As a retired old geezer I get enjoyment out of your videos! You make us feel good about life and messing with our hobby stuff. Thank you and keep it up!!
Josh I really like your channel I find it very interesting i’am not a farmer but still enjoy your work i’am 73 years old and have cancer and I get a lot of laughs when I watch.but some people are just dumber than dirt with some comments that they make I don’t know how they get through the day without shooting them selfs in the head keep up the good work
There is always something to say about the diy'er. I'm glad you show the " mess ups ". It puts the humanity in your videos. Experiences true to life on videos, makes me enjoy your vlog. No fake stuff here!
I have owned a 1988 MF240 for 10 years and love the way it has foot rest up high to give you something to brace your feet on, taking stress off the lower back. I mow 3 acres every week in the summer. I replaced my seat with the same one and had the same issues when installing, so don't feel bad. Great tractor!
I custom mounted that exact same seat in my 1997 Max IV Amphibious 6x6 ATV and it made riding in it so much more comfortable! For the price it was a great cheap improvement!
I have a 1988 MF 240 which is very powerful and is easy on fuel. I mow 3 acres each week in the summer. Love the foot rest which is easy on the back when mowing for hours. I replaced my seat with the one like you have. I bought mine at tractor supply for around $100. Thanks.
Great video, they are $206 now on Amazon inflation lol. I looked at one of these for my Husqvarna lawn tractor, but didn't like being up that high, so I purchased a whole suspension set up and new seat $600. Cheers from Nova Scotia
I purchased the same one at my local Farm & Fleet for my Ford 4400. I love how it has the suspension feature, unlike the OEM one that mounted fast to the transmission housing (bounce, bounce, bounce). Giving me that little bit of extra height does really well.
Don’t be hard on yourself Josh, things can trip us up with most anything. I’m glad you found a better seat that will be kinder to your lower back. As a nurse, I’m sure your back can take abuse anyway. Glad you found it and got it installed. 👍
I just installed a new seat on my MF 1250 . It was a TICSEA Universal Forklift Seat with Adjustable Black,Safety Belt And Operator Position Switch. While it looked simple, not as simple as yours, it took hours to install. The most troublesome task was to install the travel rails on the seat rails. First there was NO instructions. Second the tolerance between the screws that attach the seat rails and the travel rail was so tight, I finally had to take a washer off the travel rail to get the seat t slide. The conclusion was much more comfortable seat with slides and has a built in seat belt. Like you say there are always ways to screw things up. Instructions would be helpful but leave it to Amazon to save $0.25 on paper.
Hi Josh I’ve been watching you on TH-cam for a few months now over in the UK. I have subscribed now as watching you is so much fun and my daughters have also. We now great each other with a good old “Wooooo” it’s gets a chuckle every time. I have to say your Massey 240 looks a great little tractor. So it’s a hello from the UK.
Stoney Ridge Farmer Hi Josh you have inspired me and my daughters to build a chicken coop which I’m doing right now. Me and my daughters watch you all the time now. Your farm is amazing and love everything you do. We have a small holding in the UK. wooooo. Thanks. Simon and my girls. Heather and Holly. 👍🏻😃
Just bought a new bucket seat pan, cushions, and seat bracket for my 1998 Massey Ferguson 231 tractor. All Sparex parts. I wanted it original as possible. $255!
Good video….looks like all my project processes. I spent an hour trying to free up what I thought was a locked up shredder gear box yesterday…turned out it was sitting on a mound and all it needed was to be left alone.
You have a good point, just wanted to give you a little grief. I really enjoy your videos and the life lessons and comments you bring to your videos is totally rad!! You rock Josh! Keep up the great work!
I'm really enjoying your series. I found you researching a possible land purchase in a year or two. I'm thinking more forestry than row crops, but I still get a great deal out of your videos.
I’m going to be installing a new rotating seat on my ‘71 Allis 190xt. Being 58 years old and spending 8-14 hours in a day in that tractor makes me a sore old man. My experience as a welder and fabricator will come in handy. Strong back… weak mind
Nice new seat... I need one that swivels for the backhoe, but this would be great for what you are doing in terms of bush-hogging and bouncing around in the field... Thanks for sharing !
Attach boy Josh. Happy wife Happy life. I've seen these seats at our local Tractor SuppyCo. Think I'll be getting one for my J.D. it's gotta help my poor ole back. Thanks buddy.
When first watching this I was mumbling "Skip the trivia," but you have some good stuff. All my projects, no matter how simple, become a pain in the @$$. I'm happy your walked us thru the REALITY of this. Also: While cranking down some bolts you reminded us that tractors have a lot of vibration. I think your unstated point was "therefore make sure these are tight or these bolts will fall out."
