    Yes, the Audi S5 Sportback has been around for a few years, but its still a marvelous option if you want a small, quick AWD luxury sport sedan disguised as a hatchback. Painted in this Turbo Blue color and it still turns a lot of heads on the road. We're going to miss vehicles like this when the segment goes completely all-electric 😢

    The Audi S5 and RS 5 sportbacks are my favourite Audi cars. While the SQ8/ RS Q8 are my favourite SUVs from Audi, the S5/RS 5's design and look are just more sleeker and much more beautiful. I think the S5 is more than enough for me, and I have seen some of these in my neighbourhood quite often. I would definitely consider buying an S5 for myself, but maybe in a more stealthier colour, especially in this sportback, because it's more practical :D Overall, great car from Audi~

I had the APR+ Tune installed at delivery which boosted it to 358hp and 348 lb/ft torque but on a 2.0L 4-cylinder. It has more standard features than the Audi S5 plus more features than the Prestige package offers on the Audi. With the Tune included I drove it out the door for $40,700. Retail was $49,500. • @isakyhadz
      @isakyhadz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The new m440i doesn't sound as good because of the 48v mild hybrid. It lost its pops and burbles when shifting. The S5 sportback sounds amazing. This was before the 48v mild hybrid. Don't know if it sounds different or not. I had a 2018 and it was one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. I will say though it's starting to show its age. However, I personally think it looks far better than the M440 with that grill. Just my opinion!

    • @kdschwebel
      @kdschwebel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You really can't go wrong with either of those options. I think in the end it depends on your style preference. I was in the market back in 2020 and was debating between the M340i or the S5 Sportback. I also considered just waiting until the new M440i Gran Coupe was available as I really liked that four-door fastback body style on the previous 4-series. I test drove the M340i and it was really impressive. With 382-hp, it was really quick (almost as fast as an Audi RS5, which I also test drove), and in Sport mode it delivered a lot of theatrics out of the exhaust. It had a spacious backseat and a large trunk. It's a great sport sedan. My only problem with it was the styling, as it doesn't look that much different than a regular 330i that you would see little rich kids driving around the streets of Los Angeles. On the other hand, I've loved the S5 Sportback since I first saw pictures of it back in 2017. It's just a great looking, well-proportioned sport sedan, and the refresh that it received in 2020 (new wheels, new grille, touchscreen infotainment display) made me love its design even more. At 349-hp, it's not as powerful as the M340i, but when I test drove an S4 (the dealership I was at didn't have an S5 at the time), I was convinced that it was PLENTY quick for my needs. Put it in dynamic mode, and the throttle response is immediate, and it's a blast to drive. Then, when I saw spy shots of the new 4-series, and I saw that buck-toothed grille, that made my decision much easier. Needless to say, I bought the 2020 S5 Sportback. I got one with the prestige package, black optic package, S sport package, and black Nappa interior. It's painted in Navarra blue. It's a looker, it's fun to drive, it's got lots of cargo space, and I absolutely love my choice.

This S5 Sportback seems like the next progression in my VAG adventure. Long term relatability will be the biggest factor but it’s definitely a beautiful car with all the practicality you could ask for.

    Love the S5 Sportback, but I couldn't justify paying over $90k CAD for a new model with a proper equipment list, even after the test drive. Decided to replace my 07 Acura TL Type-S with a '23 Stinger GT Elite instead which was $26k less and it's basically 90% of the car. It feels a bit more engaging to drive when compared to the Audi. The interior of the Audi has solid fit but the materials are a little lacking. I'd love the blue color on my Stinger though. The TLX Type-S was a massive disappointment to me though. Cancelled my invoice after it came in and test drove it.

    • @techcargamer
      @techcargamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get that. Almost bought an S5 but after seeing and test-driving the Stinger I had to go for the Stinger. The Audi interior and exhaust are better but other than that the Stinger felt more special.

      Unlike the RS5, you can get some really strong deals on lightly used S5 models. Worth considering.

    • @ShafinRehman
      @ShafinRehman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CollegeFootballNerds It's hard to get a deal on anything in this market, especially on a used car. Combined with the absolutely terrible interest rates on used cars, at least in my country and city, a lightly used model is just as expensive as a new one.

    • @wazgoodjj
      @wazgoodjj 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Clearly you were looking at the wrong car. 90k for the RS5 and 65k for this model. I'm sorry but I would choose the S5 over a "KIA" any day especially when I'm only spending and extra 6k more.

    • @ShafinRehman
      @ShafinRehman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wazgoodjj Nope. In Canada, equipping the S5 with the same level of equipment as the Stinger, which mean the top "Tecknik" trim and adding almost every option because simple things like heated seats and a 360 camera are missing, comes out to $90K CAD and that's before interest. Even the base trim is still $83k. The RS5 tops at over $120k CAD. The Stinger was $65k CAD all in. If you do the conversion, you'll find the Canadian Stinger is much cheaper than the US model, and makes way more sense. Plus, it's hilarious watching an S5 driver shake their head in disbelief when the "Kia" keeps up with them.

The 4 series GC just looks odd better than the coupe but still odd and ugly especially depending on the color. The S5 on the other hand is a gorgeous car , I'm sure the next generation will also be. Also a 4 series GC Coupe can run to over the cost of an S5

      @@ftr911drvr having owned both the A5 has a nice exterior and interior but the tech isn’t nearly as good. It’s performance and engine isn’t competitive with the BMW period. Audi charges $500 for 18 months and doesn’t even offer 1/2 what the BMW does like remote start, phone as a key, integrated drive recorder and remote camera support.

    Awesome car, I just got the same '22 S5 Sportback, Prestige, Daytona Grey, Black Optics, Magma Red interior. Love the car and the sportback is very practical. Also the reason the new ones don't come with the flat bottom steering wheel anymore is because of the chip shortage I believe, supply shortage did something and they couldn't do the flat bottom with the heated function or something like that, that's one thing I wish it had but it's not a big deal, the steering wheel still looks awesome.
    Another thing I do wish the ambient lighting was a bit more extensive, and included a strip going across the dash or something too. And the red leather is just on the seats, I do wish it had it on the center console leather trim part and the door handle/armrest trim at least to get some more red going, but overall still nice as is and very happy with it, that's stuff I can customize later.
