I used to feel like my husband and I were "unequally yoked". In other words, I felt spiritually superior to him. I wanted him to lead, but I had no concept of submission. I felt like he had to be good enough first, then I would be willing to submit. As it turns out, most of what I thought I knew about scripture was wrong. I grew up in an unbiblical church. God opened my eyes to all of that and over the last few years, we've been studying the Bible and growing together in our God-given roles.

Yep! I can relate. When Christ took ahold of me and I started reading my Bible my husband told me this was going to be the end of our relationship. And after a few years he became a follower of Christ. And now 8 years later we both live everyday for the Lord. Greatest blessing ever. Raising our 3 boys to love Jesus! Thank you

It's so wild that a person will want a divorce bc you are trying to grow towards Christ and read your Bible. It's so frustrating. Prayer is key.

We´ve had a life changing few months and a lot of tough things happening and in the middle of all this chaos my husband got saved! It´s a miracle. He started reading the bible without my knowledge and came to me and asked me to teach him to pray. I was chocked to say the least. Now we are finally on the same page and we can share our faith and that is the best feeling ever. Thank you Jesus!

I have gone thru from A-Z just as the wonderful woman talks about in the video. Had small breakthrough last month, back to rejection. I can't fathom him dieing in his sins! This is in God's hands. I'm so sorry he's suffering with cancer, that must be so hard on you, too. This is 💯 on point! After giving my heart to Christ I went through something very similar as my husband became so angry that I was changing so much as I grew in Christ. I started standing my ground in love and refusing to participate in ungodly things and I started to show him even more love when he would say mean awful things. As I set a Christ like example in my home and turned to prayer and studying Gods word and meditating on it day and night I started to see a big change in my marriage. God is truly faithful and tho my husband isn’t serving Christ yet he is very very close and even went to church with me to see me get baptized and now respects my prayer time as I kneel every night at my bedside and my husband has even now started asking questions about the Bible and I finally had an opportunity to open my Bible and show him how to read it ( he didn’t know what the books and chapters and verses worked in reading it. He’s brand new to this and I can see The Holy Spirit directing him and softening his heart). I don’t do anything except let Gods light shine brightly from within me and pray diligently for both my husband and my daughters salvation. Both of whom are showing signs of God working in their hearts. God is so Good!✝️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I used to think was as the only one that was going through this. I said to myself before watching this that I would do whatever advice you give. So now I am equipped. I became a born again believer 4 years ago and my husband is still not there. In fact, he doesn't even go to church at all. I even stopped and almost lost hope. And then I came across this video. It is like I had TH-cam for this video only. Thank you. This is incredible. You have to have gone through this or be going through this to understand just how difficult it is. But God.

I literally have to pause just to sob. Finally. Finally. Someone who has walked through this and gets it. I’ve only been married a year (together for 5) and he’s in his “rebellion”. He didn’t grow up in the church and neither did I but now more than ever he is resisting anything Jesus related. This spoke so clearly to my spirit and I feel such comfort. Letting go is so freeing. Thank you for sharing your testimony, God really did speak through you to me. Please pray for me to go back to my first love Jesus and keep my eyes on Him no matter how hard it gets. Pray for him and his family to experience the One who changes everyone He touches. Thank you 🤍

Im slowly learning how to be Biblical wife and my husband and I have never been happier. He is growing into his leader role so well. He still doesnt come with me to church even though I go every Sunday. He recently told me that with everything going on in the political climate and seeing how insane everyone has gotten, he is starting to believe that the Bible is true and Christianity is the worlds truest religion. Hes coming around, all I can do is pray and let the Lord shine through me without words.

Hey sis, I just wanted to share that THE BOOK that finally gave me practical insight on Biblical Submission (I read a lot of them) is Created to be his helpmeet by Debbie Pearl. That book is a gem, and every bit of progress I’ve seen in my marriage I credit to her advice. It is also a very hopeful book showing many testimonies of women who “won their husbands” as Peter describes. ❤️

