I love that these young folk are watching Woodstock ‘99 as a historic music event. I remember watching this like it was yesterday but acknowledge that it was a lifetime ago. It ended terribly and finally put the nail in the coffin of peace and love but it still takes me back to a better time. You kids will have all of this back, hopefully soon.
It was insane
I was there! Woodstock ‘99. Listened to Korn since 97 and it was my first, of many, times seeing them.
That's awesome. Glad you survived it ;)
Glad you survived lol
Congratulations👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Fun fact: Brian Welch left Korn 2005 after finding God, quitting his 10-15 year meth addiction, and hearing his 5 year old daughter singing ADIDAS lyrics. Now he makes Christian music with a similar style to Korn. I read his autobiography in prison. It was called "Save Me from Myself" which is also the name of his first Christian album I think
Wow thanks for sharing that! I used to serve him at the coffee shop. We’re both from Bakersfield! He was very kind
didnt he rejoin in 2013 again?
He's been back in the band for a minute now
@@ChrisJohnson1988 That's awesome. I read it in 2020, but it was published in 2008, so I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info.
The crowds back then were lit bec. they didn’t have smartphones. Just pure rocking out.
A skirt and a fanny pack? That's a kilt!😂
He plays the bagpipes.🤣
Not really. To be a kilt it has to have clan decal-patern!
@@marinothegreatsan If you mean tartan, then no it doesn't
I saw Korn open for Megadeth in 1995 right after this 1st album dropped and nobody knew who they were. They opened with this song, and the pit was fucking absolute mayhem
Must be a crazy night!!!
Megadeth closed Woodstock '99 too
Honestly one of the best bands I've seen live.
My friend and I got this on pay-per-view when it was happening and I’ll never forget watching the crowd move when the whole bank kicked in. We were amazed and speechless.
Same here man
I was speechless, excited, scared, everything while in the middle of all of it in the crowd up front, it was nuts!!
I've been in a pit that large, at most times you're not even on your feet, just bouncing around until somebody tosses you up into the air and you surf out...
Good times
I was at that concert. It was awesome, I wish I could go back again. The rave in the airplane hanger at night was good to.
Yes haha this was back when you could get ALL of the PPV channels for absolutely free, easily, but illegally haha I remember we watched about a thousand dollars worth of PPV movies and events in less than a week and never paid a penny. The good old days haha
That was around 220,000 in attendance 🤘 Something like 10,000 people for working show.
As far as opening songs go, there's some good ones, but I have yet to hear one top this. As an opener this shit slaps and checks your vibe right out the gate
When Jon asks 'Are you ready' you are ready
Its pretty hard to think of any rock band period, who nailed killer intro's the way Korn does. I think the crib mobile intro for Dead Bodies Everywhere is my fav, but Ball Tongue, No Place to Hide, Divine... the list just goes on and on. For opening shows though, I remember AFI around 99 ish as having incredibly dramatic intro's... lots of smoke and glowing pumpkins, and the whole crowd chanting "Through our bleeding WE ARE ONE!!!". God that was an amazing era for music.
I like how Fieldy is the coolest on the stage, just jamming
Freak on a leash by Korn is phenomenal
You have just earned yourself a sub
LONG LIVE KORN!!!
MOSH PIT! I've been in Korn pits. It ain't Slayer, but it's fun. I'll recommend Shoots and Ladders. It's a fun song. ✌️
It's a Kilt - he's repping his Scottish heritage
Also went to Highland High school in Bakersfield. Their mascot is the Scotsman. I'm sure this played a role. Bagpipes often played at events.
Amazing reaction video. Korn is my favorite band of all time. There was over 100 thousand people at that concert. 🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pantera pits were the most fun for me, but also the most dangerous. I lost a pinky toe and a piece of one ear in a pantera pit during mouth for war n didn't care til someone grabbed my shirt and showed me the blood as they dragged me toward the first aid tent. Cool dude, we got drunk after they released me from first aid lol n kept jamming. Best time ever at a concert.
