D4 has so many issues, but I think what d4 needs is a major overhaul when it comes to itemization. D2r does not have side quests, altars, or renowns, but I am not bored to play the game because the items there, when found, can have visual and statistical improvements to your character. Unlike in d4, that when you found something and read the stats, at first you cannot understand what those affixes mean, or if you do, you cannot appreciate that there was a stat improvement in your char. Also, the gameplay. Although combat feels fluid, fighting the same bosses over and over again is boring. Even doing NM repetitively is boring as well. Even when I go to wt4, the enemies feel the same. I just have to rush untill 100 and will uninstall afterwards. This game is not the game that we used to play during the early 00's. Blizzard is a massive disappointment.
100%. I've been saying this all along. I quit D4 after just 2-3 weeks because at lvl 75 I had 0 drops to be excited about. The itemization is boring AF. I've been grinding D2R since that while waiting for POE2. I have 0 trust in A/B fixing anything because all their tactics are scummy and aim to waste our time and money. If they just added some stash space in D2R, I would be happy, but they won't because they want me to waste my time managing my stash/inventory.
Blizzard listened to the wrong ppl who likely complained the loudest. D4 is simply too easy. There's no challenge. Once you figure out an op build, it's hold down dance of knives and spin to win. 😂 I literally choose to let bosses hit ne for a cpl seconds just to experience their abilities and how hard they hit. Then I heal and mow them down in 2 seconds. How is that challenging and fun? This is my biggest issue with D4
"Ruining their reputation" Yeah, I'm pretty sure they already accomplished that a long time ago. They've had plenty of time with WoW, HS, OW, HotS, and DI. D4 was kind of the last bastion of hope a lot of us had for Blizzard. Now that they've spectacularly managed to lose the majority of the Diablo fanbase, their mission is complete. That guy that said something like "Blizzard doesn't exist anymore. It is a corpse being puppeteered by Activision for nostalgia cash grabs." is basically spot on.
At that point if you're still falling for Blizzard's bait the joke is on you. It was impossible that D4 could be remotely good, and it's by design. Long gone the times where passionate devs ran that company. Just let it go guys. Poe and PD2 and too far ahead, Sure, it's a Diablo franchise, but it's just to farm nostalgia out of die hard fans.
You are spot on but I'm afraid I can't share in your hopefulness about the game. I quit a few weeks ago when I could no longer ignore how a lot of game mechanics are designed specifically to waste your time. The lack of a loot filter, small inventory, bloated affix list, and randomized affix placement, for example, are meant to keep you constantly scanning for marginal upgrades. Toss in the obnoxious town layouts, teleport times, egregious reroll costs, and dungeon designs and the game milks immense amounts of your time. Even if they add in the fixes they promised in Season 2 all of these are still in place. Even if you get past all of that you then have to contend with the itemization, build variety, and abundant QoL issues.
Yeah, for sure! A lot of people are saying the game will be good by season 2, but I think we have quite a ways to go beyond that lol. Maybe even until an expansion, but at that point I'm sure we'll be facing 100 new problems. Thanks for watching and listening to my rant lol.
Go play Path of Exile and it becomes glaringly obvious. Loot filters, stash tabs, common sense mechanics, game mechanics designed to create fun and not waste your time. Yes it’s ten years old, no it’s not perfect (don’t let the skill tree freak you out; follow a guide and take it one step at a time and it’s fine), but I’ll be damned if it hasn’t created a sense of enjoyment that I completely lost with D4. I wanted D4 to be amazing, but it’s just…not. I put a lot of hours in and hit 100 right before season one because it was a personal push at that point but it sucked as a grind. I’m level 88 in PoE currently and have had an absolute blast - has still never felt like a grind and there is absolutely no shortage of things to do that are unique and different.
YES! YES! Someone else said it. I felt like I was the only one who saw it as a bad omen when the devs were making such drastic balance changes after a level 25 beta.
It's outright crazy! I appreciate that the D4 devs have disclosed so much information to the community, but balance adjustments based on a lvl 25 beta and loading every players stash when you see them.. These things really put their competence into question. Thanks for watching :)
Go watch the darth microtransaction reaction to the dev interview done ,the devs go on to mention how d4 is the first game alot of the team has worked on that right there explains the incompetence
I've been telling people the same since the massive nerf. The game is garbage and the devs are garbage too. And people still defending the game lol. Is not a game, it's a live service designed to be NOT fun. And just recently they announced $40 yearly expansion. Wtf.
I wanted D4 to succeed when I paid for the game. They showcased amazing damage and builds and then nerfed it all out day 1. I call that false advertising, the old "rug pull" and Blizzard can EAD for all future products. There are entirely too many options to play, most of them cheaper or even free and their quality and content outstrip this cash-grab dumpster-fire from Blizzard.
Just make the game without scaling. Have the game difficulty be static (still have WT's but have them be static too), and just make the game more challenging at the core level. Literally just do what D2R did back in 1998... It still works now, and it's *still* a better game. But they won't.
I have a level 100 rogue that uses that exact bow you were saying is useless with Penetrating shot and it's actually incredible, clears 100 dungeons easier than any of my flavor of the month builds like twisting rogue or the brainless necro builds.
I quit d4 days after launching and went back to d3. I'll wait a year for them to get the bugs worked out and redownload it to see if it's playable again. I'd also be happy seeing content from d3 again. It is after all what I'm playing right now.
Word. Blizzard blew the D4 launch. The game isn't done. it's still bug-ridden, and every patch is "fixed this issue" and then a bunch of nerfs/buffs. They're not adding features aside from seasonal content... if you can even call seasonal content "content". So, I quit D4 last night (this is the third time quitting, after level 33 and level 42, and now at level 43). It feels like the whole game is basically aimed at the seasons, and the base game suffered for it.
@@dr17719 I'll probably catch you in D2R someday soon haha. Maybe I'll even give PoE a second shot. My last time was well over 5 years ago and I've heard that its come a really long way.
A blizzard was riding high on June 1st, which was amazing. People started saying good things for a change about Blizzard and how they were turning the company around for the better. Then the Nerf happened, and now they're back to square one. I have six sons, and all of them were playing Diablo 4 at the start. Now only one of my sons is playing, and the rest of them left and went to BG3. What a damn shame that the nerf destroyed the player base. I saw that in my own family.
In my opinion, Activision Blizz (not to be confused with golden era Blizzard) is all about milking that selling/valuation price to Microsoft. People are confusing Activision Blizz with Old Blizzard (which does not exist anymore). Can't really compare games released under the old blizz with the new highly woke team now. Activision Blizzard is about milking franchises and building a microtransaction engines and inflating those share prices. Not about making cool games anymore. They had to scramble D4 to meet the potential acquisition from Microsoft. Believe me, by launching D4, they just added a couple of zeros to their acquisition price. Well worth the gamble to ship early. It also made sense that they canned OW2's development to keep the books looking better.
Every skill build should be viable without going online for a build guide. Shouldn't have to mix and match different skill categories, unless you want to. For example if I just go down the skill tree and pick the same "color" skill representing a certain type that they visually categorized by, I should be clearing end game content fine. Full fire sorcerer? Full earth druid? Full blood necro?
For sure. It's crazy because that is what they kept advertising this game as. It was supposed to be a "play your way" game where everything was viable. It doesn't feel like it though :(
I really dislike constantly redoing nightmare dungeons as they're so repetitive. Do the first part, enter an ambush room, do the second part, then boss. I think that it was more tolerable in Diablo 3 because you could at speed run those in 2 minutes. As for enchanting, what is the point of trying to reroll one good good affix when you probably have three out of four bad ones ? Especially when it 's very unlikely and is going to cost you millions in gold. I mean, you are already forced to farm dungeons, so better to just live with your chances of lucking into something better there. Also characters with an iota of personality and the occasional touch of light in the endless sea of darkness wouldn't hurt . I literally also ignore gems and anything non-ancestral now.
Agreed! I don't like spamming NM dungeons either and I can blast greater rifts for hours on end. Its the backtracking and tedious objectives that kill it for me. GR's were not a fantastic endgame system, but they were still a lot better than NM dungeons :(
bro im a long time diablo fan played D1 and D2 all my childhood i feel your pain and i asked all these questions too but from seeing D3 then DI and now D4 blizzard does not make the games i love anymore and i recently only found that out with D4 and its sad and even my hope has died i have uninstalled D4 even looked at S2 and not much rlly changes still the same crappy game its been. i use to dream about the future diablo games and what a dissapointed it has been since D3
I hear that. I feel that Blizzard really has its hooks in those of us that are susceptible to chasing nostalgia. The early days of Blizzard reflected gaming at its peak. I keep wanting to relive those days with their new titles, but its never the same. Not sure if you have tried D3 in the last 3 years, but it's come a surprisingly long way with their small dev team. They have a lot of heart and put in some good effort for being such a little group. If you'd ever want to try it again, season 29 might be a good time :)
there is no boss to rush in d4 ( for example baal runs) you just wander around or run the same like 10 dungeons over and over. gems are boring also no item synergies and items dropped by harder content can still just be the same crap you get if you fight a random thief somwere in the wilds. the boss from the league mecanic at least guarantees 1 item lvl 800 drop.
To equip a loot upgrade in d4 the items has to be. 1- Ancetral rare drop 2- higher item level 3- have atleast 3 bis stats vulnerable, crit, etc 4- you need to have an extracted aspect to replace, 5- millions of gold to reroll the bad stat. it is annoying to gear up and to have to check all those for every item that drops and you get a full stash every NMD
The gear is lame as upgrades are so miniscule that you need to be a mathematician to know if the gear is .054% better than what you already have equipped . The problem is that as soon as you level , every enemy in the game gets stronger by that .095 .
welcome back! you have been missed :D Im amazed you are still playing the game in some way... I'm only playing about 2-3h a week and Im still bored :( can recommed HC though. HC saved my motivation for a couple of weeks, but Im pretty much done with the game now and looking forward to season 29 :D:D:D:D:D very happy you are back making vids :-)
Happy to be back at it! Also happy to get back to D3 soon haha. I honestly would not have believed anyone who told me that I would be playing season 29 back in June when this launched xD In the meantime, perhaps I'll do some HC and hope that I die before I get level 100 and bored again lol. It's nice to hear from you!
D3 was my first Diablo.... couldn't get into at all for so many reasons. D4 pulled me right in. Recently picked up D2r and may never go back to D4 again.
Your first problem was your first mistake. None of you should have bought the game. It was obvious before launch that the game was a $70 live service designed to milk you rather than entertain you. You can't fix it because so many of you paid the $70 (or more). It's too late. Stop buying games with live service and a $60+ price tag if you want this to stop.
Theres certainly more than one way to improve D4, but as many others have said, the itemization is the main problem; If I'm not excited to pick up loot, it's not a good arpg.
Yes this is the main problem - the absurd amount of useless stats and the fact legendaries are just holders for affixes. So bad. They took a game that’s fun to play and pissed all over it.
I can understand why a YT content creator would hope that D4 succeeds. But I am not one, and I don't. I see the direction they have chosen with this game, and it's all about money. No one cares if the players will have fun. Only how much time they spend in-game. I can and have ranted a lot, I'm all spent now, happily exploring the world of BG3. Just came in to see yet another disgruntled Diablo veteran.
Yeah my hot take is blizzard has killed any goodwill I may of had for them before D4. I dont want them to do better, I just want them to crash and burn and be replaced by a company that actually gives af. They had too many chances and shat on all of them. As for me I've been enjoying BG3, armored core 6 and PoE.
Yeah truth be told if I didn't spend the last year making D3 content just to get established for D4, I wouldn't care nearly as much about the future of D4. Glad you're enjoying BG3. Everyone has been hyping it up lately, and its on my list :)
Problem is that they already made money from the hype train at launch, and plenty more from people buying stuff in game. So no matter how hard we complain or drop the game they still made money and the high ups consider their actions a success. Unless everyone walks and does not pre-order the next product they keep winning.
then the higher ups are gonna be in for a real treat. there are tons like me; that tried playing diablo immortal; and uninstalled it 10 min later; never to even touch diablo 4. so im not sure what numbers the higher ups are looking at. by the time blizzard tries to release something else tied to "diablo" it will be an utter failure ; and the board will understand what happened with the brand name.
