    A DIY video showing just how easy it is to remove the Porsche 991 exterior mirror, on my own 2014 991 C4S! Follow-along as I go through the entire process of removal and then reinstalling my Drivers-side door mirror. I don't show the same steps I went through to remove and reinstall the Passenger side, but it is nearly identical. Only difference being the position of the harness connector inside the door panel. I'll post a separate video for that one....
    I also posted this as a DIY on my blog: plenums.blogspo....

    Is it possible to replace the normal one with sport design mirrors ?

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is. A bunch of different parts, but the project is a common-one and there are a number of DIY articles, etc. to be found. I personally haven't swapped but check Rennlist 991 forum as I know others have. Thanks for watching!

    Well, as expected, the screw dropped somewhere in the door while trying to dismount the mirror from the door. Had to run to a hardware store just to screw something. Any idea how to retrieve it? Do you know how to remove the door panel?
    Funny thing is I don't think I needed to remove the mirrors, I just wanted to swap the housing for a carbon fiber one I bought on RL.

      +PashaJ removing the inner door panel is easy.... check out my other video for that! With the panel of you should be able to retrieve the screw.

    What glue did you exactly use so the bolt doesn’t drop?

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi- I honestly don't recall.... ! I would have probably used some Elmer's Rubber Cement that was sticky. I've also used some photo mounting glue dots before, and in the video it looks like one of those. Can't remember, Sorry. End of day, you just want something sticky or a socket that fits in the hole and is tight around the bolt head so it doesn't fall out. Thanks for watching!

      GTSilver thanks for replying. I will probably try to stick some cardboard and shape it like s tube.

    Do you by chance know how to remove the door handle on this car? Im having trouble with it.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul! Thanks for watching! To remove the door handle requires the removal of the interior door panel/card, release of the inner door handle opening cable, and removal of the lock mechanism from the interior side. Sounds worse than it really is, if you are at all comfortable with removing interior trim as shown in some of my videos such as "How to remove interior door panel" th-cam.com/video/VFQbGD0lP-U/w-d-xo.html. I do plan on uploading a video of removing the door handle, but no sure when I'll get to it (prep for wrapping the car in color-change). I also have the official factory Work Manuals if you want to DM me. Good Luck, and please subscribe if you haven't already!
