Some folks you can't please. I may be wrong, but it is almost impossible to pull down over 20 degrees, with any system. Yeah I know it depends on how well you are insulated and sealed, and etc.. It has been crazy hot in my area, breaking all kind of records. A door not closing, filthy filter, heck it's her own fault. She was agreeing with someone on the phone when she needs to agree with you. You should have asked her if her fridge stays cold with the door open.
Hahaha! Refrigerator staying cold question would have been GOLDEN!!!
You haven't gotten the word yet? There is no longer anything called Personal Responsibility since the Woke idiots took office.
I give this analogy with customers that turn off the system before they go to work.
Workin' on our night moves tryin' to lose the awkward teenage blues
That last call with the door being stuck open with it being 100+ outside is a huge problem with how close that thermostat is to that door. All that warm ambient air is going to make that thermostat read a different temperature from the actual indoor temperature. They do need to get that fixed before you can actually further assess the problem in my honest opinion. I think you always do a great job in your diagnostics. Keep up the good work. Been learning a lot from you along the way.
I remember Bob Seager real well he was real popular in my teen years in the 1970's, I miss Albums
6:36 I grew up in Clarkston, MI. My Mom and I ran into Bob at a Citgo gas station near our house. It was surreal, and he's a candidate for world's nicest dude I think mainly because I referenced the Silver Bullet Band's bassist lol.
That thermostat is right by the door. I guarantee that 7 degrees is from the door.
Bob Seger, Down On Mainstreet was one of my favorites by him and The Silver Bullet Band.
Main St and still the same brilliant
Oh yeah Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band I saw him in concert long time ago….Great video Curtis Climate Control is the best…
I thought it would have been Night Moves. It has that effect on you Curtis 😂
I also thought it might be We've Got Tonight. It's appropriate for an a/c man. They want it fixed TODAY. Who needs tomorrow, let's find a way.
Good job. I look forward to tomorrows vid. Well i guess it will b today since im a day late
And the Silver Bullet Band....👍
Favorite Seger tunes for me, Get out of Denver and Horizontal bop. They can also become earworms.
Yes, Bob Seger 👍👍👍
Shame on the Moon
Some of us know Pete Seeger!
I'm 33 and sure I know who Bob Seger is. Love classic rock (60s, 70s) especially Prog Rock. Stay cool man! Great job as always!
I’m 62 and been to katmandu
Rock on!
Sure remember the night moves! Lord I remember!
shoot my lennox put in 2013 will easily keep the house at 70 all day when its over 100 outside. but i rinse the coils off often, keep air filter changed, and i have a tree shading the back of the house. maybe im lucky, idk. but the installer did a hell of a good job. ten years and never needed to call them over. im bummed im out of warranty this year but it shows no signs of giving me problems.
i have an apple air tag in my bag aswell best investment so far for me lol great video tech appreciate your hard work
Thanks for watching!
You must be feeling better. Like your musical taste, Bob Seger! Regards from the UK.
I am!
No problem yeah I noticed it too the Lent😅😅😂😂
Manual J design conditions for my area (New Orleans) is 92 outdoor with 75 indoor at 50% r.h. Expecting an indoor temperature of 70 degrees with outdoor of 97 degrees is not going to happen unless the system is way oversized.
manual J is 10-15% oversized as is. Plus do not forget thermodynamics that is thermal mass. But your right and i am a firm believer in Manual J and undersizing to 95%
I saw Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band at the Meadowlands Arena in NJ in '82. Great show, and he closed with Night Moves as a final encore.
Take care and God Bless.
Fire Lake is another Seger favorite.
I feel bad for anyone that doesn't know who Bob Seger is!
One of my favorites is Turn the page.
I went to a Bob Seger concert in Lincoln Park Mi in 1972. $6 bucks for a ticket.
I wish I had seen him in concert
Led zeppelin 1979 front row center $12
And that was quite a bit of money back then the reason concerts cost $6,200 today is because fools pay the price.
I don't blame the concerts for being expensive by blame the idiots that pay the price.
As long as all the idiots keep paying the price, the price will keep going to go up.
Until consumers grow brain and stay home.
@@scottchapman9931AMEN TO THAT! Van Halen 1984, 2nd Row - SCALPED - $20. If there’s a Blu-ray of a performance, I want to see I’ll buy that for $35 and watch it in my movie room as many times as I want to.
Be sure to buy a few stand-up fans to recirculate air. You'll always be 😎 !!
72 degrees is pretty tops.
Are you working on your night moves? 😂😂😂. Love the videos. Great job.