POE made by 8 people (changed now) D4 made by 9000 "they say" proplem was it went though too many hand's!!!! as we say in the kitchen simple is good add to much makes it bland
D4 had many issues but the game was a good foundation at release. The deathblow was when the devs decided to nerf every single class right before Season 1. I literally uninstalled because of it.
Yeah, there were a ton of people who quit because of that. It was really stupid of them to do that before season 1 launched. If they did them at the same time, I don't think the seasonal players would have minded it as much. S1 gave soooo much power that we needed some kind of nerf, but we didn't need it before S1! Frustrating timing and bad decision making on their part.
The conditionals doesnt just apply to item affixes but also legendary aspects. Alot of them dont really provide any interesting effects, theyre mostly just damage number increases and in no way build defining like increase damage while barrier, increase damage to cc'd enemies, increase armor per hit. The aspects that change your abilities are too few and ineffective.
So true. On top of that, too many of the ones that do change your ability in a fun way typically say something like "it does x% less damage now" at the end haha.
@@Gitum ill give them some credit, theyre steering in the right direction and at least some aspects/legendaries are build defining, esp the druid ones. I mean they did make changes to the fireball glove and is now actually viable. Also the lightning ball aspects good now as well as the chain lightning one. There needs to be more of those changes. I feel theyre too conservative and boring, omnipower, that should have been an aspect for example.
Agree with all you spoke to. It is sad tho, because I really like the combat system and the graphics. But the rest of the game is so bad, I either log on 5 mins and quit because I am either bored as hell or feel all the frustrations of bad game design. I can't even muster the energy to craft a second build, even I would like to try other builds out. The game design is actually AGAINST playing a season longer so you can play different classes/builds. The campaign was good. But I don't want to level again. Once you get 1 character to say 80 or 85 during a new season, all other classes you make after that should just start at level 50. The game sucks at all the functions needed to prep for other classes. And its not just stash limits, its everything - aspects, paragons, all of it sucks to do and manage.
Well luckily if the game isn't fixed in a year you can play PoE2, it looks better than PoE(still an amazing game content wise) and the pacing looks to be a little closer to d4 in terms of combat... and they are stacking on the innovations in gameplay, something I was hoping d4 would do and is what I was mostly disappointed that they didn't do and made me rate it 5/10
Great video but that outro is fire. The moves. The sorta close-ish dunk. The tree branch moving. Love it. Also, couldn't agree more on D4. D4 has done more for PoE than it has for D4.
I quit playing POE years ago because I just couldn't grasp the crafting system. Found a new content creator who explained everything quite clearly and not looking back since getting suckered by Activision/Blizzard for the last time.
D4 and D3 have the same basic problems from start. 1. Developers trying to do something that the playerbase does not want (D3 Real money AH D4 live "service" with battlepass rather than proper seasonal content) 2. Neither hardware NOR game engines could actually provide what modern ARPG needed at the time. And this is where D4 is even worse off. The game is in a total mess in terms of what an ARPG needs to be in 2023. And even old Blizzard games of early 2004 valued the core of gameplay and immersion more than the loading screen hell and obvious server swapping instances crapp that is D4. Lets just admit that MASSIVE advertisement campaign sold D4 in some millions of copies. But then lets admit that the game is actually worse in terms of core technical features and gameplay than many indie games on steam. Considering the money that went into development AND the ad campaign... the game is total and utter shit.
Absolutely. The D3 RMAH was such a bummer. I remember being so furious when that was first announced. So glad that they did away with it. So true about the advertising campaign too. At this point Blizzard certainly isn't selling products on their goodwill with the community, so its all about that marketing campaign lol.
@@Gitum Exactly - And that is why D4 doesn't even have PTR servers. Cause they make more money through marketing and emergency campfires than to actually provide decent game.
the fact that you know you’re a hypocrite for buying the skin is the reason why this game sucks. they can get money from you regardless, so what’s the point. speak with your wallet
1.1.0 was the turning point for the game. Arpg's are meant to be fun, not nerfed into the ground and become a chore. And they nave no recovered since then. Season 1 is a joke, Season 2 is pretty much Season 1 reskinned. Activision have no direction, no drive, no skill. Upside I see Titan Quest 2 has been announced on Steam. So might have an Arpg yet soon(ish) thats decent.
I fee like such a sucker for buying this game around launch. Especially after playing the incredible Baldur`s Gate 3. BG3 is feature complete, no microtx or DLCs, no dumb battlepasses or seasons, and a huge interactive world. I'm never buying a Blizzard game again unless it's after a year or more, on discount, with all the inevitable DLC included. Shameful. So mad at myself for spending $70. ActMan has a great video on the Diablo failures. Shame. Been playing Diablo games since D1 and the difference is obvious in our new "mOdErN gAmInG" era.
I’m new to seasons so far i don’t like it one bit. it just takes away from the standard game too much i have eternal realm characters i don’t even touch cause I’m too busy trying to level up my season character.
I've heard so many positive things about BG3 lately and am really tempted to give it a shot. I guess I don't have much else going on while I wait for S29 of D3, so I probably will xD
So around 12:30 you were mentioning Diablo 2 leveling... see my problem is that comparison is not really fair... you don't need max level in D2 to conduct end game content or any content for that matter... the only thing that gates you is your rng / luck of rolls etc. and maybe some good trades and rune upgrades in the cube and you can do all content in the mid 80s without issue...but the hunt of finding more loot that you want keeps drawing you back in... and eventually even from just farming pits / chaos / baal even if you play solo you will easily be level 95+ in a season BUT those last few levels are an absolute slog! Where as in diablo 4... its just a slog after level 70-75 imo and the only reason I farmed to 100 was to make life easier via paragon points for lilith... good video overall though!
The only thing you can count on from Blizz is totally fubar everything. They can take a great game and ruin it so fast it's like they do it on purpose....and if it's ALREADY bad....I'm just glad I didn't buy it after reading all the negative feedback. On a brighter note, I DID just start playing D3 recently and am excited about season 29. It will be my first full season that I will get to play. You quickly became my favorite d3 content creator and I'm ecstatic that you will be returning to it. Looking forward to your videos.