"Imma wear that tomorrow. Thank you for leading the way to fashion."
lmao 🤣
Its funny shea is probably the only one that hasn't seen this performance.
Overall its awesome she gets to check it out for the first time.
ROCK on lady. More videos please.
moshing at a korn concert is the best ever
Was in the pits at aftershock it was phenomenal
Prime Johnny at 28 years old damn!!
As soon as I first heard you say you were from Bako, I immediately thought you at least liked a little bit of Korn haha also this is the best version of this song!
Brian " Head" is a cool dude. I was f up. Head said you banging against me. I was like omggggg. Chest bump. And Monkey and Fieldy. Btw this was Woodstock 99. 💋
I did see that, because I was there, in the crowd, right in front of the stage!!!
Yup, grew up on the EastSide! Davis went to Highland, learned the bagpipes, that's why he's wearing a kilt. Also plays the pipes on the first album.
You should react to all in the family, or children of the Korn. Both by korn. Awesome reaction
I was 24 when we went….most insane few days ever.
They estimated 300-500,000 people at Woodstock '99. Alot of people crashed the gates to get in so there were far more people than tickets sold.
Just found you as a Korn fan, definitely subscribed, thanks for doing this 🤘
I too saw the bassist for Korn that was frequent the Starbucks in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA when I used to live there.
Cute crowd. Take a look at Metallica Creeping Death Moscow 91'.
I was there in that crowd ,it was unbelievable but many people got hurt .I'm from Rome n.y. venue was our city's closed air force base
I highly recommend "Here To Stay"
Oh God that song!!! i can play it through
It was abso-fucking-lutely nuts there. I would guess around 150,000 people or more just at that stage. People as far as I could see
Timing the Roman Candles with the guitar is sick!
i do that dance move at the club all the time.. haha u got a chuckle for that one
10, 15 20 lol... 200,000 💯 woodstock was lit.. as fvcked up as it was, ask 95 percent of the people that went if they'd do it all over again, we'd say hell yeah!
I’m 66 yo and STILL rocking 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽to KORN
Hey Carlie! Enjoyed the vid - nice to see your smile! :)
More Korn please.
My dad lives in Bakersfield. Spent most of my summers, in the 90s, there.
Over the weekend, the event brought together 400,000 people to watch 32 songs, facing temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius!
Got to see them in concert in Minneapolis right before the pandemic!
And thats Jonathan Davis! Wearing a KILT. Not a skirt hahaha
There was nearly 400,000 people at that show. It was insane
Grew up on this music. Korn was so different when they came out... Real innovators! Check out the official video for Freak on a Leash! As to crowds... You should check out the Metallica concert in Moscow 1991. Over 1.6 million in attendance... I'd recommend Enter Sandman or Creeping Death. Another cool video to react to would be Pantera performing Domination at the same concert. These are popular videos to react to so shouldn't get blocked and should pick up alot of views and subscribers.... Enjoyed your reaction to Korn. Hope these suggestions help you grow your channel.
Biggest crowd I seen was at Moscow and watching Metallica, was told over a million in the crowd
I heard 356 were killed there
@@LeperMessiah2The number changes both up and down, depending on who you ask. But a lot of people did in fact die. A Million Six in the crowd and a Mikutary that had no clue.
Playing for crowd like this is a chalenge buy imagive being in first row :D Ive been there xD took me at least 7 days of my life xD
Damn, didn't know you're from Bakersfield. I was born and lived the first 20yrs just north of that in Fresno
Holy Shit! I grew up in Fresno but left 40 yrs ago. Fuckin hot in the San Joaquin Valley. Nice reaction
I saw them twice, once in 99 and once in 2000 so right around this show which i didn't see.
-KORN ( shoots & ladders/one live!! 2012)
This one would be perfect since you just reacted to metallicas "one" the other day
Fun fact: my first job was as a pizza vendor at Woodstock 99 when I was 17. The riot at the end of Sunday was scary asf but overall as a 17 yr old getting paid $600, fed, sheltered, and bussed up to the festival, and seeing so many of my favorite bands at the time and being paid for it, I have no complaints or regrets.
