I put the identical seat on my Ferris Zero-turn when I bought it 3 years ago. That was the best upgrade I've done to equipment. No more sore back after mowing for 3 hours.
Thank you so much for video. I have had back issues my entire life, usually just put up with bad seats for as long as i can and then have to rest. This is nice for an option, I never thought about before.
It raises you up to a new seating position, but is very comfortable once you get it adjusted properly. The stock kubota seat was terrible and I could not put up with it anymore.
Thanks and you rock! Was looking at seats for our JD345 and you just sold us on it. Sad part is the wife gets more "seat time" on the Deere than I do, but she sure will appreciate it 1st time she mowes our acres.
I am very happy with the seat. It takes a while to get the setting right for the best ride and if your wife and you are different weights it will have to be readjusted as you switch out. Watch for a sale on it at northern. Thanks for watching.
Just ordered ours and yeeeeep. It was indeed on sale! Big diff btwn the wife and I and figured as such on the settings. I'm 200 and she's 5ft2" and maybe 120 soaking wet!!!! Issues you had with the base are "normal", but you did an excellent job figuring that out and modifying. Wife giggled when she saw end of the video and commented.... "With that beard he better be doing a part time Santa Claus gig during the holidays" !!! Keep the faith brother!
That is funny. Last year while my wife was having foot surgery I was in the waiting room and a young boy that must have been 4 or 5 walked up and was staring at me. He finally asked " are you the real santa " . I asked have you been good and the whole room got a kick out of it.
thanks for sharing this. I can my seat is starting to rip and I need to be thinking about a new seat. looks like the kubota seat is like 400 bucks and its nothing fancy about it. I may look at this seat as an option.
It is a very comfortable seat for mowing. Took me a while to get the weight setting right, but once it was dialed in the little bouncy BX smoothes right out. They usually have it discounted in the spring. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I have always wanted to do this on my BX and this video will really help when I actually change the seat.
Yes. The only thing someone told me my tractor is missing is a seat latch that it didn't come with. Ir has been a great seat and really helps my back. Thanks for watching.
Taking care of a back problem before it occurs. Very worth while. My lower back is giving me problems. I bought a Bowflex on Craigslist to help out. I had one before best physical fitness machine out there. Perfect for Physical Therapy.
That kubota seat was the worst tractor seat I have ever owned. The new one is very comfortable and eliminates the jarring of my back on bumps. Thanks for watching.
I bought a seat that looks just like this one from Rural King for my Kubota G1900. I think the only difference is that the Rural King one isn’t a suspension seat.
Definitely different if it doesn't have suspension. This seat has been a real back saver. It's like you just float over the bumps. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 the only thing I was meaning was the same is the pattern on the material and the layout. With mine out of the box you can for sure tell that the build quality isn’t as high as yours and doesn’t have the adjustment knobs on it. I think I paid $130 for this one but definitely an upgrade from what was on it. I’ve operated equipment with seats identical to yours and they’re amazing. If you spend a good length of time on the machine then it’s worth it.
That Michigan seat has a standard 11" by 11-1/4" mounting pattern which is available if you unscrewed the four clear plastic feet on the Michigan seat. Are you sure the Kubota doesn't use an 11" by 11-1/4" seat pattern?
There was no way to drop it in place and directly bolt it up at a comfortable angle on my model. It is a very comfortable seat and really works great once you get the weight adjustment dialed in.
well-jd's are no better either. but i have looked at them seats over the yrs too. but as big as i am--it would just bottom out anyway. so.........it would be the same riding then, as a plain seat. this summer i plan on trying out 2 little balloon air bags-that someone showed on a forum to use. and they are cheap to try-they replace the springs. good luck-and waiting to see how it does.
My deere has a very comfortable seat. The springs on it are much softer and it just fits right . The kubota seat sloped downhill and the springs were very harsh on my back. After mowing a couple of hours my back was aching. This one sits level now and floats with no jarring. In about 2 weeks mowing will start and I will have a better idea of how it performs. I would be interested in how your air bags work out.
both my deere's have hard rubber blocks to sit on. jd 2520 mcut and a x475. for the x475 i can get a way better seat, the x475 and above had the better seats on them. the air bags i want to try on my 2520. lots of fellas that are smaller than me.... have went the route as u did-with the same seat. they are very happy. except it raises u up about 2 inches-they just had to get used to it-too.
It is just a standard 82 degree countersink bit. Be sure to match the angle to the screw head you use because some heads are 90 deg also. I got mine on ebay but any hardware store has them. Thanks for watching.
I purchased it from northern tool, it is a model v-5300. I don't see it on their site anymore, it looks like they sell different brands now. It is an extremely comfortable seat once it is adjusted right. Thanks for watching
Very nice upgrade and the video is great to understand the customizations ahead of time. I'm considering doing this on my BX23. Might you have the seat brand/model so I make sure to get the same one?
It is a Michigan model V-5300 that I got at Northern tool. They usually run a sale late winter. It has been a real comfortable back saver for me. Someone told me that my tractor is missing some kind of seat lock that may need to be modified if yours has one. Thanks for watching,
By any chance you have a friend who has a Mahindra max 28? I'm trying to see if this seat will fit. You did a great job and I myself have a very bad back. Do a lot of snow removal for hours
No I don't. I can tell you that I have over 60 hours in this seat and love it. Just got done mowing for 6 hours and zero pain. It was worth it to me. Thanks for watching.
Kubota offers one with adjustable back and armrests for $800.00 but nothing with suspension. That bx seat is very uncomfortable after a few hours. The suspension seat is very comfortable once you get used to the new seating position.
My 7610 seat was the same way. I bought from Seat Warehouse, non-suspension, for $100. Kubota knows they had a bad seat on those models, but discontinued their inexpensive fix several years ago.
@@rickwyke1787 that sloped seat was the biggest pos ever designed. I popped for a good one from kubota which is now falling apart. I got 7610 also which is a beast
I wanted to buy another deere, but found that I could only afford a kubota when shopping. The deere did have a nice seat for $1500.00 more than the kubota cost. Thanks for watching.
I put the identical seat on my Ferris Zero-turn when I bought it 3 years ago. That was the best upgrade I've done to equipment. No more sore back after mowing for 3 hours.
I agree, this is a very comfortable seat once you get it adjusted properly. Thanks for watching.
Great video and very helpful for me in 2022, even though it was made in 2017! Helped me put on a Milsco V7300.
Mi seat is still awesome. Really a good addition if you don't have a perfect flat lawn. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Did you end up leaving the springs on the back of the seat? I left mine on to see how it feels.
Yes I did. I later found out my tractor is missing a lock that is supposed to keep the seat from tipping, Haven't missed it though.
Very nice upgrade brother.
Spending that much time each week in the seat, you need all the comfort you can get.
It is like having a new tractor that is fairly comfortable. Thanks for watching.
Thanks and you rock! Was looking at seats for our JD345 and you just sold us on it. Sad part is the wife gets more "seat time" on the Deere than I do, but she sure will appreciate it 1st time she mowes our acres.