Nice!! I am surprised that so many people who are commenting will also be playing season 29. I honestly wonder if season 29 may even be more popular than 28. After all, so many people seem upset with D4, but they still have that itch to play some Diablo. Looking forward to seeing you in D3 in a few weeks! :)
Did you mention the zoom? It's to close to the character. When on mount it's good. You don't see nearly enough with that much zoom. It's ridiculous and part of the getting killed by enemies outside your screen. Also, what kind of game lets you pick lots of skill, but there is nowhere to assign them, so you have to swap skills mid combat (which of course is mostly not doable) to use'em. It's silly... I mean why can i even choose more non-passive skills than I can assign then?
Haha I did mention the zoom. It was in my rapid fire of issues about half way through. You're absolutely right too, why is zoom good when mounted but not on foot?!
@@Gitum I think the mount zoom is doable in the outer world, but at the same time, you have never seen that kind of zoom in cellars or dungeons, which means they would perhaps not hold up with that kind of zoom lvl, meaning the game graphics would break if you zoomed out that much. This is of course only speculative.
rerolling stats is so depressing in d4. Every time i find an item with 3 good stats and i try rerolling the 4th stat, i'm wasting so much gold to the point that a reroll costs around 6mil...
Omg I can't believe that I forgot to mention the reroll system. It used to be a little bit tolerable, but now that they have removed the priority system, it's completely insufferable. Couldn't agree with you more!
Thanks for the sub! I'll be checking out your channel to see some PoE content. I haven't played PoE in about ~6-7 years and I've heard that it's really developed into quite an incredible game :)
You're too kind! I'd love to hear your take on it. I'm wondering if I should give D3 another go after this entire debacle too. I tried D4, couldn't get into the nightmare dungeons and returned to PoE. Looking to try Last Epoch soon, maybe D3 again too :)@@Gitum
@@TalkativeTri I'm planning on doing S29 of D3 this weekend with the launch coming up on Friday. Once I burn out, I'll hop into some PoE and perhaps make a video! Just watched your most recent video by the way. You do great work!
22:05 - Can you imagine any other business. "Well Timmy, give'em another $200m and 6 more years to try again". And so on and so forth. I've been a big Diablo fan for many years. In fact, since I was a kid and this has been really frustrating for me. Maybe they should take a page up out of the OverWatch book and create an experimental test realm?
It's incredible that they chose to do a system that is basically greater rifts all over again, but more tedious. The backlash resulting from greater rift repetition being an unintuitive endgame should have really made them consider what kind of endgame they wanted in D4.
seasoned diablo player 20 years. didn't even get to lvl 45. was a snooze fest. that boss fight her son that respawned multiple times. I was so done at that point lol. the scaling made item upgrades lame. and don't get me started on the skin shop... in a loot game. they're so desperate to raping your wallet, thats all they care about. 20 bucks a skin
Oh yeah for sure. I was really disappointed by 45. If anything, my experience improved after the campaign because you can actually challenge yourself a little bit in the endgame. The campaign was just too easy and like you said, level scaling really didn't make good drops feel exciting until I was finally in World Tier 4.
Cannot agree more. Especially there are too many garbage loots and too many garbage affixes. Every time I finish a nightmare dungeon, I have to check one by one and of course most looks are garbage. It is kind of like you have a 30 multiple-choice questions quizz after each run.
i stopped playing d3 right before they started dropping items like candy for everyone. saw my brother play one time and i was like wtf!! back in d2, the iem drops meant something. d4 items are just oh another xx... except for uber unqiues lol. my problems still are the phasing/layering lags, tp to dc, and all problems that can lead to d4 just needing a end task
I don't think it's the problem with live service, PoE is a free live service game and it did good for the past 10+ years and about to launch PoE2, the problem is the incompetency of Blizzard or whoever making decision with D4.
Luckily I purchased d4 with WoW gold (about 1 million worth of Blizz tokens), and not actual money, - so I didn't feel as bad for giving up on a newly purchased game in under a week. Was really pumped to play d4 on launch, because I was getting bored of Dragonflight season 2 . Found my enjoyment level plummeting after each hour I sunk into d4.. For me the gameplay loop itself was the issue - combat feels overly simplified and gimmicky. Definitely got the vibe that it was shaped for the limitations of console controllers.
I will report you for insulting the garbage. D4 is not even worth it . Many streamers explain that D4 is a ARPGs so people only play this game 2 3 weeks than quit than come back 😂sorry this is 2023 and people don’t look back on a boring game. If you make people losing interest that means they will not come back. They made me feel like I played a D2 not D4. They use the same content as D2, nothing change and at the same time D3 still get seasonal contents. The only thing D4 introduced to gamer is the campaign aka the Diablo IP. As soon as you finish the campaign at lvl 50, you can quit this game already because nothing is waiting for you on higher level😂
Holy shit, 3 or 4 characters at level 100? I'm at level 90 and just can't stomach any more nightmare dungeons. The past few days I've only been world boss logging to finish the season journey.
@@mattb6646 - Yeeah, that's wild. My highest was 88 on eternal and by that time it was becoming a bit of a slog. I haven't played since the first week of the season though.
@@ThFoil same, I made it to like 40 on season... I couldn't play for more than an hr at a time and I was basically forcing myself, poe been a blast as usual though
Yeah lol. I am confident that one day I'll enjoy D4 once they work out this overwhelming list of issues. At least now I know which classes I like lol. That's about the most positive thing I can say about playing for this long 😂
i fell asleep in eternal realm, is a braindead mode, i play hardcore because is not really hardcore with the cheat death potion but is challenging enough to play with my eyes open, got a 100 hc sorc and a 97 hc rogue had alot of fun playing and gearing them. i don't think eternal mode could ever be fixed there is no reason to keep leveling after you start one shotting everything at least in hardcore getting to 100 or lilith requires focus instead of just free time
I had never played Diablo before the 4th one. I started as a Rogue. My necromancer friend helped carry me through and he told me Rogue was one of the weakest classes, so I started over. I pick Barbarian, still wasn’t doing that great. Every necromancer was kicking butt. Finally I broke down and make a necromancer only for the necromancer to get immediately nerfed. I figured why bother, I just let people carry me through until I got bored and quit playing.