B. U. T. FULL tractor. Nice upgrade! Why aren't these seats "all the rage" in our rOuGh RiDiNg road-pickup-trucks? You're tractor has it. Big Rigs have it... Your description of the "new ride posistion" checks all the right boxes :O) Thank you for the video (even though I'm late to the party). Cheers from So.Calif, 3rd House On the Right.
you know what's super funny....I let my dad use this tractor...took it over to his house and he hated the seat!! He made me give him back the original horrible seat and he put it back on....can't see anything, more dangerous and harder on your back...but he didn't like it lol
That's one thing I like about your videos Josh, you show us all the possible ways to attempt to do something b4 showing us how to actually do it right. ;o)
Loved it, Josh! Love them all. I could see myself, doing the exact steps you did...lol! You should have flashed the clip of you tossing the instructions, every time you realized you misstepped! Funny! Thanks for your vids!
Wow! You have a shifter knob... I'm probably due for a bit of a restoration.... I don't have as many leaks as the last time when my tractor caught on fire from a batter/diesel fire, but I don't think it should be leaking as much as it does.
Nice. Don't worry, been in too many predicaments like that, lol. And you maintained your cool, at least on camera. I know I would have had some choice words to say. Thanks for sharing. Really good idea, nothing worse than a sore arse and back.
Stick to the vlog..I'll show ya the back saving miracle I found for my tractor seat!! Stops butt sweat and saves your back from being so stiff after a long day on the tractor seat! here is a link for ya: amzn.to/2GGcu9X When you look at it you wont think it's worth the money...but omg it sure is! I have one on my tractor and in my office chair...which I'm in about 5-8 hours per day!
Great video Josh I bought one of those off of EBay for like $80 looks real nice I haven’t put mine on yet but will soon and I think I’ll buy another for my little Satoh as well
Thanks for uploading another good video. It just shows that even "simple" jobs sometimes can take a bit longer than you originally think. I have just bought myself an old Masey Ferguson tractor, and I think I will also be upgrading the seat, as I do have a bad back to start with! I expect to have the tractor delivered sometime this week as it is down in Sydney and I am in a rural area 3.5 hours West of Sydney over the Blue Mountains here in New South Wales,(Australia). It will be interesting to see how much the towing company charges me for the pickup and delivery of my tractor.
All my simple projects take longer that they were planned and always cost more because I need something from the store to finish them. All part of the fun.
I picked up on brand new seat for $3 with shipping because the pu material had a small tear in the top its basically the bottom of your new seat with out the suspension
I have days where everything just works against me😁 Does that seat feel like it will support you side to side if driving on a hill side? I mow mountainous property and need more support. Thanks for the video.
Wow...watching videos of putting seats on...I never knew suspension and cushion was so important. I'm happy if I don't have to call my cousin to turn the key (on the Ford 3000). THAT SAID, my MF135 just has a thick metal seat that doesn't rust as fast as the Ford seat.
Looks comfy! Hope yawl doin well and Ya should do a vidja on the Blue Chevy.. Line it up next to the ole Ford. Em would b the "Mascots of ya channel lol
I have this same seat in yellow that I got from TSC. After one year, it is decomposing in the sun, turning into a sticky, gooey mess that ruins my clothes.
I've got a Massey Ferguson 245. My grandfather had a 240 like you have. Did you restore the MF 240 yourself? My 245 is in very good shape mechanically but I want to paint it and do a few other things to restore it to it's former glory.
HEY Josh, I noticed in an earlier video that 240 had the exhaust ran UNDER the tractor RIGHT?? I think that is how it comes from the Factory, which I very much dislike did YOU buy the kit to move the exhaust pointing UP. My 250 had the upwards exhaust it is BETTER IMO!!
The 240 has had the exhaust running upward since I bought it...I prefer it up as well...my dad has an old massey 35 with exhaust out the bottom back...
Don't beat yourself up too bad Josh. Modifying/upgrading ANY tractor = "Pain in the Butt". 'Stutter steps' are a 'given'. Especially with the 'universal' items. S-O-P.
Got the same seat for my '68 Sears Suburban $80 from TSC, to replace a plastic camouflage one that was 35. on clearance from northern hydraulics, I guess the camouflage wasn't sufficient to sneak upon any wildlife.
Just wondering Josh......how is the fart retention for the seat.....how many will it hold before you have to take it off....jump on it to release them.......320 here...thumbs up
I have the same design from TS on my MF65
As a retired old geezer I get enjoyment out of your videos! You make us feel good about life and messing with our hobby stuff. Thank you and keep it up!!

