    Awesome review! I didn't know that the walls could be shortened. This was important to me because I wanted to mount the RTT mid height only.

    Thanks man. I love it as well. As for the bed rack. I built it myself. Most people get bed racks custom made for tacomas to fit their needs. If you have never welded its a great first project to start on. If you don't have the tools to make one, find a shop that can. They are super easy to make and generally cheap. Under 300. Max tubing size you can use is 1.5''

    Yes, I'am definately making my own rack for my Jeep. Might buy an aluminum one for my Ford truck though. You've got a great set up.

    there are some interior video's for the CVT's on the Discover share inspire channel. nice demo, i just ordered a Tepui for my 06 taco, fairly similar. I'm hoping i can mount it on my roof and have the annex cover my 6 foot bed.

    Very well composed and informative!!!! Thanks!! I went through your TH-cam channel and didn't see a video of inside. do you have any? Like a walk through?

    • @jakboling
      @jakboling  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't, sorry. I will make one this summer though as well as an awning video and a rig walk around as i have had some requests for one. Stay tuned.

    Thanks for posting the video. I am definitely looking forward to receiving my CVT. The only question that I have is why not just attach the floor to the Annex before attaching it to the tent? It seems like it would be much easier that way unless there is an issue that I am missing.

    Very informative. Love your Toyota! I ordered my Mt. Shasta, yesterday. I want to use mine over the bed of my Jeep CJ8 Scrambler, and also my F350. Where did you get your rack that the tent sets on? I don't want my tent up high, catching wind as I drive. Thanks

    Thanks for the video. I have the standard (not extended) annex and it does not have zippers to attach. How would you recommend installing the standard annex? We tried for a few hours this weekend and were unsuccessful at getting the edge fed through all the extrusion channels.

    • @jakboling
      @jakboling  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bob Preis I have never setup a smaller one. I am willing to bet you just slide it into the channels of aluminum if there is no zipper. or you need to put the zipper part in.

    • @BobPreis
      @BobPreis 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monte Nickles I called CVT about it. They recommended prying open the extrusion channels a little to make sliding the smaller annex easier. They also recommended a silicone lubricant and using a hammer to smash the first inch of plastic tubing that slides into the channel. Smashing the tubing helps feed it into the channel to get it started.
      I'll give it another shot this weekend but a zipper sure would be easier!!

      Bob Preis how is the standard size wise? I’m 6’/220 and have 3 kiddos age 4,8,10. Would we fit ok or should I look at something larger

    Hi, great looking tuck! I was wondering if you could tell me where you got your gas can and spare tire carrier? is it a swing away system allowing you to still utilize the truck bed and hatch? I'm an avid climber and spend a lot of time down dirt roads where a truck drawer system under a shell is a must. I was thinking of also getting a CVT tent, and saw your wheel carrier and was very interested in where you got it, and who makes it!!
    Thanks

      Thanks man.
      The rear bumper is a custom one off by Elite Offroad. It is a swing out. I added the jerry can and it also has a folding table so that when its open i have more space then just the tail gate. Works great as my kitchen haha i have a CVT awning opening off the back of the truck to cover it. Sadly the bumper is a one off and Elite Offroad never made another one and doesn't make bumpers anymore. CBI makes several variations though that are great quality. I just got the jerry can from the hardware store in my town. A better metal spout one has replaced it now however.

      Monte Nickles
      Great thank you! I'll check around, Elite Offroad makes bumpers, just no swing away option. Trying to decide if tubular rear bumper or steel plate is better option. I do like the tire swing away look and obvious benefits...CBI's option for a swing away looks very sturdy no doubt, but also very bulky and potentially heavy. Thoughts on this?

    • @jakboling
      @jakboling  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheCatOnTheCouch Sorry if i didn't clarify that in the first reply but Elite offroad no long makes bumpers period. Sadly. I love my plate bumper but tube is very strong. Yes any rear bumper with side protection like mine and especially a swing is going to weigh a LOT. Mine is about 140-155lbs without the spare tire and jerry can. You will need to have rear suspension that can cope with the additional weight.

    Can you fold up the tent and annex so you don't have to pack them separately?

    • @jakboling
      @jakboling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was never really ever able to do that super successfully. However, I had a friend that was able to do that. I think the difference is you either leave your bedding inside, or the annex on. That said, if you get a newer Summit series I doubt you can since the cloth is so much thicker.