You still got your spirit that just wants to enjoy a good game to have some unadult fun, like back in the days. 👍 Meanwhile at ActiBlizz HQ they're talking *expectation management* ... /subbed =)
I don't agree with removing conditional damage and damage reduce. Thinking about your character build and your play style and how to amplify it is part of the fun. If all the affixes just work the same for all play styles, then everything is the same. No variation. I do how ever think we need load outs. So we can switch up our build and play style more easily. It will give more room for experimentation, and more to do end game, as you'd want to find gear and level glyphs for different builds.
I think this video was spot on except from the cross play... I for one chose to play D4 on my PS and i know many others that have as well as the split screen also adds another way to play with friends. I do think cross play is to blame for lack of content.. D4 is in trouble with games like BG3 and Starfield taking a big chunk of their players just because people just don't like that ridiculous aimless grind....
The problem is that they are mostly needed for renown bonuses so that removes the "optional" aspect of it and now forces you to waste time finding them all.
i knew d4 was going to be shit when they tried to reveal diablo immortal thinking their bread and butter pc players were going to give a shit about a mobile game. still gave diablo 4 a fair shake, in return it gave me shaky diarrhea
I’ve never played a mobile game. They seem stupid and pointless your phone screen is too small why not play on a big screen tv ? Why not use a controller so you are not limited to how many buttons you have ? There’s more such as constant micro transactions.
I bought a new computer just to run D4. I'm level 72 in this season and besides the part where the Heart powers are the only thing that make my Necro viable, I am not having fun. Rare gear is just work as I sort through it before trashing it, nightmare dungeons are a joyless slog of fetch quests and backtracking. I'm more looking forward to the new season of D3 because at least I like that endgame.
totally agree... at 1st I complain about this BS in the game but then i found out the developer are lesbian and not a gamer im not sexist but we all know they are not capable of giving a great idea about making the game.. they are focus on environment the details of everything the design... but gameplay nah... nothing we can expect from them TBH..
@@mattb6646 agree.. about the environment design... totally detailed.. but like i said.. its like if you compare it to cars.. someone with no knowledge they will just look for the outside details of cars.. but for those knows a lot.. they ll check every parts.. i think d4 should have diff department who will develop gameplay not only design
I don't think people realize they made D4 as if it was the Manhattan project. Dozens of departments where each department has no idea what other departments are doing. This is why the game seems "off" in so many ways. Itemization, end game, UI, stash, codex/aspects, open world etc.
How do all these streamers have a bunch of level 100 characters ? I’ve been playing since the game came out nearly every day and I still don’t have a 100. Also increased potion capacity is actually really powerful you feel like you can run around almost unkillable short of getting one shotted.
Youre not leveling efficiently then. I can lvl 1-50 in a couple hours. Hit lvl 100 on first character in about 2 weeks into season 1, and that was before the mob density patch.
Yeah you probably don't spend enough of your time actually killing mobs. And potions affix does suck. If your defenses are good you won't need potions and if your dodging ability is good you also won't need them... leaving an extra affix for offense or one that completes your defense or mobility
Honestly the trick to leveling fast in any ARPG is spending as little time as possible in town and as much time as possible killing monsters. In all honesty, I've probably never needed more than 5 potions at a time in this game though. Stack damage reduction stats and armor on your chest/pants and you won't need many potions. Good luck on your journey to 100 :)
@@plaguedoctor5657 Yeah, it is indeed the way people do it. It slows down a lot starting at level 50. There is another slight decline again at 70, but it's not as dramatic. If you really want to get 100 as fast as possible, ignore any piece of gear on the ground if you already have a good item in that slot and spend all of your time killing monsters instead of checking gear for slight upgrades. Good luck :)
Careful with feedback. If its not "constructive criticism" they won't care. And by that it means do their job for them by giving them ideas on how to fix it. I remember a day when devs took any feedback and made a rational decision on the matter. Not needed their hand held for it to be called feedback. Well made video in my eyes though.
@@Gitum No I'd say it's constructive brother, you didn't go ham as if you hated the game. Just said what was wrong with the game. They probably won't because they say you need to give them ideas to fix it. Need to do their job for them for it be "constructive" in their eyes.
I just deleted D4 from my pc last night after not touching it for two months. I was at ch5 with two 'toons in the low 40's (whirly barb and sorcerer) but I was utterly bored by it. I had no desire to run around finding all the bloody statues, the zoom level was horrible, too many crappy stats on crappy drops to make new drops fun, tiny wee stash (do they really load everyone's stash on seeing them, seriously?!) the level scaling (nothing screams fun like all the quest/dungeon mobs leveling with you!), one viable build per class etc. Boring. Boring. Boring.
Gitum. I liked your video. I'm posting in season 3 and today they released the Gauntlet. well let me tell you the Gauntlet Sucks. If you don't have all the Uber's like the ones that Farm everyday from buying your Admissions for the runs from 3rd party websites then your just wasting your time. I was so excited when D4 first launched but I'm like you Blizzard has really shit all over the game. No Itemization .no way to join pubs it's almost like the Devs have gotten lazy or they just don't give a shit. also they Do Not Reward Players Like a ARPG should. May I Suggest a very fun Game I found called Last Epoch it's kinda Like D4 But on Steroids a lot of fun. I have left D4 and wont look Back till they get there shit together. thanks for the vid
I got my barbarian to level 73 on eternal realm and that was it. There isn't anything else for me to do for my character. I'm not starting my barbarian over again every season. That being said, the campaign was amazing and i felt i got my monies worth from the game after beating it.
