my friend bought one and lent it to me for a week. the next day he opens his door to find me, in a blue jumpsuit i painted a yeallow 76 on, blasting music from this thing. he thanked me, and now wears it to work everyday :)
Or when they released the one for Fallout 4, you could strap your smartphone into it. It would have been so much cooler if they made the dials and buttons on it connect to the phone app via bluetooth so you can actually use them like in game.

Not really, because those other models are on full A4 paper and have each step laid out in various different sized boxes, diagrams and do it all with text and image scaling.
Adding tiny pieces to a model kit is easy when you can actually S E E where it's supposed to go and not crammed in beneath a layer of other smaller pieces that also overlap each other.
This kit isn't easy. A full grown man would struggle with this.

won one from "ride for the feast" - Moveable Feast ally cat few years back. Only thing you needed was a cellphone that could run the app oh and fit into the pimp um... pip-boy. Some one could turn one of the base kits into a working cosplay device.

This thing looks cool but there's one more thing that doesn't let me be calm. This Pip-Boy doesn't even work. They should've put some things in it like clock, radio or something. I think it would be enough.
They actually released an alarm clock version of this previously (fallout 3 special edition maybe?) and they also released a version with fallout 4 that you could use with your cellphone and it links to the actual pip boy in game so you can use meds through your phone screen.

Although Fallout 76 has not been well received, I think that edition of the Pip Boy is great !! very minimalist and a nice detail even if it doesn't make sounds or lights, it's a great idea

There is no electronics in there, the wires are a part of the design and there are no circuit boards or anything, but you can buy mods for it now to make it “Functional”
It's not bad I built it. It just takes time and don't lose the pieces.

After seeing this I see just how lazy of a design the 76 pipboy is compared the the previous ones, I mean come on why take out the entire back of it?
I think i have an explanation, because 76 is the earliest date in fallout and also vault 76 was the first sealed, Bethesda didn't want to give the same reused pip boy model, but they couldn't do a pip boy 2000 as it's handheld, so they made the pip boy 2000 mk IV
making it handheld so it makes sense why the two are different in design as there completely different models
It is meant to looke like the pip-boy from fallout 1 and 2
