    Like you, I run a commercial lawn maintenance company. I prefer the Toro timemaster over the Toro turfmaster or any other similar commercial grade 30-inch mower. Where do you usually buy your Toro parts?

  • @joeraptor1
    @joeraptor1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Thank you for the fantastic review. I mow 10 lawns on weekends as a part time job. I'm currently using a commercial Toro 21". I've debated getting the Timemaster but I'm not sure after watching your video. It seems like the Timemaster can save you upwards of 40% of your time on a lawn. Typically, it takes me 30 minutes just to do the mowing portion of my client's lawns. Trimming and blowing are extra. Theoretically, I could save 40% of the time with The Timemaster and bring it down to 12 minutes per lawn savings in time. Over 10 lawns, that would be 120 minutes or 2 hours. That's pretty good but now I have to consider the fact that most people have stated that the Timemaster doesn't do well in thick wet grass which is what I often encounter, especially in the spring. There also appears to be increased maintenance over the 21" commercial, less durable parts, higher fuel consumption, smaller fuel tank requiring more refills than the large 3.8 litre tank on my Toro, and less reliability compared to the commercial 21". Now, that time savings seems to quite a bit less than advertised by Toro. For these reasons, I've stuck with my commercial 21" units for now. What's really perplexing to me is the fact that Toro introduced this model in 2012. 10 years later, many of the reliability and performance issues are still there. Seems as with most large corporations, the focus in on profits and making disposable items instead of quality.

    • @Rubonios1
      @Rubonios1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You make some valid points. Quick math clarification. 30 minute average mow time - 40% faster would equate to 18 minutes of mow time instead of down to 12 minutes.

    Two questions for you that you didn't touch on in the video:
    The flippy floppy debris guard, what have you done with that? In two months of fairly light commercial use, I've already gone through two. About ready to take it off and leave it off.
    Then for cleaning, by far the biggest pain in the ass area for me, is in the nooks and crannies inside of the rear height depths..do you just let those clippings build up?

After a year of commercial use with around 25 hours a week of mowing , your going 1250 hours between oil changes ? I guess that is a testament to the ruggedness of these engines but I would recommend a more frequent maintenance schedule . Also it is important to change the oil after the first 5 hours of initial run time to clear out the break in chat . Very informative video but for these items.

      These mowers don't work well with thick wet grass. You need to maintain the grass, letting it grow too tall causes the mower to bog down.

    My 2014 model toro timemaster has been nothing but problems. Vapor locks every 15 mins. Have to spray carb and fuel lines with cold water to get it to restart. No ethanol fuel ever.

      Check the engine cooling fan ?
      Over heating could be from mice nest also, removing cover for inspection 😊
