@@richard_M7116 not concerned. As of late players who leave Liverpool end up in limbo or becoming irrelavant. Fabinho, Wijnildum, Henderson, Mane to name a few. There's no club like Liverpool. Liverpool have shown in the past that they can easily replace players and, if needed, we are not afraid to spend big money to do so. Don't care if Trent Alexander Arnold leaves either. He can easily be replaced as well in a Slot system. We also have a good youth system
I think Nunez's influence is being heavily overlooked. He drops back and helps the whole spine of liverpool flow, the fact he's got pace to race from the back and take on the opposition it opens so much space for us to attack
100% not enough respect for Nunez underrated legend. People only see goals which I guess is understandable as he is a striker but his numbers are not that bad just needs to bag a couple more but he provides many assists too people forget!! Surprisingly very good passing at times I like it!
I think be humble is a bit exaggerated. We did not expect much from Slot first season, especially when our only signing was Chiesa. Still agree with your point tho💪
Why though? They were learning the new system anyway and just played quite poorly (which they have in other games they’ve won)… If they’d have beaten Forest they wouldn’t be doing as well..?? You can’t say that can you,
I thought the bigger tactical change at half-time was telling Conor Bradley to ignore Mbappe completely. He pushed up straight away into the inside-forward position and Van Dijk could suddenly hit a crossfield pass to Salah in space. The overload that allowed Mac Allister to score wasn't just on the left side, it was on the right too. Bradley on the inside with Salah on the outside meant that Mendy had no idea who to cover; he wasn't close enough to Bradley to stop him playing the pass back in to Mac Allister, who scores, after Bradley himself had nearly scored a minute earlier with a free header. This can only have been a Slot instruction; I can't believe that any sane right-back would decide to leave Kylian Mbappe unmarked but Slot must have seen that Mbappe was never going to chase Bradley backwards and decided it was a risk worth taking.
And this is why id say Mbappe is over-rated. Yes, he's technically and physically briliant. However, he lacks either the work ethic or understanding to fulfil his tactical duties. Yeah, staying upfield might mean you get a good ball on the counter, but that ball is unlikely to come when you're team is overloaded in their defensive half, dominated in midfield, and thus at penned back.
@@4thzone697 Mbappe has gotten used to simply not helping to defend at all, both at PSG and in the national team. Even his (rare) pressing is lazy and unconvinced. I really don't think he's willing to put in the work.

Should do an analysis on Nunez. Every rival fan seems to be hung up on him not scoring many goals, whilst completely overlooking the fact that he's essentially become the new Firmino. Sure, he's not doing the no look passes or cheeky flicks in the box, but he's the link between the midfield and the attack. Amazes me how anybody can think that Liverpool have managed an 8 point gap at the top of the Premier League table and gone top in the UCL after slapping Real Madrid, whilst apparently carrying a "sHiT aNdY cArRoLl" passenger. It's silly.