I had to stop the video to tell you I knows who be Bob Seger & Silver Bullet Band. Listened to him way back in early '80's
WoW Curtis that Ruud is sure knocked about, it looks like some one backed a car into it 😵 Au
I worked with a girl who used to say "ssshhhhhhh Bob's singing"
The best song ever written Roll Me Away.
Now it's a 12-N-1
I grew up listening to Bob seager, also u mentioned 70 on the thermostat, I keep mine on 72 all year round, only if it gets near low teens do I put it up higher fir heat
It has been so hot been watching for a long time, live in Vegas temps have not been below 100 for 30 days +
Nice sometimes it not so obvious. Always learning
10:01 - Thanks. Now it’s stuck in _my_ head. And I’m not even listening to it from a device.
Glad you’re doing something to keep up with your tools lol.
Got a cap in a box. Probably cause its round. 😂
You aint showed a cap-in-a-box in a while😂😂😂
Awesome video hope you are feeling better keep up the good work
It’s been a condenser fan motor kind of summer
“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” - George Carlin
Nice jobs Curtis. Be careful out there.
Hello Curtis. Great video despite the lint:-). Love me some Bob Seger!
Good song
Yes, I know Seger, good artist
unique and great voice
great stuff!!
Besides your skills that cam location shows all👍🏽
Man I havent listen to bob seger in awhile. Been on a Journey kick lately.
Curtis you are a saint brother i would of been gone. We have our share down here in florida.
I've been retired for a number of years and I still get calls 😏
You the man 👍👍👍
Those notes remind me of my mama. She has dementia and wrote things like that because she thought someone was taking her things. Good work . Stay safe out there.
I worked at the Civic Center in Charleston, WV in the middle 70’s and my ID got me back stage to any concert or event playing. I saw many bands, circus, sport’s games but I always enjoyed watching the bands do their sound checks but Ted Nugent was the loudest of them all. I saw so many bands to mention here but Peter Frampton had civic center filled way beyond capacity there were so many people there I couldn’t physically get back stage, glad the fire marshal didn’t stop by he would have shut down the concert and it would caused a riot.
Seen Bob Seger live Sept 5 1975 at cobo hall in Detroit Michigan. Best song Turn the page.
I own a couple of those bit drivers by Felo. Love the grip and the magnet
The second call with the Goodman…yea I’ve got burned on that one a couple times, the condensate is clogged just enough to intermittently trip the float. Of course when I showed up it was running. Then I leave and they call back 30 minutes later
Did you forget to clean up the drain line? lol
One of the first things I do when I walk up to look at an air handler/evap coil is check the float switch, and then the drain line.... Even when I go to change a fan motor, compressor, or a complete install I always vacuum or blow that drain line with pressure, makes it easier to minimize the call backs.
A tech told me many years ago that when you try and cool more then ten degrees, the unit is going to be running continually and the electric bill will reflect it. I've always pretty much staid with that directive and have had little trouble with comfort. But that's just me....Another fine Curtis production.😎
It's easy to forget to check the electric heaters.
Yep had one the other day.. strip heat relay was stuck closed. Pressures/superheat and subcool all normal but the temp split sucked, was like 12* and of course not maintaining setpoint.
And duct leaks.
What song? My best guess is Night Moves or We've Got Tonight.
Edit: I heard the answer a few minutes later and my first guess was right 🤠
Thermostat by the door is poor placement to begin with, let alone an exterior door that is left open.
Bob Seager, Classic Rock or easy rock music.. Yep. Thumbs Up
Can't go wrong with Seger
I think your camera/cell phone got some oil on it!
I know who Bob Seger is, I was a teenager in the 70's 👍
I finally broke down and bought the Dewalt 20v fan accessory to add to my "collection." It'll probably be getting some use this weekend, if my back is cooperating I'll be doing a compressor changeout. On my Jeep. 🙂I've never done this before, so hopefully I've learned enough from Curtis and Chris to get it right!
6:32 - Having Bob Seger songs stuck in your head isn't a bad thing... Heck, my Senior Prom song/theme was "We've Got Tonight." (Graduated in '96) I was surprised my student council had even heard of the song. My grandmother had the LP "The Distance" and played "Shame on the Moon" constantly, while my mother was much more enamored with "You'll Accomp'ny Me." I have to watch out if I'm driving and "Hollywood Nights" comes on, it's one of those songs that makes me want to drive unreasonably fast.
My mom once had a Chevy Cavalier, her license plate had the letters "ROK" - after she hit a pretty big deer, denting the hood slightly and busting the mounting bracket for one headlight assembly, she kept singing "Like a Rock" for a few days. 🤣
10:05 - "Was a little too tall, could've used a few pounds... Tight-pants points hardly renowned..."