It looks like the seat I have on my Snapper ZTR. I believe it is a 5300 and made by Milsco. Great choice. Very comfortable!
It definitely has been a back saver. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I have always wanted to do this on my BX and this video will really help when I actually change the seat.
It is a whole different seating position you have to get used to, but very comfortable once I got it adjusted properly.
A very nice upgrade!
It's a real back saver. Thanks for watching.
This is awesome. Now, do you still have the forward/back slide adjustment?
Yes. The only thing someone told me my tractor is missing is a seat latch that it didn't come with. Ir has been a great seat and really helps my back. Thanks for watching.
Darn, looks like this model seat isn't available anymore!
That stinks because it's a very comfortable one. Thanks for watching.

KUBOTA...KOO-BOW-TA.

NICE!
Thanks for watching.
Geez it's KA BO TA
Not this one. Thanks for watching.
kubota is the best plus they let customers put add ons and any stuff on it wich the deere here doesnt
I have been happy with tractors from both companies.
yeah both kubota and michigan seat companys are great wich thats were kubota gets all there different kubota seats from
The seat on my kubota was the most uncomfortable seat that I have had on a tractor. This michigan seat is extremely comfortable.
looking good nice job.
What a difference. Thanks for watching.

Wtf is a Kaboota?
Its a little tiny one. Thanks for watching.
Kubotas are cheap for a reason.
I wanted to buy another deere, but found that I could only afford a kubota when shopping. The deere did have a nice seat for $1500.00 more than the kubota cost. Thanks for watching.
