"Nel profondo cieco mondo" es un aria de la ópera Orlando Furioso de Vivaldi en donde Orlando, con un amor no correspondido (Angélica), promete obtener su corazón aún si deba matar a Medoro (de quién está enamorada Angélica). Sin embargo esa no es la razón por la cual "reclaman mutuamente".
En los tiempos barrocos, los teatros callejeros eran muy populares. Los cantantes e instrumentistas solían tener estas disputas para darse a conocer como "el mejor cantante". En este caso, Lemieux y Jaroussky realizan este acto, realizando un aria que se escribió originalmente para una voz (no dueto), y si te das cuenta, al final Lemieux se da por ganadora y él se aleja del escenario, indignado. Te dejo abajo la letra traducida del aria:
"En el profundo y ciego mundo
se precipite la suerte despiadada
para este corazón.
Vencerá el amor
pues es más fuerte con la ayuda del valor."