Bradley pushing into the right half space was the biggest change in the second half, not Robertson being slightly higher up (mainly due to Madrid not being able to get out there own half)
Your expectations are fair but, for those of us who have been watching him for a while, we knew differently. He was on loan at Bolton last year and he played every single game and was voted their young player of the year and player's player of the year. Their manager said he was one of the best young talents he had ever seen. It's pretty clear that he's going to be one of the best right backs in world football in a few years.
Curtis Jones has been an absolute revelation … between himself and Gravenberch, the team glues together incredibly well… to the point Rodri does for City. Well done, you Scousers
As a Madrid fan, I believe the team's primary issue lies in the absence of a cohesive system for pressing, possession play, and building from the back. This challenge largely stems from Ancelotti's philosophy, which emphasizes giving players the freedom to make their own decisions, often leaning on mid or low-block defensive setups and counter-attacks. While this approach has its merits, it feels outdated for a club of Madrid's stature and has frequently resulted in inconsistency in our performances. With all due respect to Carlo and his remarkable achievements, I think the time has come to bring in a coach who embodies a modern, dynamic style of play akin to that of Pep Guardiola or Jürgen Klopp. Xabi Alonso is an excellent candidate for this role. His philosophy emphasizes proactive play on both offense and defense, ensuring his teams are assertive rather than reactive on the field. His approach would infuse Madrid with the intensity, aggression, and determination needed to achieve consistent performances and maintain dominance at the highest level. But kudos to Liverpool and the way they are playing, it's well deserved!
I think Bradley should just own the #84 now like Trent did. He's pretty special. Bottom line, if Bradley continues like this, we would hardly miss Trent
Conor Bradley is the man, that tackle on Mbappe sent him back to PSG! 🤣 Kelleher the best 2nd keeper in the world, I want him to keep playing so Ali can rest and we don't rush him!
I really enjoyed that analysis mate. I was at the game and while I was listening to your analysis i remembered those moments so enlightening thanks great job
“Inherited a side that was losing its way”? Don’t agree with that - they had a very good season last year, had a rebuilt midfield, had a lot of injuries, and fell away in the last month. A bad end to a tough season isn’t indicative of some sort of systemic failure that you’d need to see to say that a team had lost its way. Saying that, the new guy is impressive.
When you think about how easy Slot has taken this team despite not taking any action in the transfer window You realise that KLOPP IS THE REAL MAN For leaving a quality team behind to work with
It's not confusing really. In Dutch "ch" is always pronounced as a "g", unless it's a foreign loanword (like "batch" or "hachee"). Also, Gravenberch is an alteration of Gravenberg, meaning The Count's Hill.
Along with getting Robertson further up in the 2nd half, it was obvious that Slot took advantage of Mbappe not tracking back by telling Bradley to push up and underlap more in the 2nd half - it isolated Salah vs Mendy and the result of that was Mendy tiring and giving away a penalty and getting subbed immediately 😂 As well as Bradley getting into those positions on the edge of the box that resulted in his assist and shots.
Love your tactical analysis, esp with how Slot adapted after half-time. It seems like that's what Slot does, Liverpool always play better in the 2nd half after the tweaks he makes... and the 2nd half is the most important half. What a manager we have!
It's fascinating what a brillant tactical mind can achieve with great set of players. I knew Slot was tactically sound in Feyenoord but never thought he could implement his thoughts on our players so quickly. They took his coaching like duck to water.
What nobody seems to mention is the fitness of the whole Liverpool team seems to be on another level. They are not just overpowering teams tactically, they are blowing them away physically. They made a Madrid side containing some of the absolutely best players in the World look tired and old. Not just Mbappe, but Courtois, Valverde, Rudiger, Mendy, Modric, Bellingham all World class. Asencio, Camavinga, Guler, Brahim well respected players also. Liverpool outmuscled, outfought, dominated Madrid. I thought Nunez's early off ball tussle with Asencio showed the dominance. At first I was raging that Asencio should be off for the clear punch until eventually spotting the subtle first punch Nunez threw. The ref got those two yellows right but Asencio was really lucky not to be off with Nunez laughing his ass off for the rest of the game. Mbappe next, upside down. Ancelotti at half time "We're in trouble here, boys". City should be bricking it.
I think Real Madrid prioritised stopping Salah (& with Mbappe not tracking back, Bradley was able to push forward & support). It really is crazy how Slot manages the second half of games. Up the reds ❤
"... splatters him with a sliding tackle with all the vim and vigor of a much older boy, in a bad mood, playing against his little brother's friends." *chef's kiss
Describing Conor Bradley's tackle "With all the vim & vigor of a much older boy, in a bad mood, playing against his younger brothers friends". I feel seen. 😂
Great to see Liverpool beat Real convincingly, but concerning to see them run themselves into the ground in a match they didn't really need to win, right before a game which could be a title decider this Sunday. Bradley and Konate injured is a huge loss. Trent is just coming back and Gomez doesn't offer enough going forward. Konate is perfect for shutting down Haaland.
We were playing Madrid, in the Champions League. They have beaten us 7 out of the last 8 times we've played them, including two finals. And it was't a dead rubber either. Yes, we have three easier Champions League games on the cards. But the higher up the table we are now, the more we can rest players during the December fixture-pile up and in January. Injuries can occur in any game, against any opponant, or even during training. The form we are in, and the quality of players we have as both first team and backup, against City in the form they are in, and at Anfield. As long as the fans don't go into the game thinking it's a walkover and turn up at Anfield, it's City who should be scared. The fact we beat Madrid means Anfield is going to be a cauldron on Sunday and not an anxious mess, which is exactly what we need. Wins breed wins etc etc
Adam I think that's the best video of yours I have seen - your analysis was spot on and your enthusiasm was almost dripping from your pores lol Thanks buddy!
We saw Liverpool in contention for the title up til maybe the final 8 matches last year after having a rash of injuries, curious decisions, and Jurgen’s retirement announcement. It’s no surprise to us Liverpool fans. Yes, Slot has developed some players further and instilled a better balance in the side but we knew how good these lads are.
Klopp reshaped the entire team for him. Any manager who walked in that team, didnt have to rebuild anything. Just shows how visionary klopp was for the next guy
What Nunez does off the ball is just as important. He's just chaos, he drags defenders in, he tracks back, and he doesn't complain. Yes he needs to finish but he's a massive influence in our game
Here's an idea: INTENTIONALLY set your full backs up _slightly wrong,_ and maybe a little more defensive-minded than necessary at the start of the match. Opposition gains confidence and becomes over-confident / complacent. *THEN switch to the playing style your players are most comfortable with.* And score. :)

A lot of people have spoken about Jones lately, and he was my MOM. Best midfielder in the league. Totally press resistant. A leader, did you notice him telling off Gravenberch when he got a card for dissent?
He forgot to mention that Liverpool invited the press on VVD and Konate and got RG to shift into the space behind and that drew madrid's CMs like Modric further up, and since RG is an expert at playing with his back to the opponent, that got them running in circles all first half until they ran out of steam.

