Hey there Robert, nice catch. This video inspired me to buy two of them yesterday (The recent version, Patriot Plus). I well know the MI mosquitos but live in CT, right on a salt marsh that has freshwater ponds where they breed. I'll keep two of them on both sides of the house at the shady ends of the lawn in-between the house and the woods/marsh & that'll attract them before they work their way up to the house. Now I can start gardening again, had to stop because they were so thick I had to cover myself with Deep Woods Off just to pick tomatoes.

Your the first one that had success with your mosquito magnet. Good for you! I bought their top of the line model which was good for up to one acre? I paid a huge sum of money for mine 17 years ago. I think I paid $900 for the machine & 2-20 pound tanks of gas as well as several boxes attractant. I had mine set up in my backyard away from my house. It burned through the first tank in ten days. An alarm started chirping at 2 a.m. loudly. My wife woke me up out of a dead sleep on a work day night to change out the bottle 🤬. After two bottles of gas I opened the trap & I could have killed more mosquitos with the palm of my hand in one evening than were inside the machine. I returned it.

so, what would happen if you killed all the mosquitoes? consensus is, almost nothing. they are not like bees. "Eradicating any organism would have serious consequences for ecosystems - wouldn't it? Not when it comes to mosquitoes, finds Janet Fang. www.nature.com/news/2010/100721/full/466432a.html Ecology: A world without mosquitoes .. Yet in many cases, scientists acknowledge that the ecological scar left by a missing mosquito would heal quickly as the niche was filled by other organisms. Life would continue as before - or even better. "

I need one of these ASAP. Pouring out that many dead mosquitoes must be quite satisfying. I'm going to get one ASAP.

After it warms up with a slow blinking light, the light on mine has started to blink at twice the speed. Does that mean the propane is finished or it is not getting any? I bought mine on CL and don't have the manual.

In Orange COunty , CA the mosquito numbers have increase by 5 times. I cant even go in my backyard any more. My wife gets really bad reactions to them. This looks ideal.

If a community would place 5 of these in and around their town (more if a large town of course) mosquitoes would be greatly reduced and so would the disease associated with them. Also the chemicla spraying which they adapt to would be unnecessary. Think of the fish food they could also be used for!
