You should be the North American distributor, quality control director, 3D virtual collection guide or Shiragorav Blade Show booth concierge. The first part of the video explaining the tiers of production was very informative. Thanks bro.
Rockstead , Koenig, The Oz Roosevelt, CKF Evo 3 are all expensive on the secondary market. I believe the Koenig Arius is the most overrated knife on the market. I’m really looking forward to owning a Shirogorov knife. You gave an excellent breakdown of the knives. Thank you
Very interesting video! I have 5 Shirogorov’s. 2 Hati, F95NL, MEFP F95 and 111. These knives are absolutely flawless. I bought them all on the secondary for substantially less than new. I don’t know if they’re truly worth their asking price but definitely a good buy on the secondary
Totally agree and it seems Shiros aren’t as overpriced as they once were and the market has slowed a little bit on them. This is definitely a good thing so more people can enjoy them as they are basically perfect knives!
Besides the high prices, what do you think of Rusblade? Obviously I would consider Recon1 (better prices, authorized dealer, etc..) but their availability isn't as good. Is Rusblade reliable/authentic from what you know? Thank you for any insight you might have.
@@BenTramer as far as I know they are legit. With that said their prices are astronomical. Anything you are looking for it’s much easier to put a WTB thread on marketplace or something and get the knife you want
@@stevemathias8072 Thank you for the suggestion. Bladeforums is where you would suggest placing a WTB thread? Sorry -- I'm new to Shirogorov and have previously just carried a Sebenza and left it at that (stayed out of the forums and off TH-cam). Thank you.
Thanks. This is a nice overview. I agree about the packaging. It’s not a big deal, but it’s a bit of a head scratcher. My $25 Tangram knife had much nicer packaging than my two Shiros. Both Holt and Koenig have very nice presentation and packaging with their knives. I only have production models: a HatiOn and F3R, two ends of the size spectrum. I’ve also handled several other Shiros. I find the detent softer on the F3R than on the smaller knives. One F3R I tried was especially soft, although mine’s pretty good. The smaller blade of the HatiOn doesn’t close as quickly as that only F3R. Action is generally excellent, although I think it’s better on the Arius. Every Shiro I’ve held is amazingly well constructed. I’m sure the CDs are really impressive.
James Moore absolutely agree with everything you said and I definitely appreciate koenigs packaging and wish I had a Holt to compare, but one day. As for the CDs versus the production quality, it’s tough to compare it’s really more of a feeling. You can however see the step up in milling, looking at the clips or the chamfers around the edges. Although there are no sharp edges in any shiros the CDs are a different level of perfection
Very nice collection very classy set. Very informative I like shirogorov knives a lot but didn’t know much about the levels I have Hati f3 and I notice it doesn’t even compare to a couple friends knives that cost rediculusly expensive. thanks for info bro
Cool video, solid collection, mate, respect still you are missing out on a NeOn Zero and HatiOn Zero models, those two are my personal favorite EDC blades of all time, if everything is going to be fine by the end of the summer Im going to purchase another Shiro, a new Shiro design knife - F3 NS , that one is a fantastic, brilliant knife. Do you like a F3 NS model ?and I've got a question about the locking mechanism is it a frame or liner lock on F3 NS? Which one is better in your opinion - F95 Slim vs F3 NS?
Andrii A. You’re right and I will definitely be getting my hands on a Hation Zero in the future! F3 is a liner lock and yes the F3s are amazing, the fact you get full scales on both sides is a definite upside to have a liner lock. Ooh that’s tough, but I’d lean towards the 95 Slim due to weight, thinner blade stock, and something about full ti shiros that are perfection for daily use.
