Nicely done, I have a D8 also but when I attempted to do the automatic scan it did not recognize my 2004 Honda CRV. I had to manually input the VIN number. Do you have the same issue w/ your D8, I know that high tech scanners do not always work nicely in older vehicles.
Check your pins in the cable if all straight. That happen to me before and it won’t read the vin. But there are some cases that won’t read vin. It just annoying but you have to manually type it