7:06 regarding the list of affixes TheActMan did a great video on how bad this is but its designed that way so you spend longer looking at items to check everything so you end up spending longer playing the game. Constantly going back to town to sell junk while looking for an impossibly low odds chance of finding perfect stats. If they get rid of junk affixes then the players play for less time
D4 isn’t flawed, to me, for any reason besides the loot. The aspects broke the game. Loot an item, can’t equip it because you don’t have the aspect you need. Carry the item for 10+ levels still no aspect (yes this happened to me multiple times). Season 1? Jewelry made this worse. Wrong color socket? Useless. Can’t find the right heart? Useless. When “Armor of the Whale” drops you get the dopamine hit. I don’t get that in D4 ever because I know even if it’s an upgrade odds are I can’t equip it. I started a Druid. Played 30 levels and NEVER found the aspect I needed to really make the build viable. At this point I realized the game is flawed in a way it’s unplayable to me. Nothing else matters if this isn’t fixed.

You just forgot to talk about resistances, why do they exist if they are useless?
Game is fun until around level 75-80. NMs are the same. Overworld is pointless. Helltides only worth doing for Mystery chest. My Eternal char feels noticeably worse in every way without the OP hearts. I want D4 to get good. I’m not deleting yet.
And I would like to add, they are not getting review bombed that is mostly honest criticism. Review bomb is when abunch of people review a site in order to artificially drag down a rating similar to a DDoS but with ratings. Blizzard keeps saying review bombed, please let's not aid them in forming a false narrative.
I uninstalled D4 a few days ago. Just started PoE and with Mortal Kombat coming in a few weeks I dont see me coming back to D4 for about 2 years if my D3 experience is anything to go by
@@marcodxd3631 what platform? Xbox, class? A fire caster witch that has a few zombies. But mostly fire elements. Not bothering with guides or anything. Just playing it as I go. If I decide I like the game and want I get more serious I will look up a good starter class.
They say that art reflects the artist which says a lot about Blizzard considering instead of setting players up to succeed, they mostly ignore bugs and complaints, and keep putting out micro transactions and nerfing everything to the ground.
I don't feel the Open World level critics. As a blaster I'm already at ~50-55 in WT4 and the monsters are a min. of 20 level above me. If I do helltide, even after 75, the monsters are 3 levels above me. So the XP gain is there. To be honest, which 90 lvl char is doing open world stuff? All people on my FL are doing NM Dungeons and helltide. The only thing, they should change is, that legion events are like helltide 3 levels above. Renown (which are gone in season 2) will be mostly completed at an early stage of leveling or a later stage with reduced WT level (to be quicker). So I personally see no problem in the reduced monster level. In general the game is much to easy. It was an effort to beat T100 pre-season, now it is a absolute joke! There are to much items dropping in total. Cheers to the casuals and consoleros. And yes, I'm going to play D3 S29, because in D4 is nothing left to do (3 chars season, T100, all sidequest, renown again, etc.).
Fact: They don’t want people playing past 100. They want you creating new seasonal characters each season and spending money on battlepass and cosmetics.
I just finished the game for the first time after playing it for nearly 80 hours. I was so excited to start a new character on WT3. Since WT2 is a difficulty made for toddlers. However my excitement died upon seeing that I have to beat the cathedral of light with my new character. So basically I have to level up another character to 50 or at least close enough to that level. That is too much grind, too much contempt for their audience. Not to mention level scaling is in my eyes the worst thing this game does. I am going to try Grim Dawn now.
i went back to playing Diablo 1 and 2. uninstalled 3, and refused to buy Diablo 4 due to the LIVE service crap and not having an offline mode like the first 2 games HAVE.
RIP D4-D5 (6/1/23 - 8/1/23) "2 Months Life Span." This is THE BEST d4 video on youtube. Nailed everything on the spot 110% F*** D4, & F*** Activision Blizzard!!
I was personally excited to play a druid once more after it not being in D3 and necro finally coming to D3 which quickly became my main. However as soon as they said it was always on, live service like immortal, i didn't bother with buying it. If a game is always online, you don't own it, your basically leasing it until they randomly shut the servers down then you can never play it again. MMO's make sense to always be online, D4 which most will play solo doesn't need to be always online, it's simply to dangle a rotten carrot at players to try and get them to commit to market manipulation. If there was a patch in D2 you didn't like it wasn't hard to re-patch it with an older patch, that's not an option with always online. Blizz since Activision took over has taken so many steps back with all their IP's you swear Michael Jackson learned how to moonwalk from Blizz... OW - was shut down for OW2 because it was being rebuilt with a PVE mode/story came out as a lie it was just to vastly update the in-game store and reset most peoples progress in OW1, OW2 requires separate phone #'s for multiple people from the same household to play it. Teams dropping from 5v5(?) to 4v4 breaking quiet a few characters that relied on the old number queue ups. WC3 - RoC and TFT being shut down and having to use REFORGED edition of B.Net which has a worse chat channels/UI than before, plus hundreds of CTD (crash to desktop) aka Fatal Errors. Deleting your account name/friends list from RoC/TFT so the online friends you played with can't be played with because it goes off of your b.net name not your account name. DI - it's well there nothing more needs to be said. WoW - more and more of the game is just doing daily chores that don't really matter or accomplish anything, Villains growing weaker and weaker lore wise but somehow are portraited as way stronger than the last expo's villain. Having a checklist of things to do weekly/monthly for currency for a trading outpost, which will soon be probably revamped to be extremely expensive and currency sold for 15-20 dollars per batch. More Warcraft heroes being shown as not powerful at all and defenseless 99.9% of the time until you nearly kill the target then they can fend for themselves. HoTS - While great during Beta slowly died as they released new heroes that did old heroes roles way better. Why play the Barb when Butcher eats her alive? Lost Vikings was a great set of heroes if you were used to play Starcraft and multi-tasking multiple lanes. Every hero seemed to have a use in the beginning then it was mostly just use to most recent heroes to win older heroes were outdated. Hearthstone - i can't speak for it personally i had gotten out of card battling a decade ago... so personally neutral. Starcraft - It was great for a long time until they started adding Premium placement in Arcade Lobbies so you never have to wait your turn for the most popular games. Matchmaking took most of the spotlight and they let Co-op and Arcade improvements to map editor die out. Almost all of these games were Iconic and just left to rot for as long as they could be milked for cash, could blizzard be revived by microsoft leadership? maybe, but not likely sadly.
