Recently got this game on the nintendo switch and while it performs fine I find I'm not enjoying it because of how difficult to control it is, I cant seem to craft what I want to or collect what I need and when I look up videos like these they dont seem to be having the same issues, it's very frustrating.
Agreed 100%, there are things that I just have no idea how to do, like basic crafting.

this game is so confusing been playing for 50 mins and i dont understand a thing i dont know how to craft or anything where can i see recipes and stuff, how do i fill a canister how do i get power why cant i craft in a medium printer, so confusing

Please excuse my English and typing skills as I went to public school. I started watching your video and had to comment on a few things in hopes of getting your attention because my initial thoughts of your video was basically "OMG I mean who does this" which I mean as well that nobody that I have seen actually starts a tutorial immediately puts you in unlost mode and even going as far as to tell us the purpose or goal of the game. BRILLIANT!~! TY so much for a well put together and thought out video, it definitely helped me.

I bought this game on Early Access Release and have been playing it now and then, but now i really havnt played for a long time and wanted a Beginners Guide. I know I'm late to this video but i found out the best way for me to play was co op with a friend and just going with what happens
Take it the way it comes and do what you need and im having a blast

So I was starting to play this game with my friends.We are all in the lobby,some tutorial shows up in the face and I like a chad have decided to skip the it.This was last moments a of my brain being alive.We spend 3 hours digging around without knowing how to craft.(thanks for the tut btw)

I never got to play video games as a kid, and Im trying to get into it now as an adult. I really like stardew and slime rancher, so this game looked fun. One of the things that makes me not buy games is that I know they wont explain how to play. Most games are made expecting you to have years of gamer intuition developed, so it-s a hobby that-s really hard to get into if you didnt start at 10 years old. I appreciate your video because I-ve tried playing this game like 3 times since everyone raves about how great it is, but the controls are so difficult to understand.

Bruh you didn’t explain how to quick place tethers using lb or rb , this is very important
Astroneer has been free with the Xbox Game Pass for a while now... but I didn't decide to pick it up until just yesterday. Man is it fun, but took me like an hour before I knew I had a terrain tool. 😅

The controls are too hard and wonky it takes while to get hang of it. I can't figure out how to make tethers for air I figured it out on accident once lol I think I just need more materials idk but other than that it's fun.

hi great video! i am playing astroneer on xbox gamepass but i cannot connect with friends, how do i fix this? i tried going into coop and inviting them but it comes up with an error saying that a player is already in session. do you know anything?

I might be tarded but the UI is so bad I couldn't play. Click on the printer and it disconnects it, no explanation how to put tethers.

Hi Brooke, just got back from vacation and sorry I couldn't answer sooner. Not sure what platform you are on but if you look at the Astropedia it will give you the correct controls for your platform. On PC it is the 'E" key.

Tried several times to give this game a fair shake...but alas. What an amazing concept buried completely under tedium and possibly THE WORST CONTROLS of any game I've ever played. Especially on Switch. I don't understand how this game is so lauded. Whatever
Yo no offense but when doing a guide like this try and do things in order your legit all over the place my guy died of oxygen waaaaaaaay before you said anything to even help with that....
