Great Job.....You have more patience than I would have for that kind of a job. Well done!
Thank you! 😊
Wow! your hands are light, you were careful and each step of process was very neatly done with easy-to-understand explanation. It was so simple and very exciting way of changing the lens of the Insta 360 camera. I learnt and enjoyed. You are really great !Judith !! Now with the help of your video I am sure, I can repair mine one.
Thank you very much. I am happy that my video will help you repare yours. Have a great day!
Im impressed. Going to save this video for future reference. Good job.
Thanks! Glad it might be helpful! And don't forget, you do not need to remove the casing!
Nice vidéo thank’s
You're welcome!
Oh my stars ! I was nervous watching you ! Well done ! You go girl ! Saved yourself money as well ! Thank you for uploading ! Love from Beautiful Ballarat x
Thanks Tammy! Really happy it worked cause I enjoy that camera!
Very cool, Judith! Well done for even attempting this, much less making it work!
Thanks Brian! Glad I was able to fix it. I Iove that camera!
You rock!!!! Thanks a lot for doing this video! My lens is also cracked and watch you gave me the confidence to make it on my x3!!!
Thanks 😊 Althougt it is doable. If you have the money and the time, send it to the company, yours must be on it's warranty. And this will void it.
@@LivingLifewithJudith Unfortunately, Sending it to the company is not an option for me. I'm in Brazil and it would cost almost the amount as a new camera.
I understand. I had the same problem... Good luck with the swap!
Hi. Once it is no waterproof anymore i think only a pinch of glue here and there will just do it.
You ll never know when you have to replace the lense again.
For a non professional i would say it did a good work there.
Congratulations.
Thank you for this amazing DIY video. Carlos M.
Thank you! 😊 I thought about putting some cocking glue where the 2 casings meet... but I'm not sure if I would have the gutts to try it underwater. Lol
Very useful video
Thanks!
Thanks !! ❤❤❤
You are welcome
where u bought the new lens? u had a great patience in doing that delicate DIY job!
Thank you! 😊 I bought the lens on AliExpress.
@@LivingLifewithJudith tnx friend.
thanks for sharing did you see the reference of the image sensor ?
You're welcome. I am not sure to understand your question... I didn't open the camera, so I didn't see any hardware, and I didn't touch or remove the actual lens, only the lens cover. And I didn't see any difference from before and after in the image quality.
I'm also preparing to change the lens. Your video helped me too much. I tried to get rid of the lens scratch, but it wasn't as easy as I thought. So I'm going to change the lens this time.
I was able to buff one lens, but the other one, the scratch was to deep. Glad my vid helped. Remember, you don't need to remove the top! Good luck
@@LivingLifewithJudith you mean if i change lens, no need remove top cover right?
Exactly
@@LivingLifewithJudith OK thanks 😊
thanks for the video! Is it necessary to remove the cover to change the lens?
You're welcome. No, you don't need to remove the cover. I advise not too in the video. Less work for you ;)
@@LivingLifewithJudith ty!
You're welcome!
Hi Judith your video help me a lot! I could remove the lens without any damage ob the front cover! But to replace the lens is obligatory to remove this front cover once the bevel on it will keep the lens in place!
Glad it was helful! Thanks for your input!
Nice job. The only thing I have seen differently is to NOT use superglue and just snap it in place. Supposedly the glue can emit gasses that mess up the inside of the new lens cover. Not sure if you have seen this. Cheers!
You are right, the lens does snap in place. I didn't know about the gasses, though. I didn't see anything weird yet regarding the lens or while recording. I will do an update to show how it records and what you get and the results. I'll take a closer look at that. Thanks for letting me know!
The same happend to me lol but from my car doing drift...
Oh no... hopefully, your car doing drift was intentional! Lol
The lens will pop in firmly. You don't really need to glue it in.
True, I just wanted to make sure it stays. But it does pop in place.
Thanks for showing us the process! I'm not sure it's worth though. The camera is no water sealed anymore, and added to the price of the pieces, it's not much money saved, specially for reselling 😕
Not waterproof because I openned the top which is not needed... otherwise, it would be. And the reason I decided to change it myself is that it would of cost me more (because I'm in Canada and I had to ship it to US) and I would of not have my camera for a few weeks... and maybe months. But you are right, if you don't need the cam and able to wait, and you are able to pay, it's better off sending it to the company, for sure.
bro throw it already away :D
It still works, though. And they are quite expensive piece of gear...
you are a Superwoman....not sure this was possible without sending it to the company but yea....where there is a will there is a way...hope you got protective lens covers for the lens....so that you dont remove the top off again ;P
Also has all this hassle has actually worked?
Loll not sure about superwoman... maybe more a "want-to-do-by-herself-to-save-money" type of gal! 😂
I did buy some protective lenses, but I took them out... because you can see them if the suns reflects in them.
It turned out great! I will do a update vid soon!
The problem is the quality of stitching the image from two matrices. This is a very fine-tuning. The video does not show the result of how the camera shoots after replacing the lens. And how it stitches both images.
Good point. I didn't do a follow-up vid. I will. Since it is not the primary lense, there is no stiching problem... not that I've seen.
@@LivingLifewithJudith I found out in one video that a special adjustment is required after replacing the lens. Without it, the camera stitches images from two matrices incorrectly.
Thanks for letting me know! You are always better off sending it back to the company, they will definitely know what they are doing.
@@LivingLifewithJudith In any case, you need to try to shoot so that the seam does not fall on important parts of the video. Good luck to you!)))
@@LivingLifewithJudith I will pick up my new X3 in a few days from the transport company!!!
You was just need to remove the second part
I just needed to remove the lens, which I say at the beginning of my video. But I realized it afterward.
Cool
STOP! Before removing lenses! You can polish it with easy without replacement if it doesn’t cracked.
I did try to polish it before changing it. But it didn't work because the lens was cracked, and some of the scratches were too deep to polish.
Your insta360 in no longer waterproof 🤫🤫🤫🤫
Yes, I know. That's what I said it in the video. I also said that it is not necessary to remove the casing to repare the lens.
you pay 400 dollar those morons want more ...so they ship new x4 with 2 typs lensguard while they cant figurer it out how can make a stabile lens like gorilla glass
i dont pay them repair cost ....i wanna never gonna buy them again
you saying nomore waterproof ..who cares
I agree. I don't get why they didn't come up with something stronger. But if you don't remove the cover like I did and only the outer lens, the camera will still be waterproof.
You should change the title of this video to "How NOT To Change The Lens on an Insta360 One X2"
What a waste of time watching this was.
"GLASS CUTTER" smfh
I could... but I won't. Thanks for your opinion.
you dont have schrach on your cheap made it lens !? why you watching this
@@firstsoldier4257 I don't anymore. I got it figured out despite all of the terrible videos.
Glad you did!
@@LivingLifewithJudith I should probably thank you though. Because it took so long to get iit fixed, my wife got me the X3 for my birthday.
