I’m a big fan of AAC ammo. I encourage its use since it is the first really new ammo manufacturer in the US to compete against the monopolistic legacy manufacturers.
Badlands Fieldcraft, love the usage of the 25 meter Zero targets for range work. "Aim small, miss small" is best practice indeed!! BTW great shooting in low light both at 400 and 300, outstanding Devil dog in showing us the capabilities of the Primary Arms SLx 1-6!!
Thank you, it’s a good target. If you’re interested you can get a copy for free over in my blog library. The 1-6 SLx is a great little scope, nothing real fancy, just really practical.
I've shot about 1,000 rounds of AAC .308. Very consistent. Great value. It's my stock up .308. The terminal effects of their 110grain .300 blk are insane, too.
Good to know sir and thanks for putting in the work. FWIW I have been shooting a ton of the AAC 77 grain OTM out to 600 yards and at extended range service rifle matches. The AAC has preformed so well that have backed off reloading 77 gr OTM. In short it has been outstanding! Going to give the AAC .308 a try based on your input and Badlands initial grouping here in the video.
That’s awesome, I like the idea of reloading but it’s not what I like to spend my time doing, I’m going to look into some of their 5.56 too. I did get a box of 6.5 Grendel Sabre to try in my other Ruger Ranch too.
It was dark enough I couldn’t tell where I was hitting at 400. Now that I have ran the ballistics in Strelok I’m pretty sure I was shooting over the target at 400. When I get some more AAC ammo in I plan to rezero at 35 yards, that will put the BDC more in alignment than it was when I was shooting. 55 yards was the zero for the 150 grain superformance I used in the last video so I just stuck with it this time to try it out.
@@BadlandsRifleman Did you chrono your load or are you just running numbers? The best thing to do is “true” or fine tune your zero, get it hitting dead on vertically at 300 using the 300bdc mark and the rest will line up for you, if you have actual fps let me know ill run your data, if its off the box or the internet I wouldn’t trust it.
That’s what I’ve done in the past as well, I call it a “mid point zero”, since it’s about the mid range of what I expect my BDC to be accurate at. It works very good with the ACSS reticles. Using my estimated velocity a 35 yard zero puts the 300 yard BDC mark dead on at 300. I’ll zero at close range then confirm and fine tune at distance. I haven’t invested in a chrono yet so I don’t have the numbers. I always true my data at distance so in the end my data is good to go so I haven’t really needed a chrono, but it would be interesting to know the SD of different ammunition. I appreciate the input and advice, I can tell you have done your homework!
@@XLOGIC-LLC Excuse my ignorance, I just saw on your TH-cam that you designed the ACSS line of reticles? They are impressive to say the least, I’ve owned a few optics with different versions of the ACSS, but I think this Raptor is my favorite for in the field.

I’m liking it so far!

@@BadlandsRiflemantotally agree brother! Case prep is super tough to endure.
@joegeezer6375 lol definitely
Aac 124gr 9mm i got was terrible.
Must have been tumbling for some reason, was all over the place at 50y out of 2 pistols.
I haven’t tried any of their pistol ammo, this .308 is the first I’ve tried from them. So far so good!
Why did you zero at 55 yards? Were you high, low or left and right at 400?

@@BadlandsRifleman Thank you for kind words, the ACSS Raptor is one of my favorites too, you got the 5.56/308 version right?
