    Remember. Seat belts only *slow down* the body. Seat belts *do not* fully restrain the body. If the airbag does not deploy, the body will slam face first into the steering wheel, dash or windshield, resulting in severe face damage and possibly broken neck th-cam.com/video/tfeu5i36RKw/w-d-xo.html

    Thank you so much we thought there was an error with our car but instead we just needed to sit on the seat

      Yes, same here. It turns on when one sits on the seat, but when you get off, it turns off due to no weight on the seat. .

    I wished you said the most important thing and that is the required minimal weight for passenger airbag. I have a small teenager. My car is C43 AMG. Do you know the answer Sir?

    I had once the error on an old e39 and wondered, whether the airbag will deploy or not.
    Unfortunately I slipped and fell in a small ditch, all relevant airbags deployed, including the passenger side, despite the error.
    It was a 1998 plate though.

      I remember the P2 Volvo platform of similar year. The way they designed the so-called computer network - interconnecting several car modules and systems - is you would get an Airbag light just for unplugging the radio head unit with the key in the ignition. It didn't mean the SRS functionality was affected.

    My dad sits on my passenger seat and he is over 200 lbs but the airbag light is still off. Is there a way to refresh the system so that the sensors can actually do their job?

      You can try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for ten minutes. After ten minutes press the brake pedal all the way down for 60 seconds. Then reconnect the terminal and start the car.

    Hello my friend, I want to ask you how to stop the airbag in the Kia Optima Hybrid 2013, I did not get a button, I searched the whole car? Thanks

    I have a 2011 Toyota Corolla LE and when I turn off the engine and there is no cushion or passenger on the front passenger seat that light flashes and has a lock 🔒 sign flashing I checked under the seat 💺 to see if any cables loose. It still flashes with engine shut off. Help

    • @Peppermint1
      @Peppermint1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest ask on a Toyota forum and don't seat anyone on the passenger seat until fixed - risk of permanent severe injury to face and neck even in low speed accidents

    I watched the video so I went I turned the engine on, sat on the passenger seat. It immediately turned on passenger airbag on light then turned off. I shut the engine off and the light kept flashing on and off with a car 🚗 and lock 🔒 flashing light. I moved the passenger seat 💺 front and back I looked under the seat to see no obstruction to any cables underneath no kinks no loose cables. I sat on passenger seat got off closed right car door still same flashing car 🚗 and lock 🔒 flashing. Help

    That is not true, my Honda CR-V belt locks in when in a crash.

    Please learn how seat belt works before saying some strange things like it is only slowering down. Make sudden and fast move forward and you will see how belt works

      I suggest you look online at videos such as "car crash tests". Observe the movement of the dummies: the belt doesn't lock them in place like in a rally car, rather the belt is using a tensioner to limit the movement of the body. What you are mentioning is the belt lock - when you pull on the belt quickly it locks then it appears to be 'stiff' - that's because by hand we cannot stretch the tensioner, however this tensioner gets stretched in a crash where the body forces with much increased force on the tensioner causing it to stretch and slightly release some belt length.

      Need to understand that seatbelts *do not* fully restrain the body in a car crash. If the airbag doesn't activate, the body will hit very hard the dash or the windshield, which will cause severe face mutilations and neck injuries. Have a look at the video linked in this comment. The airbag deployed late, and we can see how much the body is allowed to move forward despite the seatbelt. In other words, without airbag the body will slam face first into the steering/dash or windshield. Remember, seat belt only slows down the body, but doesn't fully restrain it. th-cam.com/video/miEWdQkLyEE/w-d-xo.html

    The light was on when you were in the seat for the first half of the video and then it turned off

    • @robertkellogg1199
      @robertkellogg1199 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it turns off due to no weight on the seat.

      No but he was on the seat as well in the beginning
