's what I thought the ending was about. "She got picked up by a passing ship, lived until she was 66" kinda explanation. But... what if that was a lie? If Amanda Ripley was killed by a xenomorph because of Weyland-Yutani's attempt to get one, only the top of the top would know what really happened. So when they heard that Ellen Ripley was still alive, and asking for her daughter, they would have given the false backstory/file to Burke, telling him that THAT was what happened. Just a guess though. If they do do a sequel, and it again starts Amanda Ripley, I don't think we should assume she'll be fine just because of what Burke said in Aliens. Besides, it's not like Fox cares about continuity that much. They brought Hicks back in Colonial Marines, remember?
thing is though, they really don't want to piss everyone off AGAIN. so i'm certain they'll have a 2nd game but she'll survive throughout it and then continue onwards to let the storyline in Aliens continue and not get interrupted.
***** As cool as all fan theories can be, I imagine even Sega and CA are not inclined to start hitting into existing storyline for their content. I'm satisfied with the idea that she is picked up and continues searching for her mother, only to be too late (or died too early, if you think about it)
***** "...this game has nothing to do with Weyland..." Have you even played the game? 'Cause if you have, then you'd know that Weyland-Yutani ARE involved in this game.

Every time I listen to this song it takes me back to Sevastopol and all the struggle Amanda had to endure, and the moment of peace after surviving. Alien: isolation is one of the best games I have ever played.
Creative Assembly and SEGA have been my favourite developers since Medieval II Total War, and it's been so just because I dig their RTS games over anything, but this... Alien Isolation just kicks so much ass :D Very impressed by how they pulled this one off. Quite honestly I'm hoping to one day work in one of those companies that produce quality games like this.
+Goby With that enthusiasm, I hope you get to work in those companies too. We need more risk taking games like Alien, and less generic FPS crap in the AAA market. (2 million sales wasn't enough for Sega to continue the series apparently)

My God! This song got me. Seen all the movies, read MOST of the comics, have busts, played the old games (talking 16-bit quality, here)... Love, love, love Sigourney Weaver! This song was the perfect end to the game. Hands down!
Well we know she didn't die at least, because in Aliens after her mom is found 57 years after alien, they told her Amanda died two years ago at the age of 66.
*FYI minor spoilers* I really don't understand why people gave this game so much shit for it's second half and ending, to me the ending perfectly conveyed what most Alien movies did and that is that the alien always wins no matter what you do no matter how hard you try the alien will always win.
I agree 💯! Just because it ends differently than the movie/s that probably why people didn’t like the ending. I think that Creative Assembly ended the game thinking they were going to make a second one with closure but I love the game from beginning to end regardless of what others thought. This game is a Masterpiece! 10/10🖤👽
Finally did. Stopped playing at Apollo core because I wasn't having fun with the industrial Joes. Finally started again a year later, beat it the same night. Glad I did.
All-time favorite horror game. I could play this over and over again nonstop. I actually wish there was a survival mode where there's no story, no ending, just a constant battle between you and everything on the station.
there is that, it's just in a form of a DLC. Tho, there is a free-to-play map in the Survivor mode, called The Basement, that allows you to get a taste of the mode.
Best game ever 10/10 Still re-playing it a dozend of times 😍 I got goosebumps as the end credits rolled the first time with this being the track. Just amazing.
I've played through 4 times. I thought maybe I was a bit to into this game. But I see that I'm not alone in playing through multiple times. It really is an amazing game. By far my favorite of the past several years.
And that was it... There was nothing left for Amanda... Axel, Hughes, Lingard, Ransome, Waits, Samuels, Taylor, Marlow, Ricardo, Verlaine, Connor. They were all gone or missing. Sevastopol was destroyed, The Anesidora as well, and then the Torrens was lost. There is nothing left for Amanda apart from the empty vacuum of space. By this point she also had no other option but to accept her fate and drift in space. Everything looked so bleak for Ripley. No one and Nothing to hope for. Just Isolation.
I just finished this game today (late I know) but I was attached to Ripleys character that I’m with mixed emotions after this ending! The credits definitely sealed that ending and you feel everything with this song. I’m hooked! One of the best games I’ve played in a long time. I was hoping there would be a second one by now though. This is Ripley, signing off...
CrownRoyal Boi because her helmet has a light on it, but if you look closely you can see an external light passing her face, and her peaceful face squints.
I just finished this game yesterday the song is exactly what I hoped for at the end of the game I have played a number of really good games a lot of them a lot longer than alien isolation when I played Hollow Knight I thought it was the best game that ever existed now that I've played alien isolation I think Hollow Knight is now the second best game to ever exist and when I got to the xenomorph hive and I blew up the alpha core when I saw my motion tracker light up I was so surprised yet expecting it every single cutscene is crafted with so much care it blows me away on how good the graphics are in the game I hope aliens Dark Descent is like alien isolations with it being in first person and it looking like alien isolation with the graphics
I bought this game christmas day back then. Still one of my favorites to this day, but something about this soundtrack had me coming back for years. Always hoped for a sequel, but I know we’re not getting it…would’ve been nice tho
Because of this game I was inspired and cosplayed as Ellen Ripley, at Comic Con a guy approached me saying he'd promised his friend that he'd send her a picture if he found an Ellen Ripley, his friend was the actress who played Amanda in the game! He showed me her response- "Mum!" It's one of my favourite memories
I finished this game yesterday evening. The A.I. was great, gameplay was fun and nicely challenging, graphics were so beautiful! I was amazed by this great soundtrack! Overall I would give this game a rate of 10/10! I would highly recommend Alien: Isolation for all Alien fans! "Ripley, Signing off."
Mission 6 of "Lost Contact" salvage mode is the toughest in the entire game ... you have to activate four computer terminals, all in dead-end rooms, while dodging the alien and hostile humans. If you're not playing as Amanda (you get a choice of 5 characters, with different loadouts), you won't have a flamethrower from the outset [the flamethrower is the reward for winning the level! .. a cruel twist!]. And if you die, you must do it all again. Worse still, if you couldn't save after the previous level because you didn't have the necessary 2500 points, you'll have to redo the previous level too.
I can't totally agree. I believe these are two different types of horror. Alien - Sci-Fi, relying on atmosphere FNaF - ghost/curse-type horror, relying on jumpscares, but containing a very decent story, that is not obvious. Player has to be quite "digging" to learn more about it. In my opinion, both are good. Just in two different ways.
Loved playing this game, so many close calls with getting caught by the Xenomorph had me sweating in fear, that plus the Crawl Space mission, the Face Huggers always scared the fuck out of me
@@Jose10614 The Survivor mode mission where you’re crawling through vent for half of it and at the same time your anxiously trying to keep your guard up for face huggers