I have a MF 240 1988 and have mowed with it for 10 years. Love it. Easy on fuel and very powerful for it's size.

Your honesty is very refreshing. Thanks, great video.
Great classy video Josh! Not even one F- bomb or any other "modern" language. Including Wife, ALWAYS a smart move! God bless.

I just put the exact same one on my Ford 2600. Just bought my first tractor 2 weeks ago. Super pumped to start cleaning up the land

Just got a MF 35 and this is my first upgrade thanks for the link
I put the same seat on a Ford NAA, I hated that tractor until I put it on. It made it a lot nicer tractor to use.
Seems to be a great addition to the tractor for sure!

Josh, Once again immensely enjoyed your video. You make me laugh, such self-deprecating humor. Thanks!
You seem like a really nice person, very down-to-earth. Thanks for posting
Thanks
Get yourself a cordless impact driver with a couple 1/4 to !/2 and 1/4 to 3/8 socket adapters. You'll love it.
First time I am watching your video and liked it!
Great info and natural !
Thank you
Put the same type of seat on my fergie 135 28 years ago, the original one had rotted away. What a difference, change out the seat on your 135 as well
Hi Josh I’ve been watching you on TH-cam for a few months now over in the UK. I have subscribed now as watching you is so much fun and my daughters have also. Like a broken drum you just cant beat it. Heck of a deal.
thats what my kubota dealer and princess auto sells
This video helps me out because It’s time to replace the seat on my 1983 MF 250. I think this would work great for me.
I perfected driving a manual transmission on an old international tractor.. Good times.
Chuck Hixson it's pretty simple
Just bought a new bucket seat pan, cushions, and seat bracket for my 1998 Massey Ferguson 231 tractor. All Sparex parts. I wanted it original as possible. $255!
Good video….looks like all my project processes. I spent an hour trying to free up what I thought was a locked up shredder gear box yesterday…turned out it was sitting on a mound and all it needed was to be left alone.
great video. you showed us all the issues that we would have gone through too!!
good you can still laugh at ya self . and looks sooooo comfy too
You have a good point, just wanted to give you a little grief. I really enjoy your videos and the life lessons and comments you bring to your videos is totally rad!! You rock Josh! Keep up the great work!
Thanks John lol...might get the little impact out today on the ram truck carrier bearing!
Your right about that nothin ever goes right when you think everything will go right!
I'm really enjoying your series. I found you researching a possible land purchase in a year or two. I'm thinking more forestry than row crops, but I still get a great deal out of your videos.

Good job Josh..... very thoughtful......your wife can operate tool.....
Hi.... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
Nice new seat... I need one that swivels for the backhoe, but this would be great for what you are doing in terms of bush-hogging and bouncing around in the field... Thanks for sharing !