Thought that RIGHT BACK ACADEMY KID for LIVERPOOL was going to get absolutely COOKED by MBAPPE but props to him he held his own..
He held Mbappe's way more tightly than he held his own, lol
Curtis Jones has been an absolute revelation … between himself and Gravenberch, the team glues together incredibly well… to the point Rodri does for City. Well done, you Scousers
14:57 As a Liverpool fan I'm a bit worried about the City game. This is the first time in a while that City won't be favourites.
Well that worry went out the window, boys played great tonight
@@alangreen142 Indeed
Totally agree - can only add that Liverpool created good chances in first half too
Bradley is My MOTM
Many good performances but he had the biggest challenge, and he owned Mbappe
I think Bradley should just own the #84 now like Trent did. He's pretty special. Bottom line, if Bradley continues like this, we would hardly miss Trent
Don’t go too far mate Trent is there for his passes and crosses and Bradley is there for when they need some defence
FSG will think the same as it's £30k p/w vs £300k p/w
@@SonnyHorrocks bradley defence is more important to win than Trent's passing and crosses.
@ yeah but it would be sad to see a boyhood member leave but no pressure I guess
Allison - Kelleher - Jaros
Trent - Conor Bradley - Ramsey
Robertson - Tsimikas
Van Dijk - Quansah - Nat Phillips
Konate - Joe Gomez - Rhys Williams
McAllister - Endo
Gravenberch - Bajcetic - Morton
Sobozlai - Curtis Jones
Salah - Harvey Elliot - Doak
Diaz - Gakpo- Chiesa
Nunez - Jota
Is Ramsey not at Derby?
Thanks again for the good attitude! I really enjoy watching these videos!
The team wasn't losing its way. It was knackered from the number of games it had played.
Gravenberch and Bradley cooked the game
Such a quality video and tactical insight, thanks for sharing
Best tactical analysis about.
Conor Bradley is the man, that tackle on Mbappe sent him back to PSG! 🤣
Kelleher the best 2nd keeper in the world, I want him to keep playing so Ali can rest and we don't rush him!
I really enjoyed that analysis mate. I was at the game and while I was listening to your analysis i remembered those moments so enlightening thanks great job
Awesome analysis!! Well done Adam!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

we are sooo good i cant believe it. its crazy how it looks so simple and easy and yet every team we play end up looking like amateurs

We have Owen Beck on loan at Blackburn from Liverpool, what a player he's going to be under Slot!
He will be brilliant
@fayesouthall6604 he has been for us, his first game for us against Burnley! Motm, absolute class since
“Inherited a side that was losing its way”? Don’t agree with that - they had a very good season last year, had a rebuilt midfield, had a lot of injuries, and fell away in the last month. A bad end to a tough season isn’t indicative of some sort of systemic failure that you’d need to see to say that a team had lost its way. Saying that, the new guy is impressive.
When you think about how easy Slot has taken this team despite not taking any action in the transfer window
You realise that KLOPP IS THE REAL MAN
For leaving a quality team behind to work with
Great video!
Entertaining and bang on🔥