Great, great track. This game was spectacular, not only as an Alien game, but as a AAA horror. Alien: Isolation and Wolfenstein: The New Order are my GOTY runner ups.

+junglisticluxx I have them on VCR and DVD and laser disc and blue ray. I own the makings and the special additions. I LOVE ALIEN SO MUCH. Such a great legacy. Cant wait or alien covenant but to be honest i would rather see a new game Alien Isolation 2 rather than a movie sequel this game was so incredible .

I don't believe they will. It's not a traditional soundtrack and I don't imagine they ever planned for an album release. It's possible, given enough community backing and funding... although don't get your hopes up. =/
+moonasha hehe - can you imagine the tracklist? "1. Awakening 2. Accident 3. Terrified 4. Scared to Death 5. Locker of Death 6. Petrified 7. Shitting Oneself 8. The Nightmare 9. Brown Panties 10. No Escape 11. Doom Impending 12. The Xenomorph Appears 13. Mortified 14. Terror Multiplied 15. Desperation 16. Countdown to Oblivion 17. Blessed Relief 18. God No! 19. Alone in Space?" None of those would make the top 20, to be honest. I can see why they didn't release them as hit singles.
Just played this. Nice open ended ending, anything can happen from Ripley junior floating in space. I kinda wish marines showing up and perhaps predators. And i kinda wish for a metroidvania style enviroment for survival adventuring. Metroids are an homage to alien movies so next isolation having some metroid things in it would be so cool.
Just finished this in 2021 on my iMac. What a great game! My only minor complaint was that the game was quite short compared to others I've played like Dying Light and Borderlands 2.
Been waiting on Alien isolation since October 2014. two things I waited on in gaming... Dragon ball origins 3 and Alien Isolation 2. sadge they have not came

This song captures the mood perfectly after you finish this game. Especially on hard and nightmare.
Yeah, it gives me a vibe of "You survived, so what? You're out here, alone in the middle of nowhere. You got to find the truth about your mother, but at what cost?"
@@lukethomas.125Cos now she’s a survivor. Who will live to tell the tale of what the company is really doing.

