I bought one of these. The guy that owns this company is a really cool dude that is passionate about his work. I made a few mods to mine. I wasn't happy with the shoulder strap design and found the overall pack a bit too busy, so I sewed on some padded shoulder straps from a Savior tiger stripe rifle bag, and removed some of the features and returned it a little closer to the original Becker design. I love it now!
He’s a good guy for sure. There’s nothing wrong with modifying your gear to fit what you need for sure. Did you get the two piece shoulder straps or the one piece harness with yours?
@BadlandsRifleman I had the same Y harness as in this video. I found the pack really jumped around a lot left and right. It's just not my style. You did a great job presenting this pack. Really well done man!
Thank you, be sure to check out the update video I did that goes over the improvements Bongo made since the first generation of packs like in the video. Thanks for checking it out!
It’s a great looking pack. Very well executed. As far as the straps go, I love all my HPG packs, but a good design is a good design. That harness system is the best (imo) so, why not use it? Can’t wait to get this pack… I think in brown though.
The brown looks great, even Bongo wanted to send me an updated one to inspect I was torn between green and brown. I ended up going with green since it’s more “historically accurate” you might say. Thanks for checking out the video!
@BadlandsRifleman they look like it would 🤣. Ahh they can make a can of soup and coffee ( of a sort lol ) that self heats. The man that makes a self cooling can, a beer or coke after a 20km hike, will be a rich man😂
My only real complaint is the last time I looked at the page, there weren’t any Coyote or Tan in stock, lol. Minor complaint about the design is the pocket-hook/loop-pocket on the lid instead of 3x pocket.
Hello How does it carry loaded up?? It's a cool looking pack, and it looks like it will handle just great. But what weights have you been carrying over what distances?? And what size is it liters, do you know? Thanks
It carries good. I did a review video on the pack where I get into the pros and cons, but that was with my first BPP. I need to get the new one loaded up and do some rucking with it. There’s not really any difference in the suspension and frame though so it should be pretty much the same. The main compartment of the pack is 26L and with the additional storage from the pouches it is 41L total. The pack was designed to carry up to 50 pounds, my normal weight is around 30-35 pounds depending on sleeping gear, clothes, etc. The longest distance I’ve carried the pack at one time was 9 miles and I could have kept going If I needed to easily. I really like the shoulder straps, the yoke style is great if you haven’t used it before. The hip belt is good but I like to change mine out for my Hill People Gear Prairie Belt, which is the nicest hip belt I’ve used. It’s a completely optional upgrade, but the belt is damn near half the cost of the pack. Thanks for the good questions and thanks for watching!
That’s what the posted numbers are, but to me it seems a little low for what you can actually fit. If you’re familiar with a medium Alice pack, it has more room than that. I get pretty detailed in this video with a pack list that I’ve used a lot, and you should be able to get a good idea if it will work for you or not, take care! th-cam.com/video/GTEaXlxRDVA/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@BadlandsRifleman ya I like my britsh plce. Works great for patrolling my land up here in alberta. Been looking for a good bag to ad to the plce for a get home bag
@MrWilliewonka69 So I know that the owner of Bongo Gear likes belt mounted kit and I also know that the original Becker was designed in the late 70’s/ early 80’s, at a time when they were pretty much running belt kit as well. I’ve still got my belt kit and I’ll dig it out and make a video so you can see what it looks like.
The large looks like a really good design too, I can reach out to him and see if he’s interested in letting me borrow one and do a side by side comparison. I know from talking to him that the large is really well received by a lot of folks in the Infantry and SOF communities. In the video where I pack for summer the regular had quite a bit of room left. The large is listed at 65 liters versus the 41 of the regular BPP, so it could probably fit the whole house haha. Thanks for checking out the video!
I'm sorry I did not catch the model of this one. can you tell me again please? I'd trade every pack I have for this model and New, damn!! this is what I have been looking for! was into the G$ operator but the weight and the cash is just to much. would like to see this in a camping loadout and see it worn. thanks for the showing
100 liters is a serious load hauler! How many mags and how much water would you typically carry in a pack that size? What’s your preferred 100 liter pack? I’ve looked into the Savotta Jääkäri XL in the past but I don’t really need a pack that big anymore, except in the winter but I’ve got a pack frame that I prefer for that. Back in “the day” it would have been nice though carrying crew served weapons parts and munitions. Thanks for checking out the video!

Some good upgrades. I usually change out the zippers on most of the packs I have just to stop that jingle jangle jingle.
Nate
Yeah it’s annoying for sure, I’m glad they went to a better zipper pull on this one. Thanks for watching!
The pouches on the lid you suggest is for AR mags, I contend are for 2 Cokes or 2 beers😅
I’d say they would fit perfectly!

Got mine ordered, Milticam with a side zip
If I didn’t have two already I’d be getting that same one!
Any idea how these would fit with lbe gear like the plce ?
I’ve heard they fit the same but I’m a chest rig guy so I haven’t tried it myself.
@BadlandsRifleman ya I like my britsh plce. Works great for patrolling my land up here in alberta. Been looking for a good bag to ad to the plce for a get home bag
I’m pretty sure it would work well, what pack do you use currently?
@BadlandsRifleman just the plce with a usgi sustainment pouch rolled on to the yoke

I believe there is a coyote and also a multicam version. Are you meaning a different pattern than those? Three color desert would be pretty cool..

Sorry, it’s the Bongo Gear Becker MkII. It’s pretty hard to beat! bongogear.com/products/becker-patrol-pack-mk-ii?variant=44083612811493
Is the pack-sack capable of carrying a ballistic/bump helmet?
I think it would be able to although I haven’t tested that myself.
I still have Gen 1 👍
Right on, do you mean the Bongo Gear version or even older?
Looks to small for me, I prefer a minimum of 100liter so I can carry more magazines, and more water cause no two quart canteens isn't enough for me
