    I’ve had some questions regarding the tonneau cover I’m using for the truck. For my long bed, I’m using the trifold tonneau cover by Tyger. It hasn’t leaked yet and fits well with the rack! amzn.to/2M1898O

    We bought the CVT Rainier Pioneer series RTT and took it on a 9 day trip. It kept us warm, dry, and extremely comfortable. The only issues we had were condensation underneath the mattress (we were camped on the Oregon Coast and encountered a few rain storms) and some stitching on the canvas that came loose. We stopped by CVT in Bend on our way home and upgraded to the Summit series (includes anti-condensation pad that goes underneath the mattress - I would recommend this upgrade for your Pioneer series). CVT’s customer service is top-notch and they stand behind their product 💯 Enjoy your new RTT!!

      @@KrokemOutdoors thanks man, i'm curious how you think the truck rides after weighing it down with gear and putting the larger tires on, do you think the trd pro suspension is worth the money and would you do it in hind-sight? I'm leaning towards one so i dont have to worry about underneath mods right after purchase. Thanks

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick Barnes I initially wanted to get the trd pro, but there wasn’t one available , so I settled for the trd or. With that said, I didn’t notice any major negative effects in suspension. What I did notice is the decreased gas mileage. The bumpiness and comfort on the road depends on how inflated my tires are as well (slightly softer when around 33 psi compared to 40 psi). But from what I understand, the trd pro’s fox shocks give the truck a bit more comfortable ride. If you don’t feel like putting in any after market parts underneath, I would definitely go with the pro. As for my truck, I do plan on upgrading the suspension a little later down the line 👌

    @richardjones990 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just a beautiful RTT. The Annex is icing on the cake. Perhaps you could install four Electric Linear Actuators to raise the platform enough to take the sag out of the annex. RV leveling blocks or wedges could be used to level your truck during camping. In gusting winds that approach from the sides, it could be possible to rock the tent enough to make it uncomfortable to sleep. RV stabilizers could be used to limit chassis movement. I think you would only need two on the rear of the truck. All in all, a fantastic tent.

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Richard Jones I’m not tech savvy enough to install actuators , but the leveling blocks are a great idea. My other alternative is to try to fold it all around (kind of like rolled up sleeves ) . I Appreciate the suggestions!

    That thing is awesome, I would get one but first I think I need a truck lol! For the holes I would honestly just stuff spare clothes in them, duct tape might work too but then you might have to deal with a sticky mess in the summer.
    I drive a little 2-door Honda Civic that I take on most trips and let me tell you, it is a struggle but the faces people make when they see me rolling into some of these rougher areas are hilarious! Some logging roads out there are in terrible condition especially for a little car like mine but occasionally its small size actually comes in handy. Nevertheless I really am hoping to get a truck eventually, whenever my dad let's me borrow his truck I realize how much better it is.
    BTW, I never thanked you for the spicy ramen! You definitely weren't playing it up for the camera when you made that video. I haven't been able to finish a bowl in a sitting but it turns out my mom loves them hahaha.

I'm looking at a similar set up, would prefer the annex, but probably not going to elevate my rack to get the base of the tent to the recommended 78-80". Has it worked out having it all set up that low or should I just skip the annex? Thanks!

    • @KrokemOutdoors

      Ryan Cannady there currently isn’t a real fix for the sag, so I’d have to put the truck on ramps, but I haven’t done that. After trying it out once, I’ve never used the annex. If you’re gonna keep the mount height low, then it may be a good idea to forego it, unless you really want to use he annex despite the height. 👍

    Can I ask, what did you do to black out your stock wheels? Paint? Powder coat? Vinyl kit to cover the machined faces?
    I’ve been obsessing over these tents since a friend at work out one on his sequoia.

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan White I used plastidip on the wheels. There are some areas I would advise against using plastidip on, but wheels and emblems I think are safe

    How heavy is it, if mounted on the roof or shell would it make the truck unstable

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Seminatore it’s about 200 lbs for the tent and annex. I’d say it all depends on what type of rack system you have, and if using a shell, if the shell can hold at least 500 lbs ( tent plus people)

    Please tell me you did a install video too? I'm thinking I might just go that route as well since I sold the jeep camp trailer. Did you buy from a local dealer or direct from CVT? Also have you snagged the anexx on the Crazy Beaver or no worries? What is your plan for interior heat? Love, love, love your set setup and dam that tent looks rugged AH. Great video as always :)

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robert Cgraggen- NW SELF RELIANCE & OUTDOORS I did not do an install video, but let me know if you have any questions during yours (if you decide to get one). You sold your camper? Dude that thing was awesome. I drove to Bend and bought it there, really friendly people there. The annex hasn’t snagged on the shovel yet, fingers crossed. I’ll probably use the mr heater and make sure it’s well ventilated inside! Thanks Rob, it definitely feels rugged and the build quality is there. Let me know if you pull the trigger and get one!

      @@KrokemOutdoors yeah.....i sold it....while I was out adventuring this past summer there were spots that I could not access due to the nature of it being a trailer.....so now moving forward and I have been thinking about the RTT and now that I see yours :) it really has my mind made up. Looks like I will be driving down to Bend after my rack gets delivered. I was also thinking the Mr. Heater for heat for you too, but I think I would buy a usb fan to use along with it. Also the sell a shovel tip cover for the KB , like 15 cannolis or so, no headache in the long term. Yes, definitely will let you know when I get one. Oh that American patch on your Trasharoo is sick!!! Also, towing 800 pounds of trailer and gear vs 120 pounds of tent, the gas savings alone.

    • @KrokemOutdoors
      @KrokemOutdoors  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Cgraggen- NW SELF RELIANCE & OUTDOORS oh yeah that makes sense. With the rtt you definitely wouldn’t have to worry about the trailer making it in a terrain only your Jeep can. Let me know once you’re all set up, perhaps we can all do a trip one weekend👍

      I have lived in Cuba and Africa (Few months at a time ). It is common to spare your sleeping area before going to bed. Even with a bed tent we sprayed before 30/60 minutes before going to bed. Cuba they used a spray they claim was organic and not harmful. For people that live in heavy mosquito areas would that work