11:02 - It's OK, that cap is rated ±60% tolerance. 🤪
The package unit king bro
Hi bro from west Alabama
Ours quit Sunday about noon, due to be repaired tomorrow, Thursday. Indoor temp 91 degrees.
Dang, from overhearing that last call, totally reminds me of the “California Karen”. I see them a lot in the wild in Los Angeles… you got to treat them the same as the coyotes: get real big and scream “gGO AWAY KAREN!!”
I have been in property maintenance for years.and it's amazing how renters always seem to think they know MORE about what the cause of the problem is.. you're a nice tech.. sometimes you just have to educate them on the reality of equipment and it's limits..lol .good diagnostic..
You can never go wrong with Bob Seger !
On Thursday I had a strange call. Three in shot burner and one of the was going off intermittently. I had another tech come and take a look and he found the crack in every single tube where they hook to the burner assembly. The one shutting off was at the bottom..
"Night Moves" I believe is one of his songs. Old stuff just keeps on running and running like the bunny. Fix them and be happy.
I keep my house at 72 during the day and when the dog opens the patio door to go out, the temp goes up pretty quickly on 90+ degree days. That service door into the house is probably her main problem.
Ya zzz z5. 5 que que
Curtis try to get Apple to make baby size air tags for your individual have tools Lol
Trying to cool the outside in 100 degree weather just ain’t gonna work 😅
The idea that you hate to do major replacement work under warranty is off-putting. That is a chance to make a lifetime happy customer ,and demonstrate the fact that you proudly stand behind your work.
Some people will be upset no matter what.
Next time, tell her to call her friendly locksmith, he won’t mind putting in a lock for that will do two things. It’ll keep the hot and cold where they belong and LAWSON make him a little money to you. 😂
The last call was tough, but it seemed like it went well
I had tenants in rental properties who did not understand the difference between an air conditioner and a refrigeration unit. 90+ outside and they want it 68* inside
By different you must mean a GREE split
Nope
That's kind of dumb a hot air coming from that door is heating up the thermostat. It's never going to get cool where she wants it cuz you're keeping that thermostat to hot. 😪🤥🔥👍🤟🌟
If that was my unit I would clean out all the grass and debre out/off the cooling fins. Clean fins provide better heat transfer/air flow.
22:10 best statement of video... Restricted coil.
Back at the apartments again. Coils don't last very long anymore. I'll be seeing you around diiirrty county
I have seen that happen to a few impact rated 11-1
And people mock harbor freight at 1/3 the price.
either funky rubber compound or one of the oils/cleaners is softening it up. good old chemical reactions.
How do you film this way? I like it because it’s focusing on the subject not all on the person filming. Smart. If possible can you show us how you do this?
Great 3 Videos, makes me wish I could haved tagged along!
That last one, I would let somebody else deal with
those problems!
The first Video is a great instructional/troubleshooting Video
! I assume you meant that the reason for being able to use R22 as a Gas instead of a liquid is that it is not a mixture that can separate at different pressures? Thanks for the Videos!👍🇺🇸 😊
(I favor JJ Cale!)😉❤
I have an old 3 T whirlpool r22 that's 37 years old and lately she's able to hold 74 inside with outside temps in the 90's but I'm not sure I can push it much more.
same bro hang in there if they cant wait tell them to call someone else you recommend.
then she can fix the air condition see if it works. know it all person. be bless and safe.
Professional karens don't have the time or fortitude to deal with a door nob when they're on a roll.
Sad and absolutely hilarious all at the same time.
This is the Time of Year when you Hold your Breath when you have a really Old piece of Equipment. I chose Not to have a Failure because of Old Equipment. 👍🙏
Didn't I just catch you on Jeff's channel? IAIS? Lol.
Why do you go for the gauges first? Why not start with electrical and temps first? I teach my students to check the refrigerants last and only if needed. There are too many leaking valve cores afterwards.
And YES, Bob Seger, great music.
why start with electrical if the system is running?
@TheSimba86 you can do a lot of diagnostics with electrical. If one put gages on, you can release refrigerant.
He's not using an analog set with 4 foot hoses. He lost at most an eighth of an Oz. That's not going to change a thing, that system probably holds 8-10 lbs.
we're you humming a song from 1962?
I would be freezing my butt off at 70. A door handle would help a lot
Turn the page! My favorite Bob Seeger tune.
We've had some situations like that, if you have more heat conyin than you can compebyfir, then no AC unit can cool your unit, very common in apartments
What language was that?
