I'm from UK.We only used the word car or van To us a truck is like a small lorry 🚚. I think we'd call your car a flat bed?

Oh, interesting. In the USA we call a car a car and a this a pick-up truck ( shortened to just truck). We call a lorry, an 18 wheeler.

      Hi @simonfaulkner
I’m from the Uk ( Scotland) and i only have ever heard this vehicle called a pickup or pickup truck, a flatbed does not have sides on it and is typically larger, Americans typically use the terminology truck , shortened from pickup truck ,
Hope you have a great day , regards Davy🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇹🇭
