Today I am looking at the tactics that we have used in the quite amazing Journeyman Save. Records have been broken at will and 28 trophies have been won to date.

Thanks Phil! Looking forward to the Ipswich save now to see how you get on with the 41221 / low block. In your original 41221 video for Fm24 you said you couldn't get it to work, but you've inspired me to try it now. I'm currently using it at Palace and a standard line with a balanced mentality can be incredibly effective too.

Great content. One question when you move the 41221 to different blocks do you adapt mentalities, player roles team instructions? What have you done in the journeyman save. I would find more detail with how you adapt the blocks very insightful.Thank you.
In the Journeyman save I adapt the blocks according to the opposition I am playing. Just watching one of the episodes will help you with that...the more you watch of course the more you will understand what I do. In general I change mentality when I want to change the balance of risk and that will depend of course of the situation in the match ....do I need to attack or defend more.

I use the 3 back but do 3 4 2 1 might change to 3 4 1 2 ( use two wingers)
It's good fun to try things out....sounds interesting!
Which tactic is the best you used out of all 3 ?
That is a very good question...and the answer is I always used the one that best suited my team at the time. I have recently designed a new way for Newcastle to play which is completely different. They will now play in a 4231 system which hopefully will allow them to press and play higher up the pitch. On paper it looks to suit them a lot better, Choose the one that best suits your teams ability.