I have been married to an angry unsaved man now for 33 years. I have been saved for 37 years. As a typical woman I married him thinking “I can change him”. I have paid the price for over 3 decades now. Not going to lie, it been horrible. I would never ever do it over again. My 3 adult children are my saving grace. Only one has been born again. They were raised in church but two want nothing to do with God. All 3 children think I am crazy for staying in the marriage. All their friends parents (including “Christian’s “) are divorced. They always tell me “just leave him mom”. I am not a hero to them 🤷‍♀️. I have tried everything but finally handed him over to God about 15 years ago. He is Gods problem. I pray for his salvation, even though I am so weary and discouraged. I don’t even feel like it at this point but, I do. I have come to the realization that not every person will be saved. Yea okay, Gods got this but don’t lead people on with that catch phrase allowing them to think it going to happen. It may happen on his death bed but as of now it’s been 35 years of hardship for me. I’m not sugarcoating this. My husband is getting worse, as time is getting crazier, my husband is getting more and more agitated and angry. I have watched his whole face/countenance change over the years. He is not physically harming me but he mentally and verbally abused me. I’m not looking for sympathy, I made a terrible decision 33 years ago, I am definitely paying the price. I am such a joyful and thankful person and I love to help people and animals in need. I do it outside of the perimeters of my marriage. That’s my story, don’t give people false hope. Do not marry someone who is not saved!! Don’t do it!! You will regret it 😢

It is interesting, I think, how serious the approval of a potential spouse was and the involvement of the family…. Now we’ve largely done away with that and testimonies like this are the norm. I agree with you, I was born again 1 year ago and married my fiancé who is not born again. We were together when I was born again and went through a lot of trials before the Lord saved me. A great conviction to stop having sex outside marriage set in about a week after my new birth. Before Jesus, I was jealous, manipulative, full of anger and my husband was afraid to marry me, which I can understand. He soon saw that I wasn't the same person he once knew and wanted to marry me. He waited 2 months before the wedding without sexual relations, and it was my pastor at the time who married us. I don't come from a Christian background, in fact I'm the only Christian in my family. It's very difficult because I feel misunderstood by the people I love around me. I don't recommend anyone to marry an unbeliever because it's very difficult to live with someone who doesn't know Jesus. In spite of everything, the Lord is gracious and I see the blessings of marriage in many ways. I have repented of having made a bad choice of husband. My husband is very open to the Gospel and lets me live my faith completely. He has difficulty believing that the Lord can love him because he feels dirty. he's not sure yet. I pray every day for his salvation and I ask the Lord for wisdom to help me love him as he loves me. I pray for you my sister 🙏🏻

Thank you for warning others not to marry an unbeliever. 39 years for me of living with an angry unloving unbeliever. God may save him, or He may not. Do what Scripture says and don’t be yoked with unbeliever! The consequences of my sin have hurt more than just me. I have regretted my foolish sinful desperate choice every day for all these years. Just because I pray for his salvation with depth and earnestness and have tried long and hard to love him in word and actions, does not mean the Lord will save him. I have to let go of hope that He will. He knows best. He is God. His love is real and unchanging and everlasting. Blessed be the Name of the LORD.

      1 Corinthians 7
13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

God hates divorce because of the pain that it causes everyone. Not that He doesn't understand that sometimes you have to leave. My husband was a Christian but had an anger and lust problem. He was afraid to tell me how far gone he was. He was even ogling, trying to get with other women early on. It was devastating. I believe that I should have divorced him a long time ago. Because I believe that it would have made our lives much more peaceful.

I've been a believer in Jesus Christ since 1986. Everyone has their own spiritual journey that they are on. My wife of 28 years left me and my children after using the "I don't see any real spiritual fruit in your life..." argument to allege that I wasn't in fact a true follower of Christ and she believed she had to leave in order to not be unequally yoked. At the time my grown children even took her side. 16 months later and she's an "out and proud" lesbian who dates women. But it's too late. My life and all that I worked to establish as a family is destroyed. Be very careful about how you "observe" spiritual fruit in other people's lives. You don't know as much as you think you do when you judge a person using that spiritual fruit metric.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. My husband is a true non-believer, calls himself an atheist now, but I’m not leaving him and we met and married in church. It’s a difficult situation but I’m not even thinking of that bc I love him and our family. Your wife had other plans that had nothing to do with your spirituality. I just want to encourage you that your life is not destroyed. Don’t give up. Walk by faith and trust God that everything works out for your good. You can continue to build your family, even without your beloved wife. Turn that energy to continue nurturing your children and build the trust and loving relationship with them. I know you are hurting right now but you will get through it a stronger person and father for yourself and children. I will be praying for your strength and encouragement from the Lord.

