      Ah I concur! I’m quite a Zealot so I find most of my foul language comes in when my LORD is blasphemed openly by others. Then my tongue becomes sharp as a double edged sword. I ask the Holy Spirit to immediately convict me-as sometimes my speech is so quick, I say it before the thought has even fully formed in my mind. We are not alone sisters, let the LORD bind our tongues for his GLORY! Amen and Shalom to all! 🙏✝️❤️

      FEEDING on the Word is transformative. Psalm 18.30 As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
      Also, focussing on his names in scripture. Proverbs 18.10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower. The righteous runs into it and is safe. (Margin note = "set on high") (NASB: Lockman)

      It's important to note that it's not the yoga pants that are the problem, it's what the yoga pants reveal. I've seen women look incredibly modest in yoga pants when they have a 3/4 length cardigan overtop. I've ALSO seen women in maxi dresses that were SO immodest. In one case, the dress was not tight or see-through, but, she had an ample "caboose", so as she moved, I could see everything jiggle. This was in church. I might be quite conservative in this, but I think we need to go back to cotton slips under our summer dresses.

      I also had this conviction a few months back.. I decided if o was going to wear them(I like them because I find them more comfortable then jeans any day) I must only were them with a long loose fitting shirt so that my butt is covered and my shape isn’t complete standing out. Or I’ll use a loose t or something that might not be super long but I’ll wear a cardigan to cover more.

    I went to a women’s Christian conferences that made you feel you needed the latest book, cd, etc, etc to be a part of the “sisterhood”. It just didn’t sit right with me at the time and I didn’t buy into it. So we need to be careful even with things that have a “Christian” label.

      I have never felt compelled to purchase a book, a video, a tee shirt at a women’s conference . Some women enjoy those things, I don’t. I’m fine with speakers selling their books . Why should they not? Billy Graham sold his, Charles Stanley sold his.

    • @exodusmass4575

      @@sharondoan1447please research Billy Graham and other major Christian authors. Billy Graham did not write most of his books, but had a ghost writer. One of which was a closet homosexual Mel White. So promoting a book as your own, while deceiving the public is wrong.

    • @Chrissy-ot2hi
      @Chrissy-ot2hi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@sharondoan1447 it wasn’t the books etc that I felt uncomfortable with but rather the feeling I got that “I needed to be in the sisterhood or I might miss out on something”. I appreciated and enjoyed the messages to be honest and did buy the book of one of the speakers. I never did go again and the mega church that ran the conferences has been involved in very publicised scandals so the conferences don’t run anymore. Perhaps that speaks for itself and I don’t rejoice in that but feel deeply saddened as it turns people away from God, for whom the whole message is supposed to be about.

      It's true because we shouldn't be blaming other people of how they perceive US based on how we dress. If you're dressing half naked for the world to see and God forbid even the kids then it's just basically saying that we don't have any self-respect, and that they need constant validation even if it's the wrong type to feel good. I mean I don't want to be dressed up like the 1800s but at least cover up and not wearing something that is way too form-fitting.

But if you're more in a "rut" because you don't like wearing yoga pants, or feel like you have nothing nice or that you like to wear, then I get that too. I feel like SO many women are in "clothing ruts" after having babies. Doing a capsule wardrobe intentionally was so helpful for me. I could pick out a "uniform" to wear to work or things for home, and in general not worry about my wardrobe for the next few months. But after seeing this, I'm feel so excited to learn more and have others perspectives about this in a biblical context. The Word is my guiding light. I want to respect Jesus. I'm certainly not perfect at all and need lots of help. This is such a breath of fresh air. I don't feel crazy anymore. I totally agree. I felt like the nose piercing was a slap in the face and hypocritical. She gives one scripture below which would seem to justify her wearing a nose piercing, but there are plenty more that do not. Exodus 21:6 then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life. It should be noted that context is important. What does a nose piercing symbolize today? Certainly not what was indicated in Ezekiel 11-16. A nose piercing in our culture, represents rebelliousness and non-conformity. And this is how she portrays herself in general in seeking to correct others, but not following that rule herself. Pretty narcissistic in my opinion. We are told to avoid even the APPEARANCE of EVIL by our actions, that it could be misinterpreted by others. 1 Thess 5:22 “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” She failed the test on this one. And walking around in slovenly t-shirt and sweater? Where's the dress? We are not to dress like men.