Thanks for the info. I just bought one from TS to put on my Kubota L295
You can weld a piece of metal to bolt that plate too some kind of bracket to mount it to
Great Video this Mr 👍

I have had that seat of my Agricat for a few years.....sure makes a difference on a crawler.
Thanks man, I was looking for the same thing for the ol 135
I think we'll be trying these on 2 Zetors. Thanks for the video.
welcome to the do it all three times world i invented, yes im a retired paint body guy, i didnt have issues at work, only at home oddly
That's one thing I like about your videos Josh, you show us all the possible ways to attempt to do something b4 showing us how to actually do it right. ;o)
Josh
I hear you On nothing ever goes right. I literally have to do everything twice sometimes three times.
Gut twin....
Loved it, Josh! Love them all. I could see myself, doing the exact steps you did...lol! You should have flashed the clip of you tossing the instructions, every time you realized you misstepped! Funny! Thanks for your vids!
Loved your video. It seems like every time I try some simple bolt on job it turns into a big ordeal.
I put a that new seat on my MF245 . It cracked all over when it got below freezing. It was strong enough just the plastic cracked when it was cold..
You remind me of me when it comes to reading instructions.
yep...not much of an instruction manual reader here lol
Justabout every job I do goes the same as this one did for you. Put it together then take it apart and start again.
Ron Larimer practice makes perfect! Lol
Sharp looking tractor and way to stay with it on the install!!
Josh thanks for the laugh. Spending 8hrs on JD 5065 or 5045 can be tough and it has a bouncy seat. At least the ones I've been using.
Stick to the vlog..I'll show ya the back saving miracle I found for my tractor seat!! Stops butt sweat and saves your back from being so stiff after a long day on the tractor seat! here is a link for ya: amzn.to/2GGcu9X

Excellent, humility is very important : )
Northern Tool has a suspension seat for about $100. I put one on my tractor and it works absolutely fine.
As always, good video!! FYI, the back of the seat is crooked. The left mounting bolts didn't slide all the way down in the mounting slots.
My right sides much shorter than my left side I like to get my lean on
Like a OG farmer with that gangsta lean. lol
Good video and it's very functionable.
Thanks for uploading another good video.

Like reading the instructions, super cool. Now order a ROLL Bar for this tractor. Good luck for the use of the tractor.
I'll have to agree, get a ROPS
Nice looking old tractor
Good Video , I got a n 87 M 250 that needs a seat, this looks good!!
So funny you kept saying "Pretty Simple". Then darn it lets try it again. Another good job.
Yep sometimes the most simple task can get ya in the boo boo......nothing is ever simple that's for sure!
All my simple projects take longer that they were planned and always cost more because I need something from the store to finish them. All part of the fun.
I know it's a tractor seat but I'm building a custom trike and I think this will be the seat I get for it
I picked up on brand new seat for $3 with shipping because the pu material had a small tear in the top its basically the bottom of your new seat with out the suspension
love that tractor i hope i can find one in missouri
Thats a really nice tractor
Beautiful tractor
Reminds me of me, the simplest task turns into a major ordeal :)
Good job Josh
Sweet ride!!! Looks Great!!
I have days where everything just works against me😁 Does that seat feel like it will support you side to side if driving on a hill side? I mow mountainous property and need more support. Thanks for the video.
yeppers...its' got supports on the waist line...much better than the original in my opinion...but you'll have to judge it for yourself
What do you use to de-grease your tractor under the seat area?
Looks comfy! Hope yawl doin well and Ya should do a vidja on the Blue Chevy.. Line it up next to the ole Ford. Em would b the "Mascots of ya channel lol

Nice seat! That will help on rough terrain.
On the MF135, is it diesel? What year?
Thanks for sharing!

That's a bute! 👍
Woooooo!🇺🇸🚜
You are awesome SRF!!!
Good
Lol, I thought damn that backrest is upside down!
I love the mf tractors. The 240 has the same tractor lay out with the gears and lights as the 245
Love it!! New video day!!
Awesome a new video. Thanks.
Hmm... maybe I can put one on my zero turn mower that I use for work.
Got the same seat for my '68 Sears Suburban $80 from TSC, to replace a plastic camouflage one that was 35. on clearance from northern hydraulics, I guess the camouflage wasn't sufficient to sneak upon any wildlife.

You made my day...I thought only I had days like this🤪
LOL glad to ablidge buddy!
