    I've got RE Himalayan. I used the rack on the front side to hose clamp a monopod to my Insta360 One R. Pretty happy with the result, but have since moved it so positioned facing more upwards than it was in my latest video adventure bike training.

    Excellent video. I bought this camera and was looking for ideas on how to mount the camera on my motorcycle and yours are the best ones I've seen! I will probably mount the camera on the bike sideways instead of sitting on the stick though, because I move around too much on the seat when I drag the knee. 😉

    The new Insta360 One X2 is surprisingly way improved relative to the older One X. My big issue with the old X is its vibration sensitivity - specifically when mounted to my viby S1000RR - where it would continually crash, not only stopping the current video but permanently corrupting it. The X2 appears to fully address this.
    My application and need is different from yours - more focused on the sportbike experience, especially on racetracks. Here is an initial test of the X2 when mounted to the triple-clamp on some local twisties. This test mounts it to a RAM steering column ball mount to a double-socket arm. The only reframing I do is in the opening sequence. I really like the Flowstate Stabilization and the horizon leveling.
    The audio, color, etc. are unprocessed.
    Now I'm trying to figure out how to use its Bluetooth audio capability. Audio is among the more vexing problems on a motorcycle. Using Bluetooth without wires, stupid adapters, etc. could be awesome.

      @WheelieGoodTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I’ve just watched your video and would love to ride that machine! I know what you mean about the audio, it would make the camera complete. I never had any problems with my One X crashing but as you say it could be different vibes on different machines. That’s a great video anyway. Nice one 👍🏍🎥

    • @bernhtp
      @bernhtp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WheelieGoodTV The vibration issue was so terrible on the One X. A high-revving inline-four superbike inherently vibrates. When the camera is mounted to the frame/triple-clamp, the vibration will be efficiently transmitted to the camera.
      It would only crash occasionally in the beginning, but then increasingly occur with greater frequency until after a couple of months, it would always crash. Apparently the vibration shakes something loose on the inside so its electrical connection become increasingly tenuous. I sent it in for RMA twice - the first time it acted like new, but eventually also degraded into uselessness. The second time they took three months and then did nothing to the camera.
      You use a soft mount - at the end of a long stick - and to your non-conductive body, and so wouldn't expect to have this problem. But the X2 is better in other ways. Little things like support for h.265 to make your videos consume about half the space add up.
      I wanted something for the racetrack where most track/racing orgs prohibit adhesive helmet mounts. This works really well.

    Congratulations on the review! I still have one doubt: since the original files seem to be quite heavy, is there a way to 'shorten' them to discard what we know we are not going to use? Either on camera or on the computer, on a trip you can accumulate a lot and it would be interesting to be able to optimize space, like we do when shorten files on our phones... especially if we plan to edit at the end of the trip when we get home. Thanks for your help!!!

    Thanks for the great video and info. I, too, hate the curve videos. I am currently debating which camera to get..probably 360....but my end goal is to ride around the country side of Japan and take in the scenery so biggest view of scenery (I dont need to be in the shot), so I was wonder what the best setup for that would be. I was thinking a 360 camera because I could choose at times to use the front footage and sometimes the back...and maybe even the sides (not sure how that works). In your video you didn't have any big wife nice shots of scenery so not even sure if what I want to do is possible. Love the accent :) OH also did you not like the GoPro Max?

    • @WheelieGoodTV

      I will get around to doing this as I’ve been asked a few times. It does make those changes permanent to your timeline but doesn’t affect your original footage so you can go back at a later stage and select completely different angles again from the same footage. You need to use the key frame marker within the software to choose your shots. I will definitely do a demo on this.

    Hi there, lovely very interesting video. Thank you so much for the contributions and dedication. What mic moto-loggers use with an insta 360x3 that is waterproof and it’s easy to connect once you go back to the motorbike( meaning it will connect via Bluetooth directly without touching anything)?.
    Very important is to say bikers use thick gloves and they want to know when they decide to record( as they have the microphone inside the helmet in order to avoid the wind noise as much as possible) a mic that is easy to touch and start recording unless that has voice command( like AirPods-which seems a bit of a issue every single time you go back to the bike and you have to connected to the X3).
    Thank you for your time

    • @WheelieGoodTV
      @WheelieGoodTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ray, thanks for the sub and yes I have had a few mishaps alright. I keep a pair of wrench pliers in my panniers to tighten everything to max when I’m using the Manfrotto mounts and as I said in the video turn the camera to attract the least amount of airflow. Other than that I try not to do stupid speeds with this camera configuration and also not for too long using any camera angle.
      When I’m sitting on the selfie stick and it’s out the side of me I find that the most secure and safest way to capture the 360 footage. Thanks again. Cheers, Dave. 🎥👍🏍

    Great footage of what can be achieved with the X2! Has the software improved as far as the curving effect to smooth it out better?

    • @WheelieGoodTV
      @WheelieGoodTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tommy, unfortunately the software hasn’t been given an improvement but there are a few plugins for final cut X which do a great job. They are designed to take the curve out of DJI drone footage and definitely work on my footage. It’s a bit time consuming though so I only use it on really curved footage which I want to save.

    How do you get a shot where you can see the effects of the motorcycle leaning? Where the horizon goes at an angle on a tight turn. Much like you would get on a fixed camera angle. That way it captures the essence of how twistie the road s.

    • @WheelieGoodTV
      @WheelieGoodTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gary. The short answer is no I’m afraid. To get the horizon level you have to zoom in using the software which would make it unusable in terms of pixelation. A GoPro set in linear mode is your best chance for this. 👍🎥
