- There are a lot of opinions floating around the internet about Roof Top Tent (RTT) Annex's. Honestly there are as many opinions as there are types, that being said I will do my best to articulate all of the commonly held opinion's!

That was a great video . I learned so much from you. I'm living in a resort town on the tip of New Jersey for the spring and summer and fall and I want to try to live in a rooftop with an Annex on this piece of land that I can live on to save myself 1200 bucks a month.

I have this on my Chevy 2500HD, so the annex didn’t reach the ground - I contacted Roam - it’s not on their website, but they sell a 12” extension for the walls of the annex. It zips on the bottom of the walls before zipping the floor. Well worth it if you have your tent high.
During the rain, annex rooms can get wet floor fairly easy. If your tent isnt on a very high vehicle, annex room wont be tight and will sag causing more problems in wet weather. Otherwise they are great. Maybe put tarp over annex in the rain and add a tarp underneath it
That's why I always used to put a towel down.

Does your dog sleep in the annex? I am exploring getting a roof top tent (stepping it up from my Gazelle ground tent) I need a place for my 80 pound German shepherd dog to sleep.

I have a half bed rack height from victory4x4, would an annex work with that or would it look weird and be bunched up?