I F*cking hate the rerolling of affixes in the Occultist. 1. It's super expensive 2. It gives you only two options 3. When you get the affix you want, you get the lowest 4. It always gives you the same affix you're trying to roll out, most of the time lower value I completely agree, there are LOTS of trash gear affixes in this game.
The funny thing about your PC vs Console argument is Diablo III is arguably better on console. The sad thing is Diablo III actually has much better console controls than Diablo IV. The animation lock on melee, Snap to target, and lack of ability to really control certain abilities like Shred with the dash upgrade really suck.
the problem is the itemization in d4 is anoying and boring so you lose the will to play very fast. In d2 ppl do mepth runs or chaos runs over and over because of getting that piece of loot you need is fun.
If there ever is a sign Blizzard is no more...This is it
Well put.
If they just added some stash space in D2R, I would be happy, but they won't because they want me to waste my time managing my stash/inventory.
best thing you could do is do what I did, uninstall and fix your copy that you bought..
Blizzard listened to the wrong ppl who likely complained the loudest.
D4 is simply too easy. There's no challenge. Once you figure out an op build, it's hold down dance of knives and spin to win. 😂
I literally choose to let bosses hit ne for a cpl seconds just to experience their abilities and how hard they hit.
So true and so sad. Blizzard just feeds on our nostolgia :(
Blizzard ended when wrath of the lich king ended. When Activision took over in 2008 that was the end of a great company.
Go watch the darth microtransaction reaction to the dev interview done ,the devs go on to mention how d4 is the first game alot of the team has worked on that right there explains the incompetence
best game ever
10/10 not playing
Plenty have been saying it.. Its just 🤡 in denial defending a turd and wanting to polish the turd
Newsflash - - the game was coded by interns. This is not even a joke. That's now much Blizzard cared about this game. This game will not be fixed.
I quit d4 days after launching and went back to d3. I'll wait a year for them to get the bugs worked out and redownload it to see if it's playable again.
I'd also be happy seeing content from d3 again. It is after all what I'm playing right now.
I'll see ya in D3! Thanks for watching :)
BG3 had over 1,000 bug fixes in its first post release Patch.
I went back to D2R and POE.
@@dr17719 I'll probably catch you in D2R someday soon haha. Maybe I'll even give PoE a second shot. My last time was well over 5 years ago and I've heard that its come a really long way.
man of course is bnoring and garbage you literally finished the game 5 times ahahah
Changes didn't happen to diablo 2 at all other than the expansion (which was hated at the time), unless you're talking about resurrected.
It doesn't feel like it though :(
The scaling enemies was the worst decision they made
I really dislike constantly redoing nightmare dungeons as they're so repetitive.
D3 is good, D3 and D4 is different dimensions...even D2 are straightforward and outdated boring for semi-casual play...
there is no boss to rush in d4 ( for example baal runs) you just wander around or run the same like 10 dungeons over and over. gems are boring also no item synergies and items dropped by harder content can still just be the same crap you get if you fight a random thief somwere in the wilds. the boss from the league mecanic at least guarantees 1 item lvl 800 drop.
HC saved my motivation for a couple of weeks, but Im pretty much done with the game now and looking forward to season 29 :D:D:D:D:D
very happy you are back making vids :-)
Happy to be back at it! Also happy to get back to D3 soon haha. I honestly would not have believed anyone who told me that I would be playing season 29 back in June when this launched xD
In the meantime, perhaps I'll do some HC and hope that I die before I get level 100 and bored again lol.
@@mattb6646 Love From Software. I haven't bought it yet but plan on it ASAP! Been considering doing a Bloodborne series on this channel!
Yeah truth be told if I didn't spend the last year making D3 content just to get established for D4, I wouldn't care nearly as much about the future of D4. Glad you're enjoying BG3. Everyone has been hyping it up lately, and its on my list :)
@@Gitumthe hype is fake like always but that being said all I can say is buy the game cause the game is underhyped
Problem is that they already made money from the hype train at launch, and plenty more from people buying stuff in game. So no matter how hard we complain or drop the game they still made money and the high ups consider their actions a success. Unless everyone walks and does not pre-order the next product they keep winning.
then the higher ups are gonna be in for a real treat.
there are tons like me; that tried playing diablo immortal; and uninstalled it 10 min later; never to even touch diablo 4.
so im not sure what numbers the higher ups are looking at.
by the time blizzard tries to release something else tied to "diablo"
it will be an utter failure ; and the board will understand what happened with the brand name.
POE made by 8 people (changed now) D4 made by 9000 "they say" proplem was it went though too many hand's!!!! as we say in the kitchen simple is good add to much makes it bland
For real. It's crazy to think about. Too many cooks isn't a good thing.
Eh, this is like saying, "The house we built you has a good foundation, as for the home itself, we'll finish it later"
D3 represents the fall of Blizzard.
D4 represents the death of Blizzard.
Fair enough. I don't mind where D3 eventually ended up , but I don't see them ever capturing the magic of D2 again :(
Agree with all you spoke to.
What about that pinecone jump? Took me all day to land that one bro. Haha thanks for the comment
I quit playing POE years ago because I just couldn't grasp the crafting system. Found a new content creator who explained everything quite clearly and not looking back since getting suckered by Activision/Blizzard for the last time.
Yeah after the immortal shit show I had zero hopes for D4 and glad I never bought it! I’d rather play D2R and D3
Yeah, no kidding. DI was such a bad publicity move. Hope its making them rich at the cost of their reputation. Hope to see you in D3 S29 lol.
D4 and D3 have the same basic problems from start.
1. Developers trying to do something that the playerbase does not want (D3 Real money AH D4 live "service" with battlepass rather than proper seasonal content)
BG3’s first patch had a 1,000 bug fixes.
Thanks, I appreciate it! :)
Then don't buy or play the game. It's that simple.
D3 had item stats perfected! Main stat, crit, cb, and you could play with other 2.
Your Necro transmog looks 10x worse than the free ones ingame.
Ironically hydra was the one build i actually had a little fun playing... sure felt good to be powerful.
But it was fun.. and blizzard f*cked that up too
Did you mention the zoom?