    I think my little sister would like your job. On Sunday after church during a heatwave in Australia, I sat in the car and hiked my long skirt up to my thighs to cool down in the air-con. She told me, "COVER YOUR LEGS!" When it was just us in the car. She said it was rude of me to make her look at "that." I'm still hurt by it, like she was my strict grandmother.
    She used to be my best friend, but since reading the puritans for a year, she's so *grave* and stuck-up on Christian topics. I have to watch what I say, because she'll have a go at me, if it "doesn't sound very spiritual." Mum explained to her that I was hurt, and at first she defended her behaviour, but when she couldn't say what sin I'd committed, she realised it was just something she doesn't like, so she came to me and apologised, which was so nice. She's trying so hard to be gracious that she can seem fake-nice a lot of the time, but at least she's trying.
      She went to our church's Bible study this week and just told me today how she asked what everyone is reading. Not one of them is reading a Christian book, which she was not gracious about. I think when we're new and learning, we're so eager for others to share our zeal. The disappointment of them not being as zealous must come off as being judgemental.
      I'm trying really hard to be gracious, as there was a time she was very anti-Christian, mocking us, so I'm very thankful she's saved.

    I'm so glad I found this video. I'm recuperating from a total hip replacement surgery I had last Wednesday and verbally coaching my young daughter in getting ready for school. I'm glad I am following the five things you have mentioned on this video. Number 5, I utilise prayer when I'm in the car on my busy runs as a mum. I have the Bible on audible yet I do find it difficult to locate a particular passage I want to reflect on, yet it's a way of utilising the WORD and keeping my deal with our great and good Father God. I do not have a congregation or a group of Christian women and haven't for over 2 decades since I have been living in an isolated area in company that hasn't been the most positive and uplifting. Sometimes even the negative Christian groups are the ones you are most definitely allowed to move away from. The last I went to church I left feeling very pulled down and not uplifted by someone who was extremely bossy and judgemental. I have not returned. I love using my God given skills to make my own clothes and to make pretty but practical outfits that are modest yet current.

    Thats true :) im wearing especially summertime sport/jogging pants maybe someone sees them as yoga pants. i tried to be very carefull when bought those, there were no else available at that time when bought those and dont really want spend much time to buy clothes, and then i try to cover with long shirts my waterline or with skirt :) i even try to cover my front with scarf almost always :) because dont really want to be any temptation to anyone. but how we dress can be a issue of how much money do we have to spend clothes, so i try to avoid judge people how they dress and try to focus more whats inside rather then outside :) Bless you! :)

    I think a lot of women wear yoga pants not show off assets but because we have fallen into the rut of being “comfortable “ and not feeling confidant, or justified to embrace our femininity . That can also take time and mentorship to get a better plan than Yoga pants going ….just something I recognized in myself

    Good morning, thank u for this message ❤ the world wants us to stay focused on the worldly things that take us away from our Father. I’m relatively new with my walk in Christ and it’s fruitful to hear your words of wisdom, I like how you framed up spending money like a drunkard it gave me a visual lol… that was one of the issues I felt the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart ♥️ to resolve and while I have tightened up my spending, some of my Christian friends might not be so pleased… I’m making egg salad sandwiches and cut veggies and fruits for our prayer group now and not costly baked goods… while they may call it penny pinching it makes me feel like I’m doing the right thing by not spend spend spending. Thank you again for your message and time. May our Father bless you and your family for your fruitful efforts in His kingdom

    I love my wife. She is so modest in how she dresses. She never wears tight fitting clothes, or clothes that accentuate her body in public. She doesn't wear makeup or fancy jewelry. Out of the rare times when I've told her she needs to change what she is wearing, she has done it out of submission and love. More women need to be like her.

I've also only been listening to Christian music now, thanks to discovering Ann Wilson. I have definitely been wanting a new, more feminine wordrobe of cotton and linen, to the point that im always online shopping, instead of being patient and thrift shopping, or learning to sew my own clothes, im in too much of a hurry to look a certain way. I'm a minimalist, but I still have been coveting certain things, and now im seeing that I need to be content and patient. I am able to dress modestly with what i have now. It may not look perfect, but I'm grateful for the clothes and life I have. ❤

I truly want to be mentored and encouraged directly and intimately through a reliable and mature mentor while being accompanied by a faithful and love-filled community. This is so true and many don’t want to touch the topic. We’re not to dress to encourage men to lust/sin either. I found myself in yoga pants working outside, had a big hoodie on, I shed the hoodie, then ended up standing in line at Walmart. It then hit me, I felt so inappropriate as I could feel the men just looking at my bottom. Ladies she is right and please remember, when we’re at home with our husbands, this is when and where we can dress in a flirty, provocative way. Our husband is the only man that should see us like this. That brings me to my next point, dress like a “hussy” for your man sometimes (at home). Maybe in the yard doing work, maybe when no one else is home, dress cute and flirt. He will probably love it, if he knows it’s just for him. FYI keep something close by, in case unexpected guests pop in lol. We are to represent ourselves correct, when in doubt, ask God to guide you. If you have to question it, then it’s probably not acceptable. Trust me ladies, I’ve battled with this especially living in the south where summer is at least 5 months of over 90 degrees, but not in public! (Not anymore)

