If you expect everything to be like it was 20 or 25 years ago, you're going to have a bad time. If you expect companies to put out AAA content every year or every 2 years, you're going to have a bad time. Part of the reason that people piss and moan about games now is because your generation is inundated with new games from dozens (hundreds?) of companies is because your generation is used to "flavor of the week" games. Look at what is out there. PS5 has 700+ games. Xbox has about 1000 games. Nintendo Switch has 4500-5000 games. This doesn't even take into account all of the games on Steam (obviously various platform). The younger generation plays games for 15-30 hours and moves on to the next thing. Diablo and other proper RPGs are time sinks, if you want them to be. Just like MMOs. If you actually played it, you would know that.
The amount of hate diablo 4 gets is so annoying, it usually comes from annoying PoE fans that hate that diablo is more popular or from people nostalgic about diablo 2, like diablo 2 was great but Id way rather play diablo 4 due to all the content it has now plus it just feels way better to play in terms of moment to moment gameplay, also playing on a controller is the best. But the narrative is that diablo bad so everyone goes with it even if everything people have complained about has been changed or improved dramatically. The only real criticisms at this point is that yes blizzard is a very sketchy company with bad people there but there are also a ton of normal developers trying to just make a good game and keep their job, also the skins are waaaay too expensive but those to me are the legit criticisms. Most of the diablo haters I have encountered have +150 hours put into the game and just love complaining about super niche details, alot of closeted diablo fans out there

I was right, playing D3 5 years later for the first time. I will be right, playing D4 never. ..but: MTX are not the problem per se. Look at PoE. It's the effort behind it, making and keeping the game good, even to make it better after years and years. I gladly give GGG hundreds of dollars, I refuse to give Blizzard 1 dollar. An overabundance of MTX is not the problem....at all. Just like GGG, Blizzard is smart: They just know far enough NPC's buy this shit, while improving nothing significant. The guy that is sick of it is Dark LORE Dash, long time Diablo lore guy, did great coverage of 1 and 2, and 3 a fair bit, but just couldn't do D4. Hopefully he switches to Path of Exile lore. That's the game that the Blizzard North guys left to make, lot of them went to Path of Exile, and part 2 is looking amazing! It's not even suits that are the problem now though, large part is the ideology activists that are in the company now, that's why the characters are ugly, why they have a Mary Sue character that your character follows around now, why they're trying to create their own lore which ends up being garbage. The only way to sent a message is to let Blizzard just fail, they had their time, other companies are ready to take their hill over at this point. Path of Exile 2 (free to play), only about a month away from early access, it's going to be epic. D4 is probably going to be at least 2 expansions, maybe more being a MMO hybrid. And, for fixing your shower head, need some plumbers tape, and to replace the head, not just a band-aid fix with glue. Definitely a better video this time, more on point, (little ramble-y at the end) keep it up.
They should just release a game every year over these small expansions. Some games like d4 or destiny should not try to sit on the same foundation for years
Personally, Diablo 4 is a fun game with an interesting campaign. However, I leveled my 1st class, a Rogue to 53 without dying once. The game is too damn easy. I hold down one button to do my continuous insta spin, pop a heal once in a while, and it's ez mode. When fighting bosses, I literally do nothing for 5-10 seconds just to see what kinf of abilities they have and how hard they hit. Then I kill them in 2-4 seconds.. How is that challenging? One of the reasons ppl hate on D4 and love POE 2 so much is the fact that POE2 is more challenging with boss fights, and it's got more ways to fully customize your class. In D4, if you possess a shred of intelligence, you'll study the skill tree for maybe 15 minutes max, and be able to figure out an OP build. Now, If you go in there blind, and pick a bunch of main abilities with few passives, you're likely gonna struggle, especially on the highest difficulty.. But even those ppl will eventually respec and actually focus on creating a more op build. When I play D4, I enjoy going through the different dungeons and seeing/fighting bosses tgat look interesting, bad ass, and fun to engage. I actually don't enjoy mowing them down in 3 seconds without a shred of sweat from the challenge. Hope Blizzard understands this and can make D4 more challenging and fun.