Dude just because your ex was gaslighting you doesn’t mean spiritual fruit isn’t a real thing. You probably do have spiritual fruit but she being wicked wanted to get one last strike at you before she left and justify herself. She’s crazy and I had a friend like that also a “christian” but left her boyfriend of years to date women. The only time he prayed daily, on his knees was when i wanted a divorce. I was literally checked out. God opened my eyes and brought me out of my hopeless mindset. Now, all i can think is why does it take a tramatic event for him to seek the Lord. I NEED a leader. I fear what God may allow to get his attention again. Everything you describe is my marriage. He professes to be a Christian, but no fruit. 15 yrs of trying different things, ways, prayers and to be honest, it just keeps getting worse. Now the main arguments are about him wanting the kids and I to partake in things that are not godly, that are very worldly (sometimes demonic). We say “no thank you” and he gets very angry. I’ve just been trying to keep the peace when he is home; sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s very exhausting. I’ve been praying for so long for a change in my husband’s heart, for him to submit to the Lord and follow Christ with his whole heart. I won’t give up praying for him. God is good, no matter my circumstances. He is faithful and always provides my needs. Prayers from any of the ladies here would be most appreciated! Thank you for this video! Helps me to know I’m not alone. ❤️ God bless

Such wisdom because it is the word of God. It might be good to remind the ladies of this sometimes. More broken homes could be prevented. We don’t always get instant answers to prayers. We have to do our part of putting God first and grow in our own maturity in Him. Thank you.

There is this Christian movie that is like C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. This movie is called Nefarious which is about a demon possessed death row inmate that is having a psychological evaluation from an atheist. The demon in the prisoner brags about how the atheist has fallen for his schemes. This might wake your husband up.

Sometimes he will play media that is very awful and seems demonic for sure ..and I don't like it in front of the kids. Let alone asking them to engage...would be infuriating. But letting rage take the wheel isn't ok I know. Hard situation. Keep strong.

Married for 2 years with a 5 month old beautiful son and my husband recently shared with me that he no longer believes in God, Jesus and the Bible. I have cried several times and feel so lust as I tried discussing this with him. After reading 1Peter3 and listening to you and others and a completely leaving it in God’s hands and trusting HIM with everything, I feel some peace and I will love and submit to my husband and work on myself to be that vessel that the lord will use. Thank you for your prayers for me and other women experiencing this.

I love your story! This is so encouraging and reaffirming the things God has been showing me as well. I have a long story - my husband and I used to lead worship and prayer nights and soon after getting married- he walked away from everything and I felt like “wait! This isn’t what I signed up for?!” But God has had an amazing plan! It’s been 11 years and we are still a work in progress but suddenly he’s been coming to church. There is SO much to the story but there’s been a break through. So if you are in the thick of this- don’t give up! I SO relate to this story!
    Trust the Lord.
Two things God really showed me was to share an venerable heart to my husband and submit to my husband (out of worship to the Lord) and pray! Our Lord is trustworthy and good!

And I know he’s right… I can’t change him but I know the One who can yet I continue to be the one trying! I know I need to surrender him over to the Lord once and for all! It’s just so hard when we are clearly on two different paths! He’s living for the world and I am trying to die to self and live for what’s to come! I'm dating a wonderful kind man that treats me with such care and kindness, but he doesn't believe in Christ or God. He truly cares for others and is highly considerate. I just want to ask, is the pain of him not sharing your beliefs, worth the good parts? Lots of other comments mentioned abusive non-believers, but what if they are kind and loving, and willing to wait for marriage and respect your belief? Is it worth it? I see so many people lose out of all of their fertile years waiting for someone. And others who seemingly did everything right only to have their spouse lose belief and leave them.

I want to thank you for this video. I've had a relationship with Christ since age 16. I'm now 27. I graduated from a Bible college with a Bible degree. I know what the Word says and I know who Christ is. It's safe to say that I "know" what I'm supposed to be doing as a wife to help bring my husband to Christ. But my emotions and need for control rule over all else. I've recently started in this journey of giving God the controls and simply trusting in Him that He will bring my husband truly to His side. I'm by no means great at this yet - being the wife and mother God's called me to be - I fail almost daily. This requires a new level of focus and submission to Christ than I've ever had before. I'm glad to say that I'm not trying like I used to... instead I'm learning to fully trust Him. Again thank you for this video; it's the encouragement I needed to hear today to keep me fueled for this journey, this gift of marriage God has given us.

I am currently going thru a similar situation with an unbelieving husband. Tried it all nagging, complaining, manipulating to no effect. i began ny walk with Lord our relationship went downhill. He is a non believer and ever since i began my walk with Lord, it has become very difficult. I gave surrendered to the Lord as I understand only Jesus can soften a hardened heart. i have immeresed myself in hearing the wird, reading the Bible and trying my best to be a light and reflect Christ like character. God is faithful and nothing is too hard for him. Trusting him to draw my husband out of the darkness into His light...thanks for sharing..greatly encouraged..God Bless

I needed to hear this! Great reminder to surrender my husband to the Lord, stand up lovingly for what is right in God's eyes and continuing to seek the Lord. By the Spirit, my husband wil come to Christ!