Steve Mathias, thank you so much for replying, I also like a F95 Slim just a little bit better as truly I prefer a clean , sterile, sort of ‘nudist’ look on a Ti framelock knife, monochromatic like Neon Zero, I liked that knife so much I’ve bought it trice, still have 2 of them, gave one to my dad as a birthday present, carry 1 on me everyday everywhere I go, the 3rd one is a brand new and unused , since I do use my knives as intended, cutting reasonably and with the prudence, still I wonder what happens if a person is really crazy, obsessed about a specific knife, then based on practical reasoning and current financial situation, the logical solution will be to grab himself another identical backup folder so while 1 knife gets dirty to get the job done as usual, the other blade stays out of sight, put aside for a rainy day as a hidden gem, meaning , now that brand new backup knife is affiliated with a sort of valuable investment depending on the brand, blade shape, materials, retail value et cetera, that can be sold if times are harsh, much respect for the insight into the world of shinny sharp objects) I appreciate your clear perception and wise suggestions on why you’d prefer f95 slim rather than f3 Ns, for me personally, I really dig the shape of the blade on F3 (similar to NeOn zero 8,5 cm but it’s thicker and generally bigger 9.5 cm) but design of that clean, sterile, nudist titanium handle scales which are so minimalistic and monolithic, there’s no unnecessary or redundant decorations, details, countering, thanks again for taking your time to explain things properly, Steve, and greetings from WestUkraine, from the City of Lion!!! Andrii A. Very nice! I am looking forward to handling one, I’m usually into larger knives but I find that I daily my crk small more than any other knife so I’m positive I’d enjoy either of the zero models. That’s right 2 is 1 and 1 is none as they say.
New sub! Thanks for doing this video, not a lot out there like this. I’m getting my first Shiro in this week neon ultra lite. Snagged it LNIB for $485 in Elmax!
Hey Steve I had asked advice on a good entry level Shiro a month ago and I thought you gave some fine advice! I have another question to ask. I won the lottery to buy the Shiro Custom Division White Tiger F95 Chinese Special Edition for $1800. I went ahead and just paid for it now! Did a make a wise decision? It looks like a fantastic knife and you gave good advice b4 so I thought I’d run that by you. Thanks in advice your friend in the knife world..
I think you made a solid decision, the custom division knives are simply perfect and even if you decided to let one go they hold their value very well. Id say well done that's a hell of a knife
I’m not sure how it works for production knives. I’ve only sent off a CD and I gave it to my buddy and he gave it to Shiro at a show and they mailed it back to me from Russia. It was free which depends on the condition of the knife and because it was a custom division.
Very cool knives. I’ve been wanting to add one to my collection. Is there a specific entry level Shiro for around a thousand that you would recommend? Great video..
Hey love me a Shiro. Only reason your pivot screw might loosen is cuz is knife nuts flip them a zillion times a day and we’re talking about whatever type of loctite is used in their factory or how much was applied or what type or if any at all. Then the friction of constant flipping.... There is no knife that can remain perfect through years of flipping the hell out of it, and I am horrible with flipping my knives, my F95R would loosen also so maybe that model didn’t get the special sauce; I usually loctite a pivot screw regardless. Nothing wrong with a passionate knife nut, very nice collection, nice vid. Only knife people understand. Though I have been seeing really nice stuff for $200 and less. But I have to say, nothing compares to a shirogorov!
Steve Mathias appreciate the response... the shirts that have went through my hands so For is the F95R, Hati R with blue/silver twill, and a neon ultra lite.... I will be buying the newest neon model... I almost bout that f5 silk but too late; I have won two lotteries winning two collab shiro’s and unfortunately I just didn’t have the $ and know I cannot participate in the lotteries anymore 🥺 my next shiro’s that I’ll be getting: F3 with blue g10 and orange accents srbs, the next is a F3R and I’ve been eyeballing one so I hope it’s not gone before I gather the $......the grail would be a neon custom neon, oh yeah, I want a F95 turtle in plain Ti or tumbled blue... I’ll dm you my IG acct, would love to chat with ya soon. Keep it the good work

Lightening pockets are milled out portions of the titanium on the inside portion of the scale to reduce weight.