, people played diablo because it was a fresh experience compared to anything else, lore and story are the least important parts of a game, could be a story of a carrot who has to escape armies of rabbits but you had rng drops of different variations of grass to craft armor to defend against the rabbit armies and if the gameplay loop was fun and engaging with progression, where any item could be an upgrade, and where it took time to progress instead of sit down at level 1 and 3 hours later be level 100 with all you're legendary powers, another 6 hours and you are done with everything, gearing, leveling, story difficulty everything has been nerfed for casual players, this is where old school games and todays games differ, game developers back in the day were gamers and put focus on making a challenging game that as a gamer themselves would want to play now game devs focus on the casual player base so much now that things that make games retention high get cut from the game in order to please an audience to boost sales, but then retention falls, the loop is no longer a time investment nor fun for long because its designed for only a few hours of gameplay, how and what do you make content around when everything is at anyone and everyone's finger tips, its not hard, its not challenging and it takes no time or thought at all.

I haven't paid for a single addon for D4, fuck that idea, if the devs don't know that running back through instances over pathing you have already cleared, repeatedly, isn't any fun there is no hope for the game or company. Even the shittiest ARPG's do things like open a portal when you reach a dead end so you can quickly get back into the good stuff, yet Blizzard makers of the biggest franchise in ARPG gaming Diablo, think gamers want to clear an area then run back through it again and again to click a fucking lamp or some shit. I've been playing since day 1, I've played every diablo game since day 1. diablo 4 had the worst start by far, but its also had the most improvement. If you're mad at blizzard tor not consistently meeting your w your expections, that's one thing, but to say the game isnt worth owning or playing or claiming its complete shit because the lore isnt presented as you see fit, thats going a bit far. The game is NOW awesome. Its got 10 end game activities, the story still kinda sucks but lets be honest, everyone skips all the dialogue to get to the cutscene anyways so it doesnt matter. The gameplay is what matters and its good now.
I play Diablo since the first Game. The vessel of hatred campaign was horrible super-aids, i hated all these stupid click-quests and the uninteresting npc's. But now i am grinding in adventure mode and i have fun. Gonna play for 2-3 months and than i will probably go back to D2R playing my level 90 Hammerdin some more.
Expansion should have been free. They definitely need to make a new diablo game at this point. The skill tree in d4 is horrible they should honestly go back to diablo 2 style game. The generator spender skills are lame.

Not quite 10 hours a day, but yeah the game is now in a really good state. All the "POE2 über alles!" people make me laugh, As a POE player from day one, I remember how it was on release. We can only hope that Grinding Gears have gotten it together for the release of POE2. As far as the NO DIABLO or any other prime evil in D4 Blah Blah Blah. At the end of D3 all prime evils were dead and reforming in Hell. 90% of humanity was dead and that's where D4 started. The Story is as the Story should be, and I'm looking forward to how it progresses.

@@McBillyBoy I respect your opinion about the game, but it's definitely not 50/50 - more like 99/1. The overwhelming majority of players are enjoying D4, especially this season. While I agree that the story has been pretty disappointing (I actually enjoyed the base campaign, but VoH was pretty bad with an incomplete ending), D4 has more endgame content than every other Diablo game combined. The bugs are definitely annoying, but none of them are game breaking and they get fixed within a week. Maybe the game just isn't for you, and that's ok. Most old school D2 players enjoy PoE because it has a similar feel, but those players are clearly in the minority. PoE has generated HALF the revenue in it's 11 years that D4 did in preorders alone. Like it or not, but the money shows that millions of more players enjoy the new Diablo compared to old school Diablo. I enjoy both for different reasons, and I'll continue playing every league of PoE and every season of D4.

I haven't paid for a single addon for D4, fuck that idea, if the devs don't know that running back through instances over pathing you have already cleared, repeatedly, isn't any fun there is no hope for the game or company. Even the shittiest ARPG's do things like open a portal when you reach a dead end so you can quickly get back into the good stuff, yet Blizzard makers of the biggest franchise in ARPG gaming Diablo, think gamers want to clear an area then run back through it again and again to click a fucking lamp or some shit. Yeah. No. I was a POE player since 2013 though so I already knew how bad the game was compared to the literally free game POE seems the masses have converted now and POE2 will take the reigns for the ARPG genre which it will because GGG have a brain and want to make their game better because their franchise depends on keeping the playerbase happy and engaged.
Bro its all good you have the right to your opinion and feelings. I dont agree with everything you're saying. I've been playing since day 1, I've played every diablo game since day 1. diablo 4 had the worst start by far, but its also had the most improvement. If you're mad at blizzard tor not consistently meeting your w your expections, that's one thing, but to say the game isnt worth owning or playing or claiming its complete shit because the lore isnt presented as you see fit, thats going a bit far. The game is NOW awesome. Its got 10 end game activities, the story still kinda sucks but lets be honest, everyone skips all the dialogue to get to the cutscene anyways so it doesnt matter. The gameplay is what matters and its good now.
I play Diablo since the first Game. The vessel of hatred campaign was horrible super-aids, i hated all these stupid click-quests and the uninteresting npc's. But now i am grinding in adventure mode and i have fun. Gonna play for 2-3 months and than i will probably go back to D2R playing my level 90 Hammerdin some more.
D4 is significantly better than D3 but nothing will ever compare to D2.