I cant lie to you about your chances, but you have my sympathies...
*smirks creepily*
An absolute masterpiece of a soundtrack. Such chills hearing Ellen Ripley voice come through now and then. The creators of this game truest serves the Alien fans.
I actually just cried a bit because there probably isn´t going to be a second AI game
part of me cries too.
BUT ... what could they do in a sequel?
Apart from "make the environment more interactive" [the answer from the lead developer]
We should just appreciate this game for what it is - a classic that can never be repeated.

Good story - but Amanda has suffered enough.
I feel like the ambience playing during the credits is INTENTIONALLY made in such way to evoke nostalgia in the hearts of Alien fans.

(My only gripe and I mean only is that they need to work on the lip sync)
Bring on the sequel come on CA don't leave us hanging. Certainly my Game of the Year!
I pretty much agree with all of this.
***** we will all have to play it again or watch a lets play of it in 5 years time. but how will they continue it?
This game is golden. Absolutely amazing. Such a cliff hanger for an ending I hope we get a 2
Love this end credits music. It's peaceful yet fills you with such dread at the same time. Truly an awesome song and the game is amazing too, the developers got it right.
Around 4 minutes into this track it gets AMAZINGLY haunting. It so reminds me of the mystery the original film holds. FFFF....

You really love this game. It's great right?.
(it is)
This game is set 15 years after Alien, and 42 years before Aliens - with her mother still missing, 27-year-old Amanda Ripley can't refuse a kind Weyland-Yutani android (Samuels) whose programming has made him seek her out so that he can do some good. [unfortunately forcing her into a TERRIFYING situation!]
In terms of the canon - I think this game is even better than Aliens.
My ranking is Alien> Alien Isolation > Aliens > the rest.
I def felt tension building up towards the end of the game, was great. had to face enemies all at once and act fast. actually panicking like i would have irl standing there sometimes. great immersion.
Absolutely loved the game. They did the Alien fra chose good with this one. Left it open for another game (I'm guessing, it was a decent cliff hanger)
It was left open for the fact that **spoilers** the film Aliens confirms she dies aged 66, 2 years before Ellen is found.
I'm satisfied with the idea that she is picked up and continues searching for her mother, only to be too late (or died too early, if you think about it)
***** "...this game has nothing to do with Weyland..."
Have you even played the game? 'Cause if you have, then you'd know that Weyland-Yutani ARE involved in this game.
This is Ripley.

Poor Amanda, she ended just like her mother...
Well we know she didn't die at least, because in Aliens after her mom is found 57 years after alien, they told her Amanda died two years ago at the age of 66.
Amanda was recovered after this, and went on to live until 66, you can tell when watching Aliens
Amanda Ripley never found her mother :'(
Many stories don't have a happy ending and this game demonstrates that for us.

Mai Nem 😅😅😅Okay! Let's say a goddamn 10000/0.1!
hmmm .. ok.
My rating was 138348753872319 out of 10 ... but you'll come around to my way of thinking after doing the "Salvage Mode" DLCs
Mai Nem I'll take a look at those ASAFP!
Worse still, if you couldn't save after the previous level because you didn't have the necessary 2500 points, you'll have to redo the previous level too.
i will forever love this ❤
Whenever I Hear this music I fell Proud ❤️

No shit this game is a masterpiece of the Alien franchise.
The Alien series rapes the FNAF series.
I can't totally agree. I believe these are two different types of horror.
Alien - Sci-Fi, relying on atmosphere
FNaF - ghost/curse-type horror, relying on jumpscares, but containing a very decent story, that is not obvious. Player has to be quite "digging" to learn more about it. In my opinion, both are good.
Just in two different ways.

And i kinda wish for a metroidvania style enviroment for survival adventuring. Metroids are an homage to alien movies so next isolation having some metroid things in it would be so cool.
This is the "I survived hell" music.
Very good song to an excellent game!
Just finished this in 2021 on my iMac. What a great game! My only minor complaint was that the game was quite short compared to others I've played like Dying Light and Borderlands 2.
Essa foi uma das maiores obras primas da indústria dos vídeo games !!! Um jogo que causa uma imersão como eu pouco antes vi.
Been waiting on Alien isolation since October 2014. two things I waited on in gaming... Dragon ball origins 3 and Alien Isolation 2. sadge they have not came
