Me right now. It’s not because I’m insecure of it rly, it’s more because I can’t find a method to not get it frizzy! Because even if I do have curly hair, as soon as I go out it looks like a straight, frizzy mess.

    Reasons of frizzy hair :
    -lack of moisture
    - weather
-product buildup (using products that are heavy or using too much )
    -touching it too much
-protein overload or need of protein
    How to prevent it :
-add moisture using deep conditioner once a week ,
-squish conditioner into hair , detangle your hair when its soaking wet and squish it .
-add a lot of water when shampooing conditionning and putting products on .
-Protect your hair overnight and oustide (when its raining put it in a loose pineapple)
-clarify your hair if you have a lot of dirts once or two a month with sulfate countaining shampoo
-use right products for your hair and find out whats work right for your hair .

You cant, even with products or coconut oil, it stills get dry. Lots of time, we just tie it up or use clips but get a nice curly up do. Sometimes, I'll wet my hair again and just reapply more product but then that leads to product buildup :((( but cutting regularly is really the way to go. Long curly hair like the way this girl has it in the video isss way too much to deal with, costly and sometimes unrealistic (for me at least lol)

So teaching myself so I can teach my girls.

I started my return to curl journey a couple of months ago, after a lifetime of heat styling and chemical damage. My hair is not in great shape. I have tried several methods and today I found this video. It was wash day so I watched and went to work implementing all the tips. My hair is obviously still damaged, but my hair is so much less frizzy. I am absolutely so grateful. I don't look like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket and I can see my hair battling to return to it's proper natural state. Can't thank you enough for such a detailed and explained video.

  • @vickivaladez3138

Love your hair! In the part about humidity, the best defence for frizz is definitely having well-moisturised hair, but the hair isn't reaching out to get moisture from the air. The moisture is getting into the hair and disrupting the bonds within and basically making hair curl and zig-zag all over the place and swelling the cuticle which creates frizz. But you are totally right that healthier, moisturised hair is the best way to overcome frizz!

myself being a curly haired girl with lots of frizz, GET TRIMBS REGULARLY !! the ends of my hair were very dry when i didn't get trimbs regularly. i hadn't had a haircut in almost a year and my hair was incredibly dry, after getting it professionally done and trimbed, the ends of my hair were rather bouncy if that makes sense? they were back to life and very curly, the dryness of the tips of my hair had almost all gone away after getting regular trimbs every 1 or 2 months.

One of my teachers when I was younger used to joke that they’d always know when it was about to rain because my curly hair would always be way more poofy or frizzy than normal if it was gonna rain prob the humidity of rain caused it

Aaaa I live in a hot tropical country and out of my siblings I'm the only one who has a curly hair so growing up I've been insecure and would go to my barber when it gets long. Thank you for this cause some videos I watched are so confusing. This is so informative and straight forward

I've been doing the curly girl method for about a month and I love the results that I have had so far. My first-day hair is amazing, with a lot of volume and beautiful curls. I sleep with my hair in a pineapple (however I don't have a satin pillowcase and that might be my problem) either by the second day or third day, my hair is super frizzy and tangled. Typically the front doesn't look too bad but the back is just a huge tangly mess. I'm going to get a satin pillowcase and watch your video on how to correctly do a pineapple. Also are there any hairstyles you recommend for days you don't want to wear your curls down? I've been putting my hair in a claw clip but that might be contributing to the giant tangled rat's nest that my hair becomes. I'm on day three hair and I decided to brush it out but I hope to overcome my hair getting tangeled.

I brush my hair once a day for 10+ mins and the only way I can brush it is if it is wet and then dry it with a towel. But now I just take my shower, brush my hair and hop out without drying

You have slightly wavy hair. You have learned how to "train your curls" that's all.
I have exactly the same hair as you, (my thumbnail is products and straightening irons)
I have very long wavy hair, and because I always got spiral perms for about 13 years I decided to get the Bob cut you see in the picture.
I now have went back to my natural wavy hair that is very easily trained with product, diffuser, and scrunching.
Your hair is by no means that naturally curly.
IMO natural curls dry like yours after washing conditioning and using a pro vitamin B5 leave in spray to enhance the natural curl showing its shine and the definition without frizz.

Her hair is definitely curly. Curly doesn’t mean coily :)
Even if it isn’t naturally that curly, even if you use products to help your hair curl. It’s still curly hair