Consumerism got me and that has been a struggle and a prayer for a while. I am a crafter that likes to use all the pretty paper and laces. I'm not going to come here again. It's obvious that there are modesty problems, which are something we need to all take seriously. But when we pretend thst our own qualms and uneasy feelings about things are the Holy Spirit convicting someone else, we seriously err. We need to also have deep conviction about what boils down to pretending that a word from us equates the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Women need to gently help in cases where the problem is substantive, but try not to become caught up in just picking away at other women (or men, for that matter) until the others are "perfect" representations of ourselves. That is very oppressive, and our freedom as Chistians gets completely lost. We need to take the modesty issues seriously. but we need to take the warnings against legalism seriously, too.

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome

    • @lindajohnson4204
      @lindajohnson4204 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@HeavenlyMindedHome Yeah, and common sense is important. But its so easy for us to start saying "you know that the Holy Spirut says you cant wear pants", or "you know thst the Holy Spirit says no piercings, therefore no earrings", and so on. Once that gets started, nobody's saying "you know, the Holy Spirit isn't teaching legalism", and it is really discouraging and heartbreaking, really. Legalists routinely damn non-legalists, which should never be, from people, born again by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus. So its really hard to say anythin, yet not saying anything is so troubling. There are so many ugly pictures from the past, when the haightiest biggest accusers won the day, but, of course, lost the war. There has git to be a time that we are cobtent that Jesus woll win His war, and let all the rest be imperfect until we see Him. Because it will be. That doesn't mean no admonitions about clothing, etc, but lets at least realize that we look at what we see through biases that are not the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Clarifying the two is really important.

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome
      @HeavenlyMindedHome  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@HeavenlyMindedHome In the comments, some have said those things. I had better just stay away, because legalism seriously messes with my mind. And I only got the notice in my feed because I have seen other videos of yours that I thought were very helpful, so I'm not trying to condemn you, or say that you are a strict legalist. Still, legalism creeps in, and I have probably more trouble with it than a lot of people. At this very momebt, Im trying to decide whether to answrr a comlnnent on as nother video in ehich the man says thst if anyone has trouble with porn, he doubts that they could be saved, because a Christian would have nothing to do with it. And he asserted that the one lost sheep was not saved until Jesus found him, but that's not what the Bible said: a man owned 100 sheep and one was lost, and he left the 99 to go and find the one that was lost. No one should have a problem with porn, but he has a hardh, loveless attitude, and one could conclude that anyone who allows himself to become like that must have never been saved. I dont know if he's saved or not. I probably ought to leave his attitude alone, though.
      Another young woman's page had a following of women of her generation. I went there because of another issue she had spoken on. With these women, it was all about the headwrap. There was absolutely no excuse for not covering our heads with a scarf. On a day requiring a different look, those scarves can be converted into African style headwraps and turbans, snd they were talking about how attractively they rocked those headwraps. One stood up (vetbally), and declsred that many women have no excuse for not being more attractive for men, and that some women were just lazy or they could do much better than they do. These women were full of pride about their spiritual headwraps and superior looks., which they even called "modesty", but there wasn't anything particularly modest about saying 'shame on you ugly women; you ought to work harder to look like us!' Yet they were condemning any woman who didn't wear some headwrap, and they had it all boiled down into legalistic necessity, including the uphill battle of the ugly woman to look better (like they did!). I remember talking to a young woman in "Christ Is the Answer", in about 1972 or 1973. She insisted that, if I was restored in faith, I needed to now convert all my jeans to nifty long jeans skirts, like she had, along with a calico blouse and scarf headwrap. I think I had two pairs of pants, one a half-decent pair of cheap jeans. And I was not about to knuckle under to her legalism to copy her, when I didnt have this conviction of God, myself. I had enough sad experience with the harm of Church of Christ legalism, (my grandparents' church, a cult in the eyes of many), and faced a few years of charismatic and pentecostal legalism, juxtaposed against thr thibgs that are really wrong thrre, ehich they pay no sttention to. With all this error, it is hard to see that there is anything but error, althoughwe know thats not true. But very few Christians take it seriously as a problem. They tend to accuse the one troubled by it of trying to get by with sin, while there are others who insist that any legalism at all means that they are relying on a false gospel. When it all threatens to cave in on you, it helps to remember that Jesus's burden is light, unlike these burdens out of religion. But you can see that I'm best off away from legalism. It bothers me deeply.

