Damn, this is a pretty painfully realistic depiction of people in the same social group as a victim and an abuser. The "not taking sides" implies petty relationship drama, and blames the victim for speaking out against the abuse by making them out to be the pot stirrer. Sadly all too common, but it's scenes like this that really make me appreciate this show, because it frames people like that for being in the wrong.

This whole episode made me want to jump into the television and yell at everyone at that party. Alex really deserved a friend who could set her boundaries and I wish she had that support during episodes like 6, 7 and 8 but I'm glad she pulled through towards the end. This show was amazing and so accurate

And this is why you need to cut off your abuser and anyone associated ( that isn't your child) with your abuser. Because they will guilt trip you and sort of gaslight you to go back to your abuser. I love how both Ethan and Tana eat their words and finally realize that Alex was abused and you see the guilt on their faces when the truth comes out.

      That never really happens, though.

    Thanks for uploading.
I had a friend who I split up with and basically everyone in the friend group went with him. I tried explaining my side of the story to them but they didn't listen. They kept on insisting 'that's not about me, that's your issue with him, I'm not getting involved' meanwhile they never reached out to me and always hung out with him... as shown on Instagram.

Man this scene made me upset. On one hand I understand that they’re both Sean and Alex’s friends, but damn that’s like saying “it’s just relationship drama” and victim blaming Alex. Once things started to go good for Alex, Sean had to ruin it eveytime.

I kind of felt like this was the show's way of saying that women can be abusers too. The way she talked down to him like she was scolding a toddler. "Drink your juice and be quiet"? They announced that they were engaged to each other. but neither one acted happy about it. It looked like verbal abuse disguised as banter.. It was very uncomfortable watching how they interacted with each other.

That makes sense! Of course she would say she’s Switzerland, she’s an abuser just like Sean!

I bet they both felt so shitty when they realized how Sean really treated her

No they didn’t. They didn’t feel anything . They were all complete narcissists if it didn’t affect them it wasn’t happening. “I’m Switzerland”

Can you please upload the scene where they finally see how Sean really treats Alex? As well as when Alex comes back to the mobile home to pick up Maddy?

I'm not sure what to make of this episode. She lets her ex bring his (adult) friends to a child's birthday party, and then says nothing when they bring alcohol. She invites her mother, knowing full well that the woman can't control herself. At the end, when she gets evicted, I almost buried my head in my hands. Those women who rented her the apartment were really GIVING her quite a lot, and she had to ruin it all for herself.

Thats because Alex doesn’t understand that she’s alone in this. That even though she’s right to have left Sean, no one cares or cared about her enough to even understand her point of view. After this party I think she understood though.

I see your point, but to be fair, Alex wasn't going to host that party at her landladies' residence. It was them who insisted.
