    Wish subarus weren’t that expensive to rebuild with forged parts.

    Interested to see your experience with this swap. I have a 08 wrx, 6 speed swap, JDM ej20x, built block/built heads, functioning quad avcs, closed deck, blouch 🐌, link ecu, full e85/flex conversion…
    It can make power, but takes some configuring, that never seems to end lol

      Mine is no where near this modded/built. This is a few simple bolt ons. You’d sounds roudy!

    Love the content! Are Subaru engines that easy to pull?

      Thanks
      For the support!
      This one was mostly disassembled when I got it, so it was extra easy.
      But I can take a fully together one, and have a motor out in 1.5-2.5 hours depending how quickly I work, so they’re not too bad. The non turbo ones are much easier.

    Looking to do the same thing in the same car *17 STI.
    Wondering where you got the motor from?

      This was from jdm racing motors, I think. I’d have to double check. Feel free to shoot me a pm on another platform

    is the ej20x equivalent to the ej257?? I though it was a wrx equivalent, I was actually thinking of swapping one into my 1996 Legacy wagon. what would be a better swap maybe H6?

    • @_robertburger
      @_robertburger  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Equivalent, not sure. But it’s dual avcs like the 08+ sti, so it’s a nice drop in, hopefully.
      Anything will be a good amount of work except what the car was meant to have/directly plugs in

    Would this swap work on a early GD sti? 04-07?

    • @_robertburger
      @_robertburger  ปีที่แล้ว

      People do them yes. These ej20x’s are dual avcs. 04-07 sti are single avcs (intake only). Because of that, exhaust avcs needs to be deleted/deactivated. I’m not 100% sure how that works, but it’s doable. Some google searching/Facebook posts on groups should help clarify.

      I could but shipping would be very very expensive

    Can you swap a ej20x in to a usdm 04 wrx?

    • @_robertburger
      @_robertburger  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to delete intake and exhaust avcs, and I think it would be pretty lazy/slow then. I think you’d be better off with a ej205 replacement