There is so many females dressing like they are going to the gym and also they dress like if they are going to a club with these tight dresses, tight jeans showing everything . We have small children in church and also teenagers and don't forget also men that are trying to get closer to God and these women are just trying to get attention in the wrong place. I understand completely. This is not the way God wants to see us dressed at church. Amen! Sometimes I get ready to leave the house and my husband will tell me that my shirt is too tight. I do stop and look in the mirror and access. Sometimes I completely agree with him as a Christian woman and wife.... however sometimes I tell him "this is so oversized on me that it honestly could not be more conservative". I think it's sweet that he finds me attractive even when I am wearing a top a size or 2 too large...but there is a point of reality that I AM very conservative and why does he disagree??? It confuses me sometimes. I have asked him to explain...he says "that top is way too tight" ...I then grab all the extra material on the top to prove that it is the opposite of tight??? I am proud to go out in the world representing the conservative Christian dress so it bothers me if /when he makes comments like that. I wear a uniform to work daily and I am not supposed to wear anything to cover my company logo....yet I wear a jacket or vest daily because the logo placement is near my chest and I cover that part of my body and pray my company doesn't fire me .... I mention this for reference as to the lengths I go to in order to cover up and be conservative in public.

    Before and after becoming a Christian, I have always been hard/harsh in all sorts of ways, it comes so naturally to me, but I would like a change.... Please pray for me. Thank you.

    In all humbleness I ask, since you are so spot on with all these issues, why you have a nose piercing???

      There’s several reasons, but simplest, does it glorify God , or worn to magnify you? Just as was mentioned about the yoga pants and tight jeans worn “because you like how your behind looks in them, “ etc.. it’s just something to consider… why? And does this glorify my Lord? It’s adornment to be seen of man.. and accepted of man .. as cool and hip…

      God himself said: ”I gave you lovely jewelry, bracelets, beautiful necklaces, a ring for your nose, earrings for your ears, and a lovely crown for your head. And so you were adorned with gold and silver. Your clothes were made of fine linen and costly fabric and were beautifully embroidered. You ate the finest foods-choice flour, honey, and olive oil-and became more beautiful than ever. You looked like a queen, and so you were!“

    I have a question for you regarding yoga pants. For most of my adult life I have tried to dress modest. I do wear leggings out. It is always under a long top or under a dress. For that matter my shirts cover my rear no matter what kind of pants I am wearing. What are your feelings on leggings being worn in this manner?

      I do the same! Completely modest to wear something long over leggings, yoga pants…..

    On spending and debt: if we are using credit to finance our daily needs or even our lifestyle, it seems to me that it's telling God that His provision is not sufficient.

    If you spend time with the Lord, all these these will right themselves🌸

    I think having more is what ppl use for temporary happiness. Then they are on to the next thing for happiness.

    Ouch.. Ouch….and OUCH.. You have touched on things I’ve asked the Lord to help me with. Contentment, my mouth, spending money on plants, etc. I got rid of leggings and tank tops from since they are not modest.

    Man I've been hearing about those cups. It's almost like we're back in covid except toilet paper therefore a cup that we can get pretty much anywhere just without the brand name. Also dressing modest is also a good thing as well. Not just for protection of the wrong type of attention but also having respect for yourself and not having your body displayed half-naked for the world to see. Also specially if you're in a family friendly restaurant where a bunch of little kids could see. We need to think about others around us and as well as God. To an extent our appearance does matter. I feel a strong conviction when something shows my breasts too much and I also look out that my pants aren't too tight fitting. A matter of fact I'm trying to wear more dresses and skirts that are past my knees and preferably reaches the mid of my calves and cover up my chest.

    As a GOD FEARING woman, I find myself often wondering where are my fellow sisters at? I can’t seem to find one anywhere around me. Even in Church, where some of the ‘Godly women’ can be the cruelest of all. Church is a fashion show to them. I’m not cut off from engaging in conversation…but the girls I once called ‘friends’ now are middle aged women who desperately want to look 22 again. The LORD removed them from my life, glory to YAHWEH! However, I would love to have a good Christian girl-friend who is like minded. I hold out hope I will just find a bible study buddy, where we can have a cup of coffee and talk about Jesus all day. If it is YESHUAS will, let it be done. Love you sisters in Christ! 🙏✝️❤️

    I grew up to always wear a slip under a dress; have not worn dresses in years here in PNW. Do women still wear slips? I sure hope so!!!