Expansion should have been free. They definitely need to make a new diablo game at this point. The skill tree in d4 is horrible they should honestly go back to diablo 2 style game. The generator spender skills are lame.

tbh I think what d4 lacks is it just feels really bland. The combat to me just feels unimaginative. Path of exile 2 coming out looks really good and I personally thats what im looking forward too.

Btw bro Activision Blizzard merged in 2008. D3 came out in 2012, 4 yrs later! Sooo Blizzard making shitty games has nothing to do with Activision now lol. Just starting rotting long time ago. I think it started happening after WoW 2003 4 somewhere there. All Blizz games before WoW were top. Wow somehow acted like a cancer to that company. I think they saw alot of money to be made from it being so big and having a huge player base that it shifted in an entirely different direction and mindset.
The D1/D2 creator David Brevik crated a cool game “it lurks below”. Its like a mix of terraria and D2 :)

Discovered and enjoyed D1 when nobody knew what it is, Loved D2 for years, felt strange about D3, totally avoided D4. Playing PoE for several years, loving it, can't wait for PoE2.
They're dropping a massive amount of the new gems coming now, and PoE2 looks like what Diablo could only wish to be now.
Mobile phones killed everything too, they invented micro transactions then this shitty concept got transferred to PC games too. It's just corporate greed. There's no passion in these games anymore, this isn't the 90s/00s when this was all starting out and was real cool. Now it's too easy to make this shit it's like copy pasta and they make it all shit. Not quite 10 hours a day, but yeah the game is now in a really good state. All the "POE2 über alles!" people make me laugh, As a POE player from day one, I remember how it was on release. We can only hope that Grinding Gears have gotten it together for the release of POE2. As far as the NO DIABLO or any other prime evil in D4 Blah Blah Blah. At the end of D3 all prime evils were dead and reforming in Hell. 90% of humanity was dead and that's where D4 started. The Story is as the Story should be, and I'm looking forward to how it progresses.

For me diablo iv is about the grind and community, lore is not important when it comes to RNG lol , VOH isn’t perfect but it’s a great change with a lot of content I hope u can look past the lack of lore and see the game for what it is .

IT IS BECAUSE IT INVOLVES AN STORY THAT THEY WANT TO TELL AND PEOPLE WANNA KNOW ABOUT, since a large portion of the playerbase is obviously gonna come from previous diablo games.
If story is not relevant, then the lore is not relevant, then there is no reason to call this game DIABLO, hence they should release these trash games with a new title, so people who buy it don't get any expectation relating it to DIABLO. So... a proper name for blizzard's new arpg would be "click and loot".

@@McBillyBoy I respect your opinion about the game, but it's definitely not 50/50 - more like 99/1. The overwhelming majority of players are enjoying D4, especially this season. While I agree that the story has been pretty disappointing (I actually enjoyed the base campaign, but VoH was pretty bad with an incomplete ending), D4 has more endgame content than every other Diablo game combined. The bugs are definitely annoying, but none of them are game breaking and they get fixed within a week. Maybe the game just isn't for you, and that's ok.
Most old school D2 players enjoy PoE because it has a similar feel, but those players are clearly in the minority. PoE has generated HALF the revenue in it's 11 years that D4 did in preorders alone. Like it or not, but the money shows that millions of more players enjoy the new Diablo compared to old school Diablo. I enjoy both for different reasons, and I'll continue playing every league of PoE and every season of D4.

1 minuet in and your claim the game is bad because there is no Mephisto, Diablo, or ba'al? Are you that dense to where you cant think oh they are saving the FINAL BOSSES for the FINAL EXPANSION. How the hell are we going to fight mephisto while he was weak and in his wolf state? Diablo is the same way stuck as a wolf right now. Ba'al is dead for all we know at the moment.
They really should have just skipped more time in the universe to when diablo and mephisto were ready to fight. It feels soooo bad not having prime evils

How many "games" are there going to be before you get to the final boss? Seems like they're less games, and more just 1/2 done seasons that you're advocating for, which would be fine if it were free, but people PAID for that. Half done games don't fly with paying customers.
