I'm looking for a set of wheels for the winter to replace my rapid clx2, just one question, what should Magene do to make these wheels perfect, what improvement would you make personally?
I think as a "newer" company on the scene, they need to offer some discounts on the price in order to pull people away from brands like Lun and Elitewheels since they appear on par with those offerings yet don't have any breakout features that make it obviously better quality or something.
@@LouieBaLLz Discount Code: Patrick10 - As long as the amount of purchase by the user reaches $199, a $10 discount can be applied, regardless of whether they buy PES or other products. For 60-65mm I pick the Hypers. For 50-60mm depth I choose Magene.
Pretty Dope wheels for sure... I totally agree with the magene heart rate monitor being much better than Wahoo's, the water resistant seal is excellent, no rusty battery here. 😁
I have the same bike. I regard mine as being sterile, despite the upgrades. It's comfortable and keeping me aluminium-frame-bound. I agree that the Allez handles rough pavement very well
I had the Elite Drive wheels with the carbon spokes and they rode super harsh. Went super fancy and got some Enve SES 4.5's and wow! So much better. However, the Enve wheels are hookless and the internet suggests I am playing with fire with hookless. Guess its time to up that life insurance.
I suppose the idea of harshness is subjective. I don't find any of my carbon spoked wheels to be harsh. In fact I actually find steel spokes to be not stiff enough LoL
Can't say I agree with the drive wheels being super harsh either. I started out with 25mm tires on the 65Ds, and they felt super solid and lively but never harsh. I recently tried 28mm tires with them and they make my "race" bike feel more comfortable than my endurance frame bike.
@@jacklalalaful I ride on a variety of surfaces including cobblestones and carbon spokes are fine. If we were still running 23mm tires at 140psi maybe there would be something to it, but we are pampered today with wider rims and larger tires at lower pressures.
Awaiting your video on the yishun bike. I note you pointed out it has a few shortcomings (eg not as good as the specialized bike on harsh roads). Have ridden mine a few times (still tweaking it) and will state I find it deals with road vibrations better than the VBR168. Experienced some headset movement when I installed their supplied compression plug, however when I switched to my Cane Creek compression plug (did not want to use it during the initial testing since its not as easy to get out as standard plugs), no play
I want to like Magene, I really do. L508 radar light worked flawless until firmware upgrade. Now it's almost useless with false alerts and quick battery drain...even on most battery-saving settings. Warranty support has been non-existent. Starting to be just a bit wary of the brand.
For an all-around wheelset they are difficult to beat. I would like to see an option for non-gold wheel decals. Maybe matte black and of course white/silver.
Hmmm. These are the fashionable super wide rims. Wider than the Elite Drive and almost as light. The roads I ride on are terrible in places. This might be good. Not sure where you can buy them.
I’ve had a good experience with the Magene lights and cyclocomputer. I wonder if the base version of these carbon wheels would be good value as well. I’m considering the Elitewheels Marvel (at 599 USD) or the Magene Exar Standard wheels.
@@PatrickLinogreat review, I’m really thinking of getting these wheels to replace my zipp 404 firecrest, how do u find the d508 in crosswinds? And how are the wheels after 8-10 months, have you had any issues?