The best thing that came out of Diablo 4 for me was finding Path of Exile. Totally worth the $70.
I thought the game was fine for the first time players. It was pretty fun for first 70 hrs
rerolling stats is so depressing in d4.
I'm a Path of Exile player/creator, but I like hearing the opinion of the competition. Subscribed!
For real! D3 has the PTR. Although it spoils upcoming seasonal content, it ensures that it is balanced and functional. I'd like to see this in D4.
I can’t make myself grind nightmare dungs. without getting bored out of my mind.
It's incredible that they chose to do a system that is basically greater rifts all over again, but more tedious. The backlash resulting from greater rift repetition being an unintuitive endgame should have really made them consider what kind of endgame they wanted in D4.
@@Gitum yes it does feel like D3 endgame over again. 🫤
seasoned diablo player 20 years. didn't even get to lvl 45. was a snooze fest. that boss fight her son that respawned multiple times.
I do agree on the item "attributes" list, pretty dumb.
Dont worry d4 will be great in season 28 maby 29, just give them another 10 years to pull of a semi decent bake on it.
i stopped playing d3 right before they started dropping items like candy for everyone. saw my brother play one time and i was like wtf!! back in d2, the iem drops meant something. d4 items are just oh another xx... except for uber unqiues lol. my problems still are the phasing/layering lags, tp to dc, and all problems that can lead to d4 just needing a end task
So true. I love everything about items in D2 far more than D3 or D4. D2's itemization, drop rates and trade economy are top notch.
I'm going back to Diablo III, see you there!
Haha I'm amazed how many comments I have received from people who are going back to D3. Season 29 is going to be poppin' off!
"D4 bad"
Dude has 5 level 100 💀
He has 5 100s according to his char screen... my highest was 75 in eternal 😂
That's about the most positive thing I can say about playing for this long 😂
@@mattb6646yeah, I meant to say 3 or 4 seasonal characters but totally spaced when actually typing it
i fell asleep in eternal realm, is a braindead mode, i play hardcore because is not really hardcore with the cheat death potion but is challenging enough to play with my eyes open, got a 100 hc sorc and a 97 hc rogue had alot of fun playing and gearing them. i don't think eternal mode could ever be fixed there is no reason to keep leveling after you start one shotting everything at least in hardcore getting to 100 or lilith requires focus instead of just free time
I had never played Diablo before the 4th one.
Diablo 4 sucks the worse arpg to date period... go play poe.
How do you get the motivation to get so many level 100 characters? I only got to 78 and I was already bored of the game.
Eh mostly just because I spent the last year making a Diablo channel in hopes of D4 being solid. Joke is on me though lol.
I didn't buy or play the game and I want to throw up listening to this, great job Blizzard....
> I didn't buy or play the game
Congratulations. You passed the test that many failed.
You still got your spirit that just wants to enjoy a good game to have some unadult fun, like back in the days. 👍
Meanwhile at ActiBlizz HQ they're talking *expectation management* ...
/subbed =)
Why no matchmaking???
Ahh that is cool. Maybe I am biased because none of my friends play Diablo haha. Thanks for watching! :)
Lol. I actually liked the altars of Lilith. Felt like treasure hunting. But I used a map to find then.
Dang haha. Thanks for letting me know. I am truly jealous of you and wish I could have that same positive mentality lol.
The problem is that they are mostly needed for renown bonuses so that removes the "optional" aspect of it and now forces you to waste time finding them all.
@@smokelord2002 but yea I think doing them one time is enough.
i knew d4 was going to be shit when they tried to reveal diablo immortal thinking their bread and butter pc players were going to give a shit about a mobile game. still gave diablo 4 a fair shake, in return it gave me shaky diarrhea
I’ve never played a mobile game. They seem stupid and pointless your phone screen is too small why not play on a big screen tv ? Why not use a controller so you are not limited to how many buttons you have ? There’s more such as constant micro transactions.
LOL! I love this comment. Thanks for watching haha.
Well to be fair they were level designers.. they may or may not be idiots but their job is actually to worry about the design of the game
@@virginlola7598 yeah the gameplay and lack of content is trash, whoever developed that needs to be replaced, we just didn't get to meet them
I don't think people realize they made D4 as if it was the Manhattan project. Dozens of departments where each department has no idea what other departments are doing. This is why the game seems "off" in so many ways. Itemization, end game, UI, stash, codex/aspects, open world etc.
Bought it, played it, shelved it, all befor season 1.
I will be back in a year or two and use that free season pass.
@@Gitumjust hit 60 and feel like NM dungeons while most efficient still seems slow….. is this really the way people do it??
Haha well put. I hope I kept it constructive enough for them. Probably not xD
Thanks for the post! I've played some Last Epoch & am enjoying it a lot :)
Just started PoE and with Mortal Kombat coming in a few weeks I dont see me coming back to D4 for about 2 years if my D3 experience is anything to go by
what you playing poe if you dont mind me asking
@@marcodxd3631 what platform? Xbox, class? A fire caster witch that has a few zombies. But mostly fire elements. Not bothering with guides or anything. Just playing it as I go. If I decide I like the game and want I get more serious I will look up a good starter class.
d2 is, has been and always will be the best Diablo. rip Blizzard. I'm surprised they didn't make d2 a live service mess when they remade it! 😂 😂 😂
RIP D4-D5 (6/1/23 - 8/1/23) "2 Months Life Span."
This is THE BEST d4 video on youtube.
1. It's super expensive
2. It gives you only two options
3. When you get the affix you want, you get the lowest
4. It always gives you the same affix you're trying to roll out, most of the time lower value
I completely agree, there are LOTS of trash gear affixes in this game.
They are taking all of the money they are earning and putting it back into the game, in the form of an expansion, which they will sell to us...
No they don't need filler stats. What they need is for each stat to be important to a specific type of build.
the problem is the itemization in d4 is anoying and boring so you lose the will to play very fast. In d2 ppl do mepth runs or chaos runs over and over because of getting that piece of loot you need is fun.
on point... i might add that aspects are a problem in the first place. they should have stayed with the legendary items like D2 / D3