Estimates at the time were around 800,000 in attendance not counting bands, crews, workers, security, etc..
Also, if anyone who reads this bought a $12 personal size pizza or a $6 bottle of water at Woodstock 99, I'm sorry, I did inventory and had no control of prices or any of that, but I am well aware we were screwing people and it was all about the money.
There is about 80,000 people at Woodstock 94 some other great performances from that was Green Day nine inch nails you should also check out a band called motionless in White
wrong there was about 350,000 people at woodstock 94
Green Day sucks
Got the life live at dynamo 2000
Once again I enjoyed your video. Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
400,000 people were at woodstock 99
He's dressed in a traditional Scottish highland kilt with a leather sporran....It wasn't a skirt and a fanny pack ffs....lmao
You have to check out “Freak On A Leash” it’s iconic! 🔥❤
BTW there's a really great documentary about/from Brian Welch about becoming a Christian & overcoming his addictions. It's called "Loud, Krazy Love", definitely worth checking out.
Saw them in concert....Soooo loud!!
You are in Bakersfield?! Wow. I started watching you a few days ago. I am living even more obscure in Ridgecrest.
Oh no! Lol that’s worse!
My neighbor was at this show he said it was ridiculous
Korn songs to check out.
Freak on a leash
Clown
Shoots and ladders
Falling away from me
Rotting in vain
Tearjerker
Definitely over maby300 thousand I’d say Korn always rock the house
Imagine a tour of
Slipknot/Lamb of God
Featuring:
Parkway Drive
Gojira
Cannibal Corpse
Or
Rage Against the Machine/Korn
Featuring:
Meshuggah
Exodus
Infant Annihilator
Those would be two of the most brutal tours of the decade
I'm glad you didn't start with their song "Daddy" 😂, seen some other reactors start with that one & had no idea.
Shame on whoever recommended that first lol
400k apparently!
“There must be 10, 15, 20 (thousand) people in that crowd.” You really had no idea, did you? 😂
Nah was just a joke
So glad I was alive during the 90s, we did things a bit differently lol
Kid rock was good at this show too
I was 10 people from the stage during this 🤘
I was in there somewhere!
That is called a utility kilt!
Netflix Woodstock 99 You’ll know all about it
He’s wearing a kilt!
Actually around 250.000 people there.. 😂
Awesome +
more of 250k people right there
Lol youre guessing like 10, 15, 25 thousands people. Lady they are like over 100,000 crazy fans😂
I'm pretty 430k people there
It was about ½ a million people there.
He's wearing a Scottish kilt.
Really dammmn
That song any time anywhere live is off the Hook
we all are into
You've got a keenly sophisticated taste for excellent music! Korn's singer, Jonathan, is Scottish (like me) and he is wearing a leather kilt. Ive got to get me one of those! That satchel he's wearing around his waist is historically called a "sporan" (which is ancient Scottish/Gaelic for "fanny-pack"). I loved your critique of Megadeth's "Holy Wars - The Punishment Due" and I would LOVE to see you react and comment on another Megadeth song, "Ashes in Your Mouth" or, if you prefer, "Hangar 18". Thank you for the meaningful distraction!
I thought he was American
Thanks!
Covid never said hello to us till 2019 this was in 1999 lol
Before social media and people recording live shows on their phones 😂 I haven’t been to a live show since Slayer in 2009.
U should do a korn marathon
I LOVE YOU!!!😘❤❤❤❤❤ I
Never hear of em ? And from Bakersfeild , that's like being from Iowa and never hearing of Slipknot
Ur gonna say Covid hello when Covid was 20 years later😂
shoots and ladders by KoRn
Not a cell phone in sight.
💘
Esse foi o maior bate cabeças da história humana no planeta terra❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Its ok, KoRn is old young lady... Enjoy
“Fanny pack and a skirt” wtf 🤣🤦🏻♂️