That confusion about whether Gravenberch is "berg", "berch", or "berk" is too damn relatable
Only Anglos would be dumb enough to say "berch".
It's not confusing really. In Dutch "ch" is always pronounced as a "g", unless it's a foreign loanword (like "batch" or "hachee").
Also, Gravenberch is an alteration of Gravenberg, meaning The Count's Hill.
Makes it more confusing@@PropagandasaurusRex
Easy to remember: the ch is pronounced the same as the G in bergkamp.
@@PropagandasaurusRexwe got used to pronouncing Ruud Gullit as Hullit, we’ll get used to Gravenberch as well. Cheers! Thanks for the explanation.
Along with getting Robertson further up in the 2nd half, it was obvious that Slot took advantage of Mbappe not tracking back by telling Bradley to push up and underlap more in the 2nd half - it isolated Salah vs Mendy and the result of that was Mendy tiring and giving away a penalty and getting subbed immediately 😂
As well as Bradley getting into those positions on the edge of the box that resulted in his assist and shots.
Love your tactical analysis, esp with how Slot adapted after half-time. It seems like that's what Slot does, Liverpool always play better in the 2nd half after the tweaks he makes... and the 2nd half is the most important half. What a manager we have!
I think that this is Liverpool’s year to take it all! They are brilliant!
Amazing analysis. Thorough and detailed, great job
A mountain out of a mo salah, clever one adam,
It's fascinating what a brillant tactical mind can achieve with great set of players.
Also Salah, blindsiding Mbappe, nicking the ball, passing to Nunez then creating that break for the first goal chance - what a move!
At Feyenoord his players were also physically top, winning many games in the last 15 minutes.
I think Real Madrid prioritised stopping Salah (& with Mbappe not tracking back, Bradley was able to push forward & support).
It really is crazy how Slot manages the second half of games.
Up the reds ❤
Very good analysis. This seems to be the best of these tactical analysis videos.
"... splatters him with a sliding tackle with all the vim and vigor of a much older boy, in a bad mood, playing against his little brother's friends." *chef's kiss
ok but what does this have to do with Mbappe turning on the break dancing in a football game?
10:43 Subtle Pep Guardiola reference? "... there's a lot of people scratching their heads right now ..."
great analysis - love the detail on Bradley. Amazing that Slot goes on to not play him or in-form Jones and they destroy City.
Anyone actually dutch can correct me, but i believe the ch at the end of gravenberch is similar to the ch in loch.
That is correct.
@@opadaafdank je well jonge!
Yes.
yes + the first letter g (if you take the easier accent from the south of the Netherlands) - the r after the g may be tough?)
After the past 3 RM results, there's no way we didn't need to win this game.
Just think after the second goal we could have killed the game and wasted time instead of charging around getting injured
They might just be fit enough to make it back for the City game but Idk
Thank you..very informative and entertaining as well! YNWA
Adam I think that's the best video of yours I have seen - your analysis was spot on and your enthusiasm was almost dripping from your pores lol Thanks buddy!
I love the analyst and break downs on this channel
We saw Liverpool in contention for the title up til maybe the final 8 matches last year after having a rash of injuries, curious decisions, and Jurgen’s retirement announcement. It’s no surprise to us Liverpool fans. Yes, Slot has developed some players further and instilled a better balance in the side but we knew how good these lads are.
Love these videos. Great insight and humour.
I nearly, word for word, thought to myself today.... "Go on, go to Madrid Trent, no one's Arsed" 😂😂
Klopp reshaped the entire team for him. Any manager who walked in that team, didnt have to rebuild anything. Just shows how visionary klopp was for the next guy
Visionary for the fans too, we didn't even need to make up a song for 'the next guy' ha 😂
"if there is a problem you are worrying about and it just doesn't seem to be happening, then don't worry about it"
What Nunez does off the ball is just as important. He's just chaos, he drags defenders in, he tracks back, and he doesn't complain. Yes he needs to finish but he's a massive influence in our game
Great analysis, never watched the show before. I enjoyed it.
New sub to your channel. Bang on analysis my man.
Thinking about football like this is why Slot, who is same age as me, manages Liverpool and I'm sitting in a bubblebath with a beer watching TH-cam .
great video as usual, but i just wanted to say that you seem like a lovely person and I hope you have a great day and get bigger and bigger on youtube and in your career.
your performance today was terrific, top of the league for analysis and communication....

@anonim9862 yes, he's criminally underrated. Liverpool have the best midfield in world football right now, and Jones is pick of the bunch.

Love your analysis Adam keep it going
He forgot to mention that Liverpool invited the press on VVD and Konate and got RG to shift into the space behind and that drew madrid's CMs like Modric further up, and since RG is an expert at playing with his back to the opponent, that got them running in circles all first half until they ran out of steam.
Great video and breakdown 👍🔥
there once was a scouser - Conor Bradley,
played defense for Liverpool quite madly
one day his coach said "Mr. Bradley -
today you must stop Mbappe"
so Conor ripped Kylian a new one completely

This shows you how good Arne is tactically. So impressive how he immediately knows the problem and fixes it.
I look forward to every video with you, mate. You are, I think, the smartest, most natural, normal and funny analyst, all in one!
Attacking philosophy of Arne Slot: he found a way to overload his favourite zone 14 again, like always!
Arne Slot overload tactic using 2 fullbacks pinned down Madrid flanks and being aggresive off the ball really impressive, its like Klopp 2.0 👍
This is the place to come to actually listen about tactics and how teams tweek and react. Not like tge mainstream when they have clear favourites