Everything you shared is true! It took my husband 25 years to come the point of professing to be a Christian! But guess what? After another 25 years he is not showing fruit or growing! But I came to the point of not listening with “his” ears and telling God “oh, Lord! He so needs to hear this! Now I listen with my own ears! I focus on my spiritual growth! Being intimate with my Lord and my obedience is what Jesus wants from me right now and my efforts to live a Christlike life may impact my husband someday. Thank you for your teaching, Heidi! I too, had to learn by myself but God is faithful and I am still hopeful!

Wow this is what I do ... Listening with" his" ears, always searching for something to lead him to Christ. Thank you for the conviction, that I need to stop doing that and listen with my own ears and focus on my own relationship with Christ.

I needed this video. Thank you so much. I am just starting to read the Bible and taking our child to church. It is so awkward to be there without….and with my mother in law 😂 I needed to be reminded to focus on myself.

Okay I just had I don’t know what you caught like an Epiphany moment not even joking. I have been leaning more towards the Bible and God and etc. trying to learn how to pray the whole 9 yards because I always consider myself a Christian but you know like a warm water Christian, like nothing serious at all never took it serious. Last night I didn’t fall this girl on TikTok and she’s just recently had this awakening. I guess you could say to Christ and at first I thought it was kind of silly. Then I started watching her stuff and it was like I was meant to be watching it, weirdest feeling in the world. Last night video popped up from her TikTok talking about Peter 3 verse 1-2. So I listen to the video because my husbands not necessarily making the smartest choices or acting in the best way. Kind of how you were describing your husband so I seen her TikTok and it kind of sparked the interest so I’m now in here actually Bible journaling right now in first Peter, listening to your video in the background and then you just said the same Bible verse that she said last night. That was like a hit in the face moment, because what is the coincidence that I would run into both of you women referencing the same verse in less than 12 hours. God is speaking to me and I’ve been praying about it a lot lately. I have goosebumps right now.. all I can say is wow I am totally mind blown. 17:27

This is one of the best encouraging videos I've come across because I was locked in as soon as I realized my story is almost identical, yet Im still trying to hang in there til the breakthrough with my husband. Thank you for sharing because I scroll past videos of couples that didn't experience these hardships.

As a single mom with adhd, I get upset with myself when I don’t keep up. I make things harder for myself honestly when I don’t. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed. Thank you for making videos like this. None of us can keep it together every minute of the day. I pray that God helps us all get through this life and gives us the strength to have discipline and grace.

Thank you for such a down to earth chat. When you finally disclosed what changes you made in your own life and surrendered your husband to God I knew why I was listening to your video out of any that I could have clicked on. I’ve had the worst day feeling overwhelmed and have cried and prayed but to be honest have felt so abandoned. My husband and I have been together 4 years. I was widowed 7 years ago and his marriage ended a similar amount of time ago. Both with scars from the past we took quite a while to get married and have now been married about 6 weeks. He’s a wonderful, gentle, patient …. atheist. You video was confirmation to what God’s been trying to gently say to me for a while now “spend good quality time with me”. Thank you again.

what about when he tells me to not go to church and “be normal keep your faith for yourself”
But at the other side he drives me to church when I need that. Also we stop having sex until marriage,we are 8 years together and engaged

My dear sister, please, PLEASE heed my advice. If this man is an unbeliever and you are not yet married, DON’T MARRY HIM. If you choose to disregard God’s command to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, as I foolishly did, you will suffer the consequences. Yes, there are some women whose husbands eventually come to faith. There are also many whose husbands do not. Regardless, if you disobey God in this area you are signing yourself up for a long, hard road and much suffering. I’m 22 years in and it has been so hard. Don’t do it! God’s commands are for your benefit. Be wise and obey, however hard that may be.

Wow this is my first time here hearing from you.. I stumbled across your video by accident honestly or maybe it was God‘s will for me to be here.. my husband and I have been married for at least two years now and our marriage is very rocky a lot of arguments over our spiritual life…he is a man who was born and raised in church, but does not live the lifestyle and now after seeing this video I can humbly say that I haven’t been living the best lifestyle myself.. we’ve gotten to a point where we’ve both thought about divorcing because I’m trying to grow more spiritually and he’s not interested whatsoever .. there are things about me that is shifting and changing and he doesn’t like that. I spend more time in the word and declining old activities please keep us in prayer because I want to fight for our marriage, but most importantly I want to win my unbeliever husband back to Christ.. thank you for opening my eyes on how to do this by letting go and fixing myself to live a righteous lifestyle..
